Abstract

This article is a packaging container formed by molding a sheet-like blank shown in the reference development diagram using a press. The blank shown in the reference development diagram is folded in mountain folds indicated by the dashed lines and in valley folds indicated by the two-dot chain lines. The blank is pressed and heated during molding, melting the synthetic resin coating layer on the surface of the blank, crimping the blank, and maintaining its shape as a packaging container. After the outer edge of the blank is hemmed to a generally circular cross section, the outer edge is pressurized from above and below to form a hemmed portion with a generally elliptical cross section and flat portions on the top and bottom surfaces at the edge of the container, thereby improving overall strength and stably maintaining the shape of the container. When a lid sheet material for sealing this article is adhered to the hemmed portion, the flat portions on the top surface of the hemmed portion improve adhesion. The hemmed portion with a generally elliptical cross section improves strength in the direction parallel to the horizontal direction (lateral direction), making it suitable for wrap packaging.
