Abstract

(1) Automobiles are typically equipped with assist grips on the upper part of the left and right side walls (above the doors) of the vehicle body to help occupants maintain their seated posture while the vehicle is moving. (2) As shown in the reference exploded perspective views of the basic form and the modified form, the automobile assist grip of this product consists of an assist grip body and two brackets. This assist grip has a main gripping part and an extension gripping part. The main gripping part is the portion of the assist grip body between the two brackets. The extension gripping part is the portion of the assist grip body opposite to the bracket that is located approximately in the center. (3) Generally, the position of the seat can be adjusted in the front-to-back direction according to the occupant's preference. The occupant's position (position in the front-to-back direction of the vehicle body) will differ depending on whether the seat is positioned forward or backward. For this reason, with genuine assist grips, the length of the part that the occupant grips is limited, making them difficult to use depending on the seat position. In the automotive assist grip of this product, the occupant can grasp the main gripping part when the seat is positioned forward, and the extended gripping part when the seat is positioned backward. By doing so, the occupant can grasp the assist grip in the appropriate position, and can easily maintain a seated posture. (4) As described above based on the two reference exploded perspective views, this product consists of an assist grip body and two brackets, and the form of this product changes by changing how the two brackets are attached to the assist grip body. That is, as shown in the reference exploded perspective view of the basic form, the basic form is formed when the two brackets are attached to the assist grip body in their original orientation and order. On the other hand, as shown in the reference exploded perspective view of the modified form, the modified form is formed when the two brackets are reversed in the direction of the interior and exterior of the passenger compartment when this product is attached to the vehicle body, and are attached to the assist grip body in a state where they are swapped with each other.(5) As shown in the reference diagram illustrating the usage state in the basic form, in the basic form the assist grip body is mounted at a relatively high position, while in the modified form the assist grip body is mounted at a relatively low position. In this way, the height of the assist grip body can be changed according to the rider's physique, making it possible for both large and small riders to properly grasp the assist grip body.
