Abstract

This article is a nut locking device that is attached to the threaded portion of a bolt that has been screwed into the nut until the screw tip protrudes, preventing the nut from loosening. The nut locking device has a pair of mountain-shaped operating parts on each end of a tightening part made of a spirally wound linear member. The pair of operating parts are approximately symmetrical with respect to an imaginary plane passing through the axis of the tightening part. When attaching the nut to the threaded portion, the operator places his / her fingers on the pair of operating parts farthest from the head of the bolt and screws it in until the opposite end presses against the nut. At this time, the tightening part tightens the threaded portion, so the nut locking device is fixed to the threaded portion in the screwed-in position and prevents the nut from loosening. To remove the nut from the threaded portion, the operator presses the pair of operating parts closest to the head of the bolt with his / her fingers toward each other. This widens the diameter of the tightening part, allowing it to be rotated in the direction of removal, and the nut locking device can be removed from the threaded portion by continuing to rotate it.
