Description

Field of the invention (001) The present invention relates to a modular bathroom pod for use in custodial establishments. Background of the invention (002) Typically, custodial establishments are secure establishments for keeping people in custody. Examples of custodial establishments include prisons, police stations, secure hospitals, secure training centres or schools, secure children’s homes and young offender institutions. (003) Furniture and fittings for use in custodial establishments need to be extremely robust and safe. (004) Custodial establishments have confined spaces. As a result, it is difficult to transport furniture and fittings around a custodial establishment and the size of furniture and fittings is restricted. (005) To provide privacy, custodial rooms may include bathroom facilities. For example, custodial rooms may include a toilet, sink and / or shower. However, there is a risk of leakage or flooding from the bathroom facilities and consequential water damage in the custodial room. The leakage, flooding and water damage impair the use of the custodial room and have an environmental impact. (006) Therefore, the present invention provides a bathroom pod that can be suitably fitted into a custodial establishment which mitigates the aforementioned problems and disadvantages. Summary of the Invention (007) A first aspect of the present invention provides a modular bathroom pod assembled on-site in a custodial environment. (008) The modular bathroom pod has a modular kit construction to allow the bathroom pod to transported in modular kit form to a custodial establishment and assembled on-site in the custodial establishment. (009) When assembled on-site at the custodial establishment, the modular bathroom pod comprises an enclosure comprising a wall, a floor, and an entrance: wherein the wall comprises a wall module, the wall module comprising a wall frame and an impermeable wall inner cladding, and wherein the wall frame and the wall inner cladding are integral; wherein the floor comprises a floor tray module, the floor tray module comprising an impermeable tray base and an impermeable tray perimeter wall, wherein the tray base and tray perimeter wall are integral; whereby the wall module is mounted on the tray base such that the wall module is arranged on an inner side of the tray perimeter wall, adjacent a wall portion of the tray perimeter wall. (010) Due to the configuration of the wall module, the impermeable wall inner cladding is arranged as a wall inner face and forms a primary wall fluid containment barrier. Also, the wall portion of the impermeable tray perimeter wall is arranged on an outer side of the wall module and forms a secondary wall fluid containment barrier providing a bunding effect. The combination of the primary wall fluid containment barrier and the secondary wall fluid containment barrier improves the containment of fluid within the enclosure and helps to reduce the risk of leakage or flooding from the bathroom pod. (011) The enclosure of the bathroom pod may comprise a plurality of walls, each wall comprising a wall module, whereby each wall module is mounted on the impermeable tray base on the inner side of the tray perimeter wall adjacent a different wall portion of the tray perimeter wall. As a result, each impermeable wall inner cladding is arranged as a different wall inner face and each wall portion of the impermeable tray perimeter wall is arranged on the outer side of the respective wall module, whereby each impermeable wall inner cladding forms a primary wall fluid containment barrier of the respective wall, and each wall portion of the tray perimeter wall forms a secondary wall fluid containment barrier with respect to the respective wall. (012) The entrance may comprise an entrance opening and an entrance step into the floor tray, wherein an entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall is arranged as an entrance step inner face. As such, the entrance portion of the impermeable tray perimeter wall forms an entrance fluid containment barrier which helps to further improve the containment of fluid and reduce the risk of leakage or flooding from the bathroom pod. (013) The bathroom pod may comprise at least one bathroom facility arranged within the enclosure. The at least one bathroom facility may comprise a shower, a toilet, a wash hand basin and / or a light. (014) The floor tray module may comprise a stainless steel floor tray, mild steel floor tray, a resin floor tray, a plastic floor tray or a floor tray formed of any other suitable impermeable material. (015) The floor tray module may comprise a waste to permit the drainage of waste fluid from the bathroom pod via the floor. (016) In use, a user stands on the tray base of the bathroom pod. The tray base may comprise a non-slip pattern to aid the grip of a user’s foot or shoe. (017) The floor may further comprise a floor frame module to support the floor tray module. The floor tray may be secured to the floor frame module during the assembly of the bathroom pod on-site at the custodial establishment. (018) The floor frame module may comprise a stainless steel floor frame or a mild steel floor frame. (019) The wall frame of the wall module may comprise a stainless steel wall frame or a mild steel wall frame. (020) The wall inner cladding of the wall module may comprise a stainless steel sheet, mild steel sheet, a resin panel, a plastic panel, or a panel with a surface layer or coating formed of any suitable impermeable material. (021) The wall may further comprise a wall outer cladding supported by the wall module wherein the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall is arranged between the wall module and the wall outer cladding. As a result, the wall outer cladding is arranged as a wall outer face. (022) The outer cladding may comprise a stainless steel sheet, mild steel sheet, compact grade laminate panel, a resin panel, a plastic panel or a panel formed from any other suitable material. If the wall is externally visible to a user, the outer cladding may have a decorative surface. (023) The wall module may comprise a wall return flange. The wall return flange may be formed by an extended portion of wall inner cladding of the wall module extended beyond the wall frame and folded rearwardly of the wall frame. A portion of the wall frame and, optionally a portion of the wall outer cladding, may be received in a recess of the wall return flange. The wall return flange may extend along a side of the wall module and define an end face of the wall. The wall return flange may comprise a slot through which the tray perimeter wall extends. (024) The entrance opening may comprise a gap space defined by at least the wall. In use, the user enters and exits the bathroom pod via the entrance opening whilst stepping on or over the entrance step. (025) The entrance step may comprise an entrance step frame module to support the entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall, wherein the entrance step frame module is arranged on an outer side of the entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall. (026) The entrance step may comprise an entrance step outer cladding supported by the entrance step frame module, wherein the entrance step outer cladding is arranged on an outer side of the entrance step frame module to form an entrance step outer face. (027) The entrance step outer cladding may comprise a stainless steel sheet, mild steel sheet, compact grade laminate panel, a resin panel, a plastic panel or a panel formed from any other suitable material. Given that the entrance is visible to the user, the entrance step outer cladding may have a decorative surface. (028) The entrance step may comprise an impermeable entrance step cap sitting atop the entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall, the entrance step frame module and optional step outer cladding. The entrance step cap may extend along a top edge of the entrance step and define an entrance step top face. (029) The entrance may further comprise an entrance head. The entrance head comprises an entrance head frame and an entrance head outer cladding supported by the entrance head frame, wherein the entrance head outer cladding forms an entrance head outer face. (030) The entrance head outer cladding may comprise a stainless steel sheet, mild steel sheet, compact grade laminate panel, a resin panel, a plastic panel or a panel formed from any other suitable material. The entrance head outer cladding may have a decorative surface. (031) The wall outer cladding, the entrance step outer cladding and the entrance head outer cladding may comprise the same material and have the same decorative finish. (032) The enclosure may further comprise a ceiling. The ceiling may comprise a ceiling frame and an impermeable ceiling cladding supported by the ceiling frame, wherein the ceiling cladding forms a ceiling inner face. (033) The ceiling frame may comprise a stainless steel ceiling frame or a mild steel ceiling frame. (034) The ceiling cladding may comprise stainless steel sheet, mild steel sheet, a resin panel, a plastic panel, or a panel with a surface layer or coating comprising an impermeable material. (035) The ceiling may comprise a ceiling return flange. The ceiling return flange may be formed by an extended portion of the ceiling cladding extended beyond the ceiling frame and folded upwardly towards the ceiling of the custodial establishment. A portion of the entrance head frame and entrance head outer cladding may be received in the ceiling return flange. The ceiling return flange may extend along a lower edge of the entrance head and define a lower end face of the entrance head. (036) The bathroom pod may further comprise a fluid sensor configured to detect the height of fluid retained in the floor tray and an automatic fluid flow control configured to automatically prohibit the flow of fluid via the one or more bathroom facilities when the fluid sensor detects a maximum threshold height of fluid retained in the floor tray. Restricting the volume of fluid retained within the floor tray helps to reduce the risk of leakage or flooding from the bathroom pod. (037) The bathroom pod may further comprise a fluid sensor configured to detect the volume of fluid flowing via the one or more bathroom facilities into the bathroom pod over a predetermined period of time and an automatic fluid flow control configured to automatically prohibit the flow of fluid via the one or more bathroom facilities when the fluid sensor detects a maximum threshold volume of fluid over the predetermined period of time. Restricting the volume of fluid flowing into the bathroom over the predetermined period of time allows for the drainage of fluid from the bathroom pod, and thereby helps to avoid the unintended escape of fluid. (038) A second aspect of the present invention provides a modular bathroom pod kit to assemble on-site at a custodial environment. (039) The kit comprises: a wall module, wherein the wall module comprises a wall frame and an impermeable wall inner cladding integral with the wall frame; a floor tray module, wherein the floor tray module comprises an impermeable tray base and an impermeable tray perimeter wall integral with the tray base; wherein, during assembly on-site, the wall module is configurable to be mountable on the tray base on an inner side of the tray perimeter wall and adjacent a wall portion of the tray perimeter wall such that the wall inner cladding is thereby arranged as a wall inner face and forms a primary wall fluid containment barrier, and such that the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall is thereby arranged on an outer side of the wall module and forms a secondary wall fluid containment barrier. (040) The kit may further comprise an entrance step frame module, wherein the entrance step frame module is mountable to support an entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall such that the entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall is thereby arranged as an entrance step inner face and forms an entrance step inner face. (041) The wall frame of the kit may comprise a stainless steel wall frame or mild steel wall frame. The wall inner cladding of the kit may comprise comprises a stainless sheet, a mild steel sheet, a resin panel or a plastic panel. The floor tray module of the kit may comprise a stainless steel floor tray module, mild steel floor tray module, a resin floor tray module or a plastic floor tray module. (042) The kit may further comprise a floor frame module, wherein the floor frame module is mountable to support the floor tray module. (043) The kit may comprise a wall outer cladding, wherein the wall outer cladding is supportable by the wall module such that the wall portion is thereby arranged between the wall module and the wall outer cladding and the wall outer cladding is thereby arranged as a wall outer face. (044) The kit may comprise a wall return flange, wherein the wall return flange is configurable to receive a portion of the wall frame and a portion of the wall outer cladding, and the wall return flange forms a wall face. (048) When the kit comprises a floor frame module, the method of assembling onsite may further comprise mounting the floor frame module to support the floor tray module. (049) When the kit comprises a wall outer cladding, the method of assembling onsite may further comprise supporting the wall outer cladding by the wall module whereby the wall portion is arranged between the wall module and the wall outer cladding and the wall outer cladding is arranged as a wall outer face. (050) When the kit further comprises a wall return flange, the method of assembling on-site may further comprise receiving a portion of the wall frame and a portion of the wall outer cladding in the wall return flange whereby the wall return flange forms a wall end face. (051) When the wall return flange comprises a slot, the method of assembling onsite may further comprise extending the tray perimeter wall therethrough the slot. (052) When the kit further comprises an entrance step frame module, the method of assembling on-site may further comprise mounting the entrance step frame module to support an entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall whereby the entrance portion is arranged as an entrance step inner face and forms an entrance fluid containment barrier. Detailed Description (054) The present invention relates to a modular bathroom pod assembled on-site at a custodial environment, and a modular bathroom pod kit to assemble on-site at the custodial environment. Figures 1 to 29 depict an embodiment of the modular bathroom pod (BP) according to the present invention. (055) The modular bathroom pod has a modular kit construction to allow the bathroom pod to be transported in modular kit form to a custodial establishment and assembled on-site in the custodial establishment. Due to the modular kit construction, the modular bathroom pod kit may be easily manoeuvred, and assembled, within the confined spaces of the custodial establishment. As such, the modular bathroom pod may be retrofitted in the custodial establishment. (056) When assembled on-site at the custodial establishment, the modular bathroom pod comprises an enclosure. The enclosure comprises a side wall, a floor, and an entrance. Depending on the configuration of the enclosure, the enclosure may comprise multiple side walls. (057) The bathroom pod further comprises one or more bathroom facilities arranged within the enclosure. For example, the bathroom pod may comprise at least one of a shower, a toilet, a wash-hand basin, a light or any other suitable bathroom facility mounted in the enclosure. (058) The enclosure may have any suitable shape. The shape may be based on the type of bathroom facilities, arrangement of the bathroom facilities, available space within the room of the custodial establishment, and / or the location of the bathroom pod within the room of the custodial establishment. The enclosure may have a regular or irregular shape. The enclosure may have a generally square, rectangular, ellipse or circular cross-sectional shape, and a respective cube, cuboid, ellipsoid or cylindrical three-dimensional shape. (059) If the enclosure has an ellipsoid or cylindrical shape, the enclosure may comprise a single side wall. If the enclosure comprises a multi-sided, multi-cornered shape (for example, a cube or cuboid shape), the enclosure may comprise multiple side walls. (060) The embodiment of the modular bathroom pod (BP) depicted in the Figures has a generally rectangular shape enclosure with four corners (C1, C2, C3, C4). As shown, the enclosure comprises a floor (F), four walls (W1, W2, W3, W4) defining four sides walls of the enclosure, and an entrance (E). The entrance is arranged between two walls (W1, W4). The modular bathroom pod is arranged in a corner of a custodial establishment room, where the corner of the custodial room is formed by custodial room walls (CEW1, CEW2). As can be seen in the Figures 1, 2 and 3, certain side walls (W1, W2) are outwardly facing side walls and so they are visible to a user external to the bathroom pod. Other certain side walls (W2, W3) are inwardly facing side walls that face the corner walls of the custodial room (CEW1, CEW2). In this embodiment, the modular bathroom pod comprises a toilet (T), a shower (S), a wash hand basin (B) and a light (L) mounted in the enclosure. (061) The floor of the enclosure comprises an impermeable floor tray module. By being impermeable, the floor tray module is fluid resistant. (062) The floor tray module comprises an impermeable tray base on which a user stands when using the bathroom pod. The tray base may comprise a slip resistant pattern to aid the grip of a user’s foot or shoe when standing on the tray base. (063) The floor tray module also comprises an impermeable tray perimeter wall. The tray perimeter wall is a peripheral wall of the floor tray module that extends circumferentially around the tray base. The tray perimeter wall is upstanding from the tray base, preferably substantially perpendicular to the tray base. (064) The tray base and tray perimeter wall are integral whereby the floor tray module has a single unit structure. The tray base and tray perimeter wall may be integrally attached (connected, conjoined) such that the floor tray module has an integrated, single unit structure. Alternatively, the tray base and tray perimeter may be integrally formed from one-piece such that the floor tray module has a monolithic, single unit structure. (065) Due to the single unit structure, the floor tray module is a modular component. The single unit structure of the floor tray module allows for easy transportation, manual handling and assembly of the bathroom pod. (066) As explained further below, when the modular bathroom pod is assembled onsite at the custodial establishment, the impermeable tray perimeter wall is configured to be a fluid containment barrier to aid the retaining of fluid within the bathroom pod and help minimise the unintended escape of fluid. (067) The impermeable tray perimeter wall comprises a wall portion and an entrance portion. When assembled on-site, the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall is arranged in association with the side wall, and the entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall is arranged in association with the entrance. If the enclosure comprises multiple side walls each comprising a wall module, the tray perimeter wall comprises multiple wall portions, and each wall portion is arranged in association with a respective side wall. The, or each, wall portion of the tray perimeter wall forms a wall fluid containment barrier with respect to the associated side wall of the bathroom pod. The entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall forms an entrance fluid containment barrier at the entrance of the bathroom pod. (068) The fluid containment effect of the impermeable tray perimeter wall depends on the height of the tray perimeter wall. The tray perimeter wall may have a height falling within the range of approximately 5cm to 10cm. The height of the tray perimeter wall may be substantially the same along its length. Alternatively, the height of the tray perimeter wall may vary. For example, the height of the at least one wall portion and the entrance portion may be substantially the same or different. (069) The floor tray module may have any suitable shape and configuration according to the desired shape of the bathroom pod enclosure. For example, the floor tray module may have a regular or non-regular shape. The floor tray module may have a square, rectangular, ellipse or circular cross-sectional shape. The tray base may be substantially planar or the tray base may be inclined towards a waste. (070) The floor tray module may comprise stainless steel, mild steel, resin or plastic. The floor tray module may comprise a panel with an impermeable surface layer or coating, or any other suitable impermeable material. For example, the floor tray module may comprise a compact grade laminate with a resin surface layer. (071) As shown in the Figures, the embodiment of the modular bathroom pod (BP) comprises a floor tray module (1) with a rectangular shape. As seen in Figures 4 and 5, the floor tray module comprises a tray base (1a) and an upstanding tray perimeter wall (1b). In this embodiment, the tray perimeter wall comprises four wall portions - a first wall portion (1b1), a second wall portion (1 b2), a third wall portion (1b3) and a fourth wall portion (1b4). The tray perimeter wall also comprises an entrance portion (1b5). When the bathroom pod is assembled on-site at the custodial establishment, each wall portion of the tray perimeter wall (1 b1-1 b4) is arranged in association with a respective side wall (W1-W4) of the enclosure, and the entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall (1b5) is arranged in association with the entrance (E) of the enclosure. In this embodiment, the tray base is substantially planar. The floor tray module is a one-piece, single unit where the tray base and tray perimeter wall are integrally formed from a single piece of 3mm thick stainless steel plate. The wall portions (1 b1-1 b4) have a height of approximately 10cm and the entrance portion (1b5) has a height of approximately 6cm. (072) The floor of the enclosure may comprise a waste through which waste fluid may drain from the bathroom pod via the floor tray module. (073) As shown in the Figures, the embodiment of the modular bathroom pod (BP) comprises a waste (2). As seen in Figure 6, the waste (2) has a waste aperture (2a), waste cover (2b) and waste trap (2c). The waste aperture (2a) is formed in the tray base (1a), and the waste cover (2b) extends over the waste aperture to guide waste fluid to the waste trap (2c). (074) The floor may further comprise a floor frame module to support the floor tray. The floor frame module is a modular component with a single unit frame structure. As such, the floor frame module may be easy to transport and handle when assembling the bathroom pod on-site. The floor frame may comprise a plurality of floor frame members integrally attached to form the single unit frame structure. (075) The floor frame module may be formed from stainless steel or mild steel. (076) The enclosure may comprise fixings to secure the floor frame module to the floor tray module during assembly of the bathroom pod on-site at the custodial establishment. The fixings may comprise mechanical fixings and / or any other suitable fixings. (077) The enclosure may comprise fixings to secure the floor frame module to the floor and / or a wall of the custodial establishment during the assembly of the bathroom pod on-site at the custodial establishment. The fixings may comprise mechanical fixings and / or any other suitable fixings. (078) As shown in the Figures, the embodiment of the modular bathroom pod comprises a rectangular shaped floor frame module (3) to support the rectangular floor tray module (1) in-situ within the custodial establishment. In this embodiment, the floor frame module is secured to the floor of the custodial establishment (CEF) using mechanical fixings (not shown), and the floor tray module is secured to the floor frame module using mechanical fixings (not shown). As seen in Figures 7 and 8, the floor frame module is configured to form a void space (V) between the floor of the custodial establishment and the floor tray module to permit the arrangement of the waste trap (2c), drain pipes, fluid pipes, electrical wiring, insulation etc under the floor tray module. (079) The, or each, side wall of the enclosure comprises a wall module. (080) The wall module comprises a wall frame and an impermeable wall inner cladding. Each wall module has a rectangular shaped, flat panel structure. In this embodiment, each wall frame comprises side frame members extending along opposing sides of the wall module. The frame members are formed from stainless steel. The wall inner cladding comprises stainless steel sheet welded to the wall frame members. (089) When assembled on-site, the wall module is mounted on the tray base whereby the wall module is arranged on an inner side of the tray perimeter wall adjacent the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall, and the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall is thereby arranged on the outer side of the wall module. As such, the wall inner cladding forms a wall inner face of the enclosure that acts as a primary wall fluid containment barrier, and the tray perimeter wall acts as a secondary wall fluid containment barrier that provides a bunding effect with respect to the wall module. The primary wall fluid barrier and second wall fluid containment barrier provide a doublewall fluid barrier to aid the containment of fluid in the enclosure and impede the unintended escape of fluid. (090) If the enclosure comprises a plurality of side walls each having a wall module, each wall module is mounted on the tray base on the inner side of the tray perimeter wall and arranged adjacent a different wall portion of the tray perimeter wall. Each different wall portion of the tray perimeter wall is thereby arranged on the outer side of the respective wall module. As a result, the wall inner cladding of each wall module forms a different wall inner face and acts as a primary wall fluid containment barrier of the respective wall. (092) When the enclosure of the bathroom pod comprises multiple side walls, a sealed joint forms between adjacent wall modules to help maintain watertightness (fluid seal) of the enclosure. The enclosure may comprise fixings to securely engage the wall modules of adjacent side walls. The fixings may be mechanical fixings, and / or any other suitable type of fixings. The mechanical fixings may comprise screws and bolts, clips, brackets, and / or any other suitable mechanical fixings. (093) In the embodiment of the modular bathroom pod (BP) shown in the Figures, each wall module of the side walls (41, 42, 43, 44) is mounted on the tray base (1a) and arranged on an inner side of the tray perimeter wall adjacent a different wall portion of the tray perimeter wall (1 b1, 1 b2, 1 b3, 1 b4). The third wall module (43) and third wall portion (1b3) are adjacent, and the third wall portion is arranged on the outer side of the third wall module. The fourth wall module (44) and fourth wall portion (1b4) are adjacent, and the fourth wall portion is arranged on the outer side of the fourth wall module. Mechanical fixings including screws and bolts (5) securely engage each wall module to the respective wall portion, and sealed joints form between the respective wall modules (41, 42, 43, 44) and the tray base (1a). As shown in Figures 16, 17 and 18, mechanical fixings including screws and bolts (5) and optional corner bracket plates (6) securely engage the wall frames (4a1, 4a2, 4a3, 4a4) of the adjacent wall modules together, and sealed joints form between the adjacent wall modules. Due to the configuration of each wall module, the impermeable wall inner cladding of each wall module (4b1, 4b2, 4b3, 4b4) forms a wall inner face of the enclosure that acts as a wall fluid barrier to provide primary fluid containment within the enclosure. Due to the configuration of the impermeable tray perimeter wall with respect to the wall modules, each wall portion of the tray perimeter wall (1 b1, 1 b2, 1 b3, 1b4) acts as a further wall fluid barrier to provide secondary fluid containment within the enclosure. As a result, the wall portions of the tray perimeter wall provide a bunding effect to help contain fluid within the enclosure and reduce the risk of flooding in the custodial establishment if a wall module fails and / or joint fails. An extended portion of the wall inner cladding of the wall module may be configured to extend beyond the wall frame and fold rearwardly to form the wall return flange. The wall return flange may extend along a side edge of the wall module and form a side end face of the side wall. (100) In the embodiment of the modular bathroom pod (BP) shown in the Figures, the outwardly facing side walls (W1, W4) each comprise a wall outer cladding (7). As shown in Figures 19 to 23, the first side wall (W1) comprises a first outer cladding (71), and the fourth side wall (W4) comprises a second outer cladding (72). The first wall outer cladding (71) is supported by the first wall frame (4a1) of the first wall module (41), with the first wall portion of the tray perimeter wall (1b1) arranged therebetween. The tray perimeter wall (1 b) extends through the slot of the first return flange (8c1) from the entrance region to the first wall region of the enclosure. The second wall return flange (82) is formed from an extended side portion of the fourth wall inner cladding (4b4). The second wall return flange (82) folds rearwardly of the fourth wall inner cladding creating the second recess (8a2) that receives a side frame member of the fourth wall frame (4a4) and an end portion of the second wall outer cladding (72). An opposing end portion of the second wall outer cladding (72) abuts the second corner wall of the custodial establishment (CEW2). The second wall return flange extends along the side of the fourth wall module forming the second end face (8b2). The tray perimeter wall (1 b) extends through the slot of the second wall return flange (8c2) from the fourth wall region to the entrance region of the enclosure. (101) The entrance of the enclosure comprises an entrance opening through which a user can enter and exit the bathroom pod. The entrance opening may be a gap space defined by the wall or pair of walls. (102) The entrance also comprises an entrance step into the floor tray. Mechanical fixings including screws and bolts (5) securely engage the ceiling frame (11a) with each wall frame (4a1, 4a2, 4a3, 4a4) of the wall modules (41, 42, 43, 44). A void (V) forms between the ceiling module (11) and the ceiling of the custodial establishment (CEC) to permit the arrangement of fluid pipes, electrical wiring, insulation etc. In the embodiment, the ceiling frame module comprises stainless steel and the ceiling cladding is stainless steel plate welded to the ceiling frame module. Mechanical fixings including screws (5) securely attach the entrance head frame module (12a) and the ceiling frame module (11a), and securely attach the entrance head outer cladding (12b) and the entrance head frame module (12a). (127) The maximum volume of fluid safely retainable within the modular bathroom pod is dependent on the volume of the floor tray. The bathroom pod may further comprise a fluid sensor configured to detect the height of fluid retained in the floor tray, and an automatic fluid flow control configured to automatically prohibit the flow of fluid via the one or more bathroom facilities when the fluid sensor detects a predetermined threshold height of fluid retained in the floor tray, where the predetermined threshold is less than the height of the perimeter tray wall. The automatic fluid flow control may be an automatic fluid valve. Restricting the volume of fluid retained within the floor tray helps to reduce the risk of leakage or flooding from the bathroom pod. (128) Additionally or alternatively, the bathroom pod may further comprise a fluid sensor configured to detect the volume of fluid flowing into the bathroom pod over a predetermined period of time via the one or more bathroom facilities, and an automatic fluid flow control configured to automatically prohibit the flow of fluid via the one or more bathroom facilities when the fluid sensor detects a predetermined threshold volume of fluid flowing into the bathroom pod over the predetermined period of time, wherein the predetermined threshold is less than the maximum volume of the floor tray. The automatic fluid flow control may be an automatic fluid valve. Restricting the volume of fluid flowing into the bathroom over the predetermined period of time allows for the drainage of fluid from the bathroom pod, and thereby helps to avoid the unintended escape of fluid. (129) Any mechanical fixings to secure components of the bathroom pod may be recessed and concealed with pellets to make then invisible and inaccessible to a user under normal conditions. (130) It will also be appreciated by persons skilled in the art that the above embodiment has been described by way of example only and not in any limitative sense, and that various alterations and modifications are possible without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

Claims

1. A bathroom pod having a modular construction assembled on-site in a custodial establishment, the bathroom pod comprising:an enclosure comprising a wall, a floor, and an entrance;wherein the wall comprises a wall module, the wall module comprising a wall frame and an impermeable wall inner cladding integral with the wall frame;wherein the floor comprises a floor tray module, the floor tray module comprising an impermeable tray base and an impermeable tray perimeter wall integral with the tray base;whereby the wall module is mounted on the tray base on an inner side of the tray perimeter wall adjacent a wall portion of the tray perimeter wall such that the wall inner cladding is arranged as a wall inner face and the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall is arranged on an outer side of the wall module, the wall inner cladding being a primary wall fluid containment barrier of the enclosure and the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall being a secondary wall fluid containment barrier of the enclosure.

2. The bathroom pod according to claim 1, wherein the wall frame comprises a stainless steel wall frame or a mild steel wall frame.

3. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claims, wherein the wall inner cladding comprises a stainless sheet, a mild steel sheet, a resin panel or a plastic panel.

4. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claims, wherein the floor tray module comprises a stainless steel floor tray module, mild steel floor tray module, a resin floor tray module or a plastic floor tray module.

5. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claims, wherein the floor further comprises a floor frame module to support the floor tray module.

6. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claims, wherein the wall further comprises a wall outer cladding supported by the wall module, wherein the wall portion is arranged between the wall module and the wall outer cladding such that the wall outer cladding is arranged as a wall outer face.

7. The bathroom pod according to claim 6, wherein the wall module comprises a wall return flange in which a portion of the wall frame and a portion of the wall outer cladding are received, wherein the wall return flange forms a wall end face.

8. The bathroom pod according to claim 7, wherein the return flange comprises a slot through which the tray perimeter wall extends.

9. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claim, wherein the entrance comprises an entrance opening and an entrance step into the floor tray, wherein an entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall is arranged as an entrance step inner face, the entrance portion of the tray perimeter wall being an entrance fluid containment barrier.

10. The bathroom pod according to claim 9, wherein the entrance step comprises an entrance step frame module to support the entrance portion, wherein the entrance step frame module is arranged on an outer side of the entrance portion.

11. The bathroom pod according to claim 10, wherein the entrance step comprises entrance step outer cladding supported by the entrance step frame module, wherein the entrance step outer cladding is arranged on an outer side of the entrance step frame module, wherein the entrance step outer cladding forms an entrance step outer face.

12. The bathroom pod according to claim 11, wherein the entrance step comprises an impermeable entrance step cap mounted atop the entrance portion, the entrance step frame module and the entrance step outer cladding, wherein the entrance step cap forms an entrance step top face.

The bathroom pod according to any of claims 9 to 12, wherein the entrance comprises an entrance head, the entrance head comprising an entrance head frame and an entrance head outer cladding supported by the entrance head frame, wherein the entrance head outer cladding forms an entrance head outer face.

14. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claim, wherein the enclosure comprises a ceiling, the ceiling comprising a ceiling frame and an impermeable ceiling cladding supported by the ceiling frame, wherein the ceiling cladding forms a ceiling inner face.

15. The bathroom pod according to claim 14 when dependent on claim 13, wherein the ceiling comprises a ceiling return flange in which a portion of the entrance head outer cladding and a portion of the entrance head frame are received, wherein the ceiling return flange forms a lower end face of the entrance head.

16. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claim, further comprising at least one of a shower, a toilet and a wash hand basin mounted in the enclosure.

17. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claim, comprising a fluid sensor to detect a height of fluid in the floor tray and an automatic fluid flow control to automatically prohibit the flow of fluid into the bathroom pod when the fluid sensor detects a maximum threshold height of fluid retained by the floor tray, wherein the maximum threshold height is less than the height of the tray perimeter wall.

18. The bathroom pod according to any preceding claim, comprising a fluid sensor to detect the volume of fluid flowing into the bathroom pod over a predetermined period of time and an automatic fluid flow control to automatically prohibit the flow of fluid into the bathroom pod when the fluid sensor detects a maximum threshold volume of fluid over the predetermined period of time, wherein the maximum threshold volume is less than the volume of the tray perimeter wall..

19. A modular bathroom pod kit to assemble on-site at a custodial establishment, the kit comprising:a floor tray module, wherein the floor tray module comprises an impermeable tray base and an impermeable tray perimeter wall integral with the tray base;a wall module, wherein the wall module comprises a wall frame and an impermeable wall inner cladding integral with the wall frame,wherein, during assembly on-site, the wall module is mountable on the tray base on an inner side of the tray perimeter wall and adjacent a wall portion of the tray perimeter wall, the wall inner cladding thereby being arrangeable as a wall inner face and forming a primary wall fluid containment barrier, and the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall thereby being arrangeable on an outer side of the wall module and forming a secondary wall fluid containment barrier.

20. The modular bathroom pod kit according to claim 19, the kit comprising: an entrance step frame module, wherein during assembly on-site, the entrance step frame module is mountable to support an entrance portion of the trayperimeter wall, the entrance portion thereby being arrangeable as an entrance step inner face and forming an entrance fluid containment barrier.

21. The modular bathroom kit according to any of claims 19 or 20, wherein the wall frame comprises a stainless steel wall frame or mild steel wall frame; and / orwherein the wall inner cladding comprises a stainless sheet, a mild steel sheet, a resin panel or a plastic panel; and / orwherein the floor tray module comprises a stainless steel floor tray module, mild steel floor tray module, a resin floor tray module or a plastic floor tray module.

22. The modular bathroom kit according to any of claims 19 to 21, the kit comprising:a floor frame module, wherein during assembly on-site, the floor frame module is mountable to support the floor tray module.

23. The modular bathroom kit according to any of claims 19 to 22, the kit comprising a wall outer cladding, wherein during assembly on-site, the wall outer cladding is supportable by the wall module, the wall portion thereby being arrangeable between the wall module and the wall outer cladding, and the wall outer cladding thereby being arrangeable as a wall outer face.

24. The modular bathroom kit according to claim 23, wherein the wall module comprises a wall return flange, wherein during assembly on-site, the wall return flange is configurable to receive a portion of the wall frame and a portion of the wall outer cladding, the wall return flange forming a wall end face.

25. The modular bathroom kit according to claim 24, wherein the wall return flange comprises a slot, wherein during assembly on-site, the slot is configurable to have the tray perimeter wall extending therethrough.

26. A method of assembling a modular bathroom pod kit on-site at a custodial establishment, the modular bathroom kit comprising:a floor tray module, wherein the floor tray module comprises an impermeable tray base and an impermeable tray perimeter wall integral with the tray base; anda wall module, wherein the wall module comprises a wall frame and an impermeable wall inner cladding integral with the wall frame;the method of assembling on-site comprising:mounting the wall module on the tray base on an inner side of the tray perimeter wall and adjacent a wall portion of the tray perimeter wall whereby the wall inner cladding is arranged as a wall inner face and forms a primary fluid containment barrier and whereby the wall portion of the tray perimeter wall is arranged on the outer side of the wall module and forms a secondary fluid containment barrier.

27. The method according to claim 26, wherein the modular bathroom kit further comprises a floor frame module, and the method of assembling on-site further comprises:mounting the floor frame module to support the floor tray module.

28. The method according to claim 26 or 27, wherein the modular bathroom kit further comprises a wall outer cladding, and the method of assembling on-site further comprises:supporting the wall outer cladding by the wall module whereby the wall portion is arranged between the wall module and the wall outer cladding and the wall outer cladding is arranged as a wall outer face.

29. The method according claim 28, wherein the modular bathroom kit further comprises a wall return flange, and the method of assembling on-site further comprises:receiving a portion of the wall frame and a portion of the wall outer cladding in the wall return flange whereby the wall return flange forms a wall end face.

30. The method according to claim 29, wherein the wall return flange comprises a slot, and the method of assembly on on-site further comprises:extending the tray perimeter wall through the slot.

31.
