Vacuum cleaner

Abstract

A vacuum cleaner comprises a suction motor for moving an incoming airflow from an air inlet to an air outlet, a primary dirt separator 210 for separating dirt from the incoming airflow, a secondary dirt separator located fluidly downstream of the primary dirt separator, and a bin assembly for collecting the dirt separated from the incoming airflow. The bin assembly comprises a bin body having an open end and surrounding the primary and secondary dirt separators, a bin base covering the open end and having a nozzle through the bin base defining a nozzle axis. The primary dirt separator comprises a core (202, fig 25) having a pair of shoulders 217, 218 defining a portion 228 that is generally U-shaped in cross-section in a plane normal to the nozzle axis and a first and second side portions 219, 220 that are planar and disposed on opposite sides on the U-shaped portion.
