Hybrid time division and frequency division duplexer

Abstract

A duplexer 100 comprises an antenna 122 configured to transmit and receive electric signals. A first channel 118 includes a first resonator 106, and a second channel 120 includes a second resonator 112, where each channel is connected to the antenna. At least a first electric field-generating component 104, 108 is connected to a voltage source 102 and is configured to influence a frequency response and / or operating range of the first resonator 106. The resonators 106, 112 possess different operating frequencies. Influencing the frequency response and / or operating range of the first resonator 106 alters the bandwidth of the first channel 118. A method of using the duplexer 100 is also disclosed. The duplexer used in the method generates a second electric field by a second electric field-generating component 110, 114 connected to a voltage source 124. The second electric field influences a frequency response and / or operating frequency of a second resonator 112 of a second channel 120 connected to the antenna 122.
