Abstract

The process of making amine magnetic nanoparticle biocomposites from rice husk fiber and sugarcane fiber can be done in one step reaction process. The addition of different concentrations of amine sources gives different results in terms of the amount of amine functionalized on the magnetic surface of the nanoparticles. Rice husk and sugarcane bagasse are activated by delignification, washing, and drying. Rice husk fiber and sugarcane bagasse fiber are used as a matrix in the magnetic nanoparticle biocomposite. The combination of the basic material forming the magnetic and rice husk fiber and sugarcane bagasse fiber is carried out in a solvothermal reactor through heating and washing. The resulting biocomposite has specific functional groups in the form of amine groups that can be applied in the fields of biomedical, sensors, and advanced materials.
