Description

Title of the invention: Separation device for a distribution unit and associated seed drill

[0001] The invention relates to the field of separation devices for a distribution unit and the field of seed drills.

[0002] The invention thus relates more generally to the field of single-seed sowing, also called precision sowing, that is to say, sowing seeds one by one in rows. Single-seed sowing finds its application in the cultivation of maize, beets, soybeans, or similar crops.

[0003] A precision seed drill generally consists of a frame onto which seeding units, most often between 4 and 12 or even more, are mounted using a parallelogram linkage. The spacing between these seeding units varies depending on the crop, preferably between 37.5 centimeters and 80 centimeters, but allows for the formation of clearly distinct rows. For this reason, it is common to refer to this type of planting as row cropping, as opposed to crops such as wheat where the spacing is much smaller.

[0004] In a known manner, a single-seed seed distribution device generally operates in the manner stated below.

[0005] A sealed, two-part housing comprises a perforated distribution disc, preferably driven by a motor, which forms a distribution element for a plurality of granular elements. The distribution disc divides the housing into two chambers with different air pressures, thus creating a pressure difference, which can be positive or negative, on either side of the perforated distribution disc. The housing is connected to a blower that allows the pressure difference to be adjusted according to the type of seed, the feed speed, and other parameters.

[0006] At the bottom of the perforated distribution disc, i.e., at the bottom of the housing, there is a reservoir area for granular elements, for example seeds, which is most often supplied by a hopper. These seeds are in contact with the rotating perforated distribution disc, which, as it rotates, carries the seeds one by one into its perforations.

[0007] The diameter and shape of the perforations in the distribution disc are designed to accommodate a single granular element, for example, a seed. The granular element is held in the perforation by the pressure difference between the two sides of the distribution disc. The perforations are often edged with special shapes, for example, raised and / or recessed, and are These areas around the perforations are commonly called agitators, and are arranged in the distribution disc to guide and / or direct the seeds towards the perforations.

[0008] Once the seeds are distributed into the perforations of the distribution disc, a selection system eliminates excess seeds to prevent duplicates, as several seeds can sometimes end up in a single perforation, which is undesirable. This selection can be achieved using teeth, brushes, or similar fixed devices located outside and / or inside the seed path. As a result, the excess seeds fall back into the reserve area.

[0009] Once the seeds have been selected, they are transported to the final distribution zone, which is generally located in the last quarter turn of the distribution disc, where the pressure difference is eliminated. This absence of pressure difference causes the seed to exit the perforation and the distribution system towards the ground. Seed ejection can be assisted by a roller that reduces the pressure difference and may even push the seed out of the perforation using spikes; the roller thus forms a separation device.

[0010] Publication DE102009043881A1 illustrates such a roulette wheel with a cylindrical base whose top is fitted with a stud surrounded by a flat sealing gasket.

[0011] Publication WO 2022 / 159027A1 illustrates a roulette wheel with pins and a seal surrounding each pin.

[0012] In these publications, the pin is inserted into the perforation with some play, while the seal rests against the disc wall at the perforation inlet without penetrating it. Occasionally, the pressure difference is not interrupted by the pin, and the seed may therefore remain on the disc due to an imperfect seal.

[0013] The present invention aims to overcome at least one of these drawbacks and seeks to propose a solution to improve the efficiency of the pressure difference cut-off by optimizing the sealing.

[0014] To this end, the invention relates to a separation device for a distribution element of a plurality of granular elements,

[0015] the distribution organ being arranged to distribute in a discrete and singular manner a plurality of granular elements and comprising a plurality of perforations each having an internal channel with an inlet and an outlet,

[0016] The separation device comprises at least:

[0017] a separating wheel comprising a rotation axis and a peripheral surface,

[0018] the separation wheel comprising a plurality of radial projections protruding from the peripheral surface, each of the radial projections being configured to fit into the internal channel of one of the perforations in an insertion position,

[0019] The separation device is characterized in that:

[0020] The radial projections are configured to insert through the inlet of the internal channel of one of the perforations in a sealed manner inside the internal channel by conjugation of shape and / or by means of a sealing element in the insertion position so as to achieve sealing inside the internal channel.

[0021] The invention relates to an assembly comprising a separation device for a distribution member of a plurality of granular elements and a distribution member of a plurality of granular elements, the distribution member being arranged to distribute in a discrete and singular manner a plurality of granular elements and having a plurality of perforations comprising an internal channel with an inlet and an outlet, characterized in that the separation device is according to the invention.

[0022] The invention relates to a seed drill comprising at least the assembly including a separation device for a distribution element of a plurality of granular elements and a distribution element of a plurality of granular elements, characterized in that the assembly is according to the invention.

[0037] [Fig. 14] [Fig. 14] represents a perspective view of a distribution assembly according to the invention.

[0038] The invention relates to a separation device for a distribution element 1 of a plurality of granular elements,

[0039] the distribution element 1 being arranged to distribute in a discrete and singular manner a plurality of granular elements and comprising a plurality of perforations 2 each having an internal channel 3 with an inlet 4 and an outlet 5,

[0040] The separation device comprises at least:

[0041] - a separating wheel 6 comprising a rotation axis 7 and a surface peripheral 8,

[0042] the separation wheel 6 having a plurality of radial projections 9 protruding from the peripheral surface 8, each of the radial projections 9 being configured to fit into the internal channel 3 of one of the perforations 2 in an insertion position PI.

[0043] According to the invention, the separation device is characterized in that:

[0044] the radial projections 9 are configured to insert through the inlet 4 of the internal channel 3 of one of the perforations 2 in a sealed manner inside the internal channel 3 by conjugation of form and / or by means of a sealing element 10 in the insertion position PI so as to achieve sealing inside the internal channel 3.

[0045] Advantageously, this configuration makes it possible to increase the sealing time of the perforation 2, that is to say, the time during which the perforation 2 remains sealed by the radial projection 9. It follows that the present invention makes it possible to improve the efficiency of the pressure difference cut-off by optimizing The sealing. This solution also has the advantages of being suitable for all types of seeds and not impacting the size of the separation device.

[0046] Preferably, each radial projection 9 has the shape of a circular cylinder with a curved profile or a truncated cone and is configured to fit snugly into the internal channel 3 of complementary shape in the shape of a circular cylinder with a curved profile or a truncated cone by conjugation of shape in the insertion position PI.

[0047] Advantageously, this results in the radial projection 9 having a shape that allows the internal channel 3 to be closed over a larger area in the insertion position PI than in the prior art. The profile of the radial projection 9 is therefore optimized to improve sealing.

[0048] Preferably, each radial projection 9 includes the sealing element 10 configured to be inserted inside the internal channel 3 of the perforation 2 in the insertion position PI.

[0049] Advantageously, the sealing element 10 makes it possible to achieve a seal inside the internal channel 3 and to compensate for any possible play of tolerance between the radial projection 9 and the internal channel 3 in the insertion position PI.

[0050] Preferably, each radial projection 9 in the form of a circular cylinder with a curved profile or a truncated cone has a groove 11 and the sealing element 10 is an O-ring that fits into the groove 11.

[0051] Preferably, each radial projection 9 in the form of a circular cylinder with a curved profile or a truncated cone has a summit 12 preferably flat or convex from which a centering pin 13 is salient, the centering pin 13 is configured to open towards the outlet 5 of the internal channel 3 of the perforation 2 in the insertion position PI.

[0052] Advantageously, the centering pin 13 allows the granular element to be pushed back mechanically and prevented from jamming at the outlet 5.

[0053] Preferably, the peripheral surface 8 comprises at least a first row RI of radial projections 9 configured to fit into a first circular row Cl of perforations 2.

[0054] Advantageously, this possibility is particularly advantageous for a distribution element 1 having one or more circular rows Cl of perforations 2.

[0055] Preferably, the peripheral surface 8 further comprises at least one RDI row of teeth 14 for inserting into a circular row CD1 of guide holes 15, preferably blind.

[0056] Advantageously, at least one row of teeth 4 ensures the continuous rotation of the separating wheel 6 around the axis of rotation 7. This feature is particularly advantageous for a distribution element 1 featuring a limited number of perforations 2, i.e. for example less than thirty perforations 2 on the distribution element 1.
