Abstract
Description
This invention relates to a device for applying filling products to flat or irregular surfaces. DESCRIPTION When people are attempting to repair of finish surfaces, either flat or irregular, they require a tool which applies filling product to fill in damaged, misshapen or unsatisfactory areas to make good. However, the application of filling products using conventional filling tools that are a flat and semi flexible metal or plastic blade, herein known as a conventional tool, can lead to a number of difficulties. The userof a conventional tool is unable to utilise the full surface area of the conventional tool edge to sufficiently cover and fill the misshapen, damaged or unsatisfactory flat or irregular surfaces surface. The conventional tool is only capable of filling a flat surface sufficiently well. Furthermore, the filling product is inefficiently applied using the conventional tool and leaves an inconsistent and uneven surface which requires numerous applications to fill and replicate the original irregular surface of the substrate. This results in excess filling product wastage. Using the conventional tool is time consuming, wastes filling products, and requires the use of further materials to form a smooth surface on the irregular surface. The straight edge of the conventional tool cannot efficiently fill an irregular surfaces surface. To overcome these problems, the present invention proposes a flexible and durable tool, herein known as a Flexible tool, which flexes in all directions, and can be used on all surfaces for the application of filling products to adapt to any flat or irregular surfaces. The Flexible tool is shaped either side of the tool - allowing the user to grip and manipulate the Flexible tool and assisting it to contour to flat or irregular surfaces that the filling product is being applied to. The Flexible tool will now be described solely byway of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1. Shows the Flexible tool from a birds eye view Figure 2. Shows a top view with the contour of the Flexible tool and shape for user comfort Figure 3. Shows the contour of the Flexible tool and shape for user comfort Figure 4. Shows a side view of the Flexible tool and the shape for user comfort Figure 5. Shows the opposite side view of the Flexible tool and the shape for user comfort Figure 6. Shows the section view of the Flexible tool at the application area. Figure 7. Shows the section view of the Flexible tool including the handle area. Figure 8, 9, 10, 11. Shows the Flexible tool being used on irregular surfaces and demonstrates how the tool can be gripped and manipulated to adapt to any flat or irregular surfaces to apply filling product. In Figure 1 - 7 we can see the ergonomic shape of 1 &2 of the Flexible tool which assists the user in the application of filling products to surfaces which are flat and irregular. We can see that the tool can be utilised in either way it is held by the user. This choice will be dependent on what shape surface the user requires to fill. In Figure 8 -11 we can see the Flexible tool being used on irregular surfaces and is being manipulated by the user into a concave shape to adapt to that particular surface.
Claims
1. A Flexible tool for applying filling products to flat or irregular surfaces, comprising, a contoured shape that allows the Flexible tool to conform to various round, flat or irregular surfaces, ensuring efficient and consistent application of the filling product; ergonomic and user friendly features are strategically placed to enable the user to grip and manipulate the tool, thereby applying precise pressure to the surface being filled and enhancing the tool's adaptability to fill different contours; a resilient and flexible material composition that provides durability, ease of cleaning, and the ability to be used with various filling products.
2. The Flexible tool of claim 1, wherein the contoured shape reduces the need for multiple applications of the filling product, minimising waste and ensuring a smooth finish on the flat or irregular surfaces.
3. The Flexible tool of claim 1, wherein the ergonomic and user friendly design provide a comfortable grip, reducing user fatigue during prolonged use and allowing for precise control over the application process.
4. The Flexible tool of claim 1, wherein the flexible and durable material composition allows the tool to be easily cleaned and reused, maintaining its effectiveness over multiple uses.
5. A method for applying a filling product using a flexible tool, comprising: a flexible filling tool with a contoured shape; applying a filling product to a flat or irregular surface; using the flexible tool to spread the filling product across the flat or irregular surface; utilising the flexible tool’s grip-enhancing features to maintain control during application; cleaningthe tool after use.
6. A method for reducing product waste during application of a filling product, comprising: a flexible tool with a durable, easy to clean material; applying a filling product to a flat or irregular surface; using the flexible tool to spread the filling product in a single motion; collecting any excess filling product with the flexible tool and reapplying it to the flat or irregular surface; cleaning the flexible tool to remove any remaining filling product.
7. A method for achieving a smooth finish on surfaces filled with a filling product, comprising: a flexible tool with a contoured shape and grip-enhancing features; applying a filling product to a flat or irregular surface; using the flexible tooltospread the filling product evenly, following the contours of the flat or irregular surface; applying pressure to ensure an even application; cleaning the tool after use.
8. A method for enhancing user comfort and efficiency during application of a filling product, comprising: flexible tool with an ergonomic design and grip enhancing features; applying a filling product to a flat or irregular surface; using the flexible tool to spread the filling product evenly, reducing the need for multiple applications; ensuring the tool's design minimises hand fatigue and maximises control; cleaning the tool after use.
