Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and device for controlling a preheating system for a traction battery of an electric vehicle (10). To this end, navigation data representing a predetermined route for the electric vehicle (10) is received from a mobile navigation application running on a mobile communication device (101) connected to the electric vehicle (10). This navigation data includes information representing a series of stops at a charging station. Control parameters for the preheating system of the traction battery of the electric vehicle (10) are determined based on this information. The control parameters are then transmitted to the preheating system. (See Figure 1 for abbreviations.)
