Abstract

Description

Title of the invention: Lock for closing pens and / or doors in livestock buildings

[0001] The present invention relates to a lock for closing pens and / or doors in animal housing (pigs, sheep, cattle, horses). These are used in farms, feedlots, wholesale markets, auction markets and slaughterhouses.

[0002] To date, the locks used to close the gates and parks are entirely metallic. They are often installed in stainless steel or galvanized metal cages, which are themselves installed on sheet metal assemblies.

[0003] Steel-on-steel friction causes noise and resonance in the door and even in the entire installation, which is composed of dozens of sheet metal panels assembled together.

[0004] The lock can also impact the locking piece opposite it if the latter is not correctly positioned. This also generates a shock and therefore a significant noise peak in the installation.

[0005] As part of our development efforts to improve animal welfare, we decided to limit this noise pollution in order to reduce stress for animals in the barns. We therefore decided to produce a steel lock overmolded in plastic.

[0006] To this end, the present invention relates to a lock for closing enclosures and / or doors in livestock buildings comprising a plastic overmolded lock with a steel lock core, the lock core being covered with a plastic material to dampen metallic noises and sound shocks.
