Description

The present disclosure relates to a kitchen cabinet assembly comprising a drawer, an inner casing, and an outer casing. This kitchen cabinet assembly is designed for use in the kitchen, or similar environments such as restaurants, hotels, and households. A toaster, also referred to as an automatic bread slice oven or bread toaster, is an electric device designed specifically for reheating sliced bread. By using it, bread slices can be baked to a golden-brown colour as well as be enhanced in flavour and aroma, which will whet the appetite. The conventional toaster has to be placed on a table / flat surface of the kitchen counter. It is simple to move and it can be pushed off the edge of the worktop and fall to the ground. It is also simple to break and allows children to interfere with the toaster when unsupervised which is especially problematic if the toaster is in use. A percentage of users do not want the toaster permanently on display because the toaster ruins the minimalist aesthetic of the kitchen, with the result that the kitchen looks more congested. Not every design enables a conventional toaster to be installed in a small pantry unit where it can be retrieved and set on the worktop when required for toasting bread. Some users store the toaster in a utility room but it is difficult to manually move a toaster to and from a distant utility room for example. Some users keep the toaster in a unit to be used as required. Additionally, constant movement increases the chance of spilling crumbs from the crumb tray onto the floor or work area or possibly into and around the heating elements. Shifting the toaster after use when the toaster has not completely cooled down may put the user at risk of injury from burns and / or put the storage area at risk of fire. Another key issue that is felt most keenly in the field of kitchen furniture and furniture fittings is the requirement to utilize the available space most efficiently in order to minimize the volume of available workspace taken up by appliances in a domestic environment. Several types of arrangements are known in the art which are adapted to solve this problem such as a toaster oven and a fitted toaster having folding arrangement. The toaster oven is suspended under a wooden kitchen cabinet using hoods and mounting setups, but these arrangements often do not adequately protect the wooden cabinet from the heat of the toaster oven. Moreover, the traditional toaster oven has been provided with slots in its upper horizontal wall, thereby destroying the wall integrity of the toaster oven creating what is considered an unappealing aesthetic by many interior designers. Naturally, such slots also impair the appearance of the toaster oven should it be desired to use it in a conventional manner by placing it on a kitchen counter. Further, fitted toasters having a folding arrangement must always be moved in order to carry out any toasting operations. When cleaning the kitchen, toasters are sometimes forgotten about because they do not appear to be very dirty from the exterior. Because of this, breadcrumbs / food residues / seeds / nuts that fall off during the toasting process may accumulate inside the toaster or at the bottom of the toaster before slowly building up over time. These accumulated food residues may pose a fire hazard and could ignite a fire. Thus, there is a requirement for a toaster that should be maintained and cleaned easily while creating an attractive aesthetic. It is therefore an object of the present invention to overcome the above-mentioned problems with conventional and adapted toaster assembly solutions. It is an object of the present invention to provide a kitchen cabinet assembly that is sleek and easy to construct / install. Such constructions should focus on the integration of the appliance and zero clutter. It is a further object of the present disclosure to provide a kitchen cabinet assembly that shields the cabinet and / or kitchen from heat, fire or flames. It is another object of the present disclosure to provide a multipurpose drawer for utilizing the internal space while preventing foreign substances such as dust and the like from entering the toaster. This should further reduce the requirement for frequent cleaning of the toaster inside. It is another object of the present to provide a kitchen cabinet assembly that is easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to maintain, to ensure a higher level of food hygiene in every serving. This will result in cleaner kitchen counters higher quality of food product and smoother operation of the small kitchen appliance. The drawer 1 has at least a first section 3 comprising an integrated toasting module 30 within the first section 3. The toasting module 30 is always in an upright position, when the drawer 1 is in a closed position or in an open position. By upright we mean that slots for receiving the slices of toast are vertical. As shown in figures 1-2 and 7-10, the toasting module 30 is always in an upright position, when the drawer 1 is in a closed position X or in an open position Y or any position Z between the closed and the open position. Referring to figures 7-8, the kitchen cabinet assembly 100 has a thermal shield 7 being locatable inside the outer casing 2. The thermal shield 7 is movable in and out from the outer casing 2. The thermal shield 7 is formed of glass and / or tempered glass, the glass being optionally perforated. Referring to figures 4, the kitchen cabinet assembly 100 comprises a power isolation switch 6 configurable to isolate the toasting module 30 from the main power supply. Advantageously, this ensures safety while removing food residues / breadcrumbs from the toasting module. Thus, it removes the requirement of unplugging the cable of the toasting module 30 for cleaning and maintenance work while in situ. As shown in the figure 2, the power isolation switch 6 is located on a sidewall 11” of a second section 4. As shown in Figures 8, the kitchen cabinet assembly 100 has a sliding mechanism 5 for sliding the drawer 1 in and out from the outer casing 2 between the closed position and the open position. The sliding mechanism 5 is a push to open mechanism that operates when pressure is applied to the drawer 1. The sliding mechanism 5 has two guiding arrangements 50 for sliding the drawer 1 in and out from the outer casing 2 between the closed position and the open position. Each guiding arrangement 50 has an inner channel 51 and an outer channel 52 which are slidably mounted relative to one another. The inner channels 51 are disposed under each sidewall 11,12 of the drawer. The inner channels 51 are mounted on an underside surface of the base plate 10 of the drawer 1. The outer channels 52 are mounted on the respective sidewall 21, 22 of the outer casing 2. The outer channels 52 of the guiding arrangement 50 is located on an edge formed by the bottom panel 23 with the sidewall 21, 22 of the outer casing 2 in the opening direction of the drawer 1. The each channel 51,52 has an interior end and an exterior end. The interior end 51’ of each inner channel 51 has a first positive stop 53. The interior end 52’ of each outer channel 52 has a second positive stop 54. The first and second positive stop 53, 54 correspond to one another and are constructed to engage when the channels 51, 52 are moved to a closed position and to disengage when the inner channel 51 is forced inward from the closed position relative to the outer channel 52 and released, thereby allowing said drawer 1 to slide to move to an open position. The drawer 1 is movably / slidably mounted on the outer channel 52 of the guiding arrangement 50 via the inner channels 51.
