[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2020-45034 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0004] Incidentally, in lever members such as a main lever that are manufactured through a process in which a resin material is filled inside a molding die, it is desirable to be able to spread the resin material throughout the inside of the molding die at a relatively low pressure during this process to fill it evenly, but the configuration described in Patent Document 1 does not take this into consideration.

[0005] The present disclosure takes into consideration the above-mentioned facts and aims to provide a lever member, wiper lever assembly, and wiper blade that can spread and uniformly fill the resin material inside a molding die at relatively low pressure during the process of filling the resin material inside the molding die. [Means for solving the problem]

[0006] The lever member that solves the above problem is a resin lever member (16, 96, 102, 106) constituting a part of a wiper lever assembly (14) that supports a blade rubber (12), and includes a connecting portion (30) having a connecting shaft (86) to which a wiper arm is connected, a pair of arm portions (32) extending in opposite directions from the connecting portion, and a convex portion (92) formed in a central portion between an end of one of the arm portions opposite to the connecting portion and an end of the other of the arm portions opposite to the connecting portion and protruding from the connecting portion. The wiper lever assembly also includes the above lever member, a pair of wing members (18) provided on the side opposite to the connecting portion of one of the arm portions and the side opposite to the connecting portion of the other of the arm portions, respectively, and having gripping portions (60) for gripping the blade rubber, and a pair of yoke members (20) that connect the lever member and the pair of wing members and have gripping portions (84) for gripping the blade rubber. The wiper blade (10) also includes the blade rubber that wipes the wiping surface of the vehicle, and the wiper lever assembly that supports the blade rubber by the gripping portions of the pair of wing members and the gripping portions of the pair of yoke members gripping the blade rubber.

[0007] With this configuration, in the process of filling the interior of the molding die with the resin material, the resin material can be spread throughout the interior of the molding die at a relatively low pressure, filling it uniformly. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0009] A wiper blade 10 having a lever 16 of a first embodiment will be described with reference to Figs. 1 to 5.

[0010] 1 to 5, the wiper blade 10 of this embodiment is for wiping away water droplets and the like adhering to a wiping surface, which is the outer surface of a windshield glass of a vehicle. The wiper blade 10 of this embodiment is a wiper blade to which a structure called a tournament structure is applied, in which a wiper lever assembly is configured by connecting a plurality of levers hierarchically in a tournament table shape.

[0011] The wiper blade 10 is connected to the tip of a wiper arm (not shown) via a connecting clip 34, and is configured to receive a pressing force from the wiper arm toward the wiping surface of the windshield glass. The wiper arm, together with the wiper blade 10 and the wiper motor, constitutes a vehicle wiper device. The wiper arm rotates to one side and the other side about a pivot shaft (not shown), so that the wiper blade 10 moves back and forth (displaces) to one side and the other side in the wiping direction along the wiping surface of the windshield glass. The arrow UP shown in the figure indicates the upper side of the wiper blade 10 in the vertical direction. The upper side of the wiper blade 10 is in a direction that is approximately perpendicular to the wiping surface of the windshield glass. The arrow L shown in the figure indicates one side in the longitudinal direction of the wiper blade 10. The arrow FR shown in the figure indicates one side in the direction in which the wiper blade 10 moves back and forth. One side of the direction in which the wiper blade 10 reciprocates is directed toward the front side and diagonally downward of the vehicle when the vehicle wiper device is stopped. In the following description, the up-down direction of the wiper blade 10 and the longitudinal direction of the wiper blade 10 will be simply referred to as the up-down direction and the longitudinal direction, respectively. Moreover, one side and the other side of the direction in which the wiper blade 10 reciprocates will be referred to as the front side and the rear side, respectively.

[0012] As shown in Figures 4 and 5, the wiper blade 10 is composed of a blade rubber 12 for wiping the wiping surface of the windshield glass, a wiper lever assembly 14 that supports the blade rubber 12, and a connecting clip 34 that rotatably connects the wiper lever assembly 14 to the wiper arm.

[0013] The wiper lever assembly 14 is composed of a lever 16, which serves as a lever member to which the tip end of the wiper arm is connected in the longitudinal center, a pair of wing members 18, which are disposed continuously on both longitudinal sides of the lever 16 and which together with the lever 16 form an exterior design, and a pair of yoke members 20, which connect the lever 16 and the pair of wing members 18. The wiper lever assembly 14 is configured to support the blade rubber 12 by the pair of wing members 18 and the pair of yoke members 20.

[0014] (Blade rubber 12 composition) The blade rubber 12 is formed in an elongated shape from a rubber material such as EPDM (ethylene propylene diene rubber). The blade rubber 12 has a base 22 supported by the wiper lever assembly 14, and a wiping part 24 extending downward from the base 22, the lower end of which is pressed against the wiping surface of the windshield glass. A pair of backing grooves 26 opening on both sides in the front-rear direction are formed along the longitudinal direction in the base 22 of the blade rubber 12. Backings (not shown) made of metal leaf spring material are fitted into each of the backing grooves 26. These backings distribute the pressing force applied to the wiping surface by the wiper arm in the longitudinal direction of the blade rubber 12. In addition, a pair of support grooves 28 opening on both sides in the front-rear direction are formed along the longitudinal direction in the base 22 of the blade rubber 12 below the pair of backing grooves 26.

[0015] (Configuration of wiper lever assembly 14) As described above, the wiper lever assembly 14 is composed of the lever 16, the pair of wing members 18, and the pair of yoke members 20. When viewed from the front side, the wiper lever assembly 14 is formed in a shape that is approximately symmetrical in the longitudinal direction with respect to the portion where the wiper arm is connected.

[0016] (Lever 16 Configuration) The lever 16 is formed, for example, from a resin material and is formed long in the longitudinal direction. The lever 16 constitutes the longitudinal middle portion of the wiper lever assembly 14. The lever 16 has a connecting portion 30 at its longitudinal center, and a pair of arm portions 32 on both longitudinal sides of the connecting portion 30.

[0017] 6, the connecting portion 30 is formed in a rectangular frame shape when viewed from the top-bottom direction, and has a rectangular opening penetrating in the top-bottom direction. A connecting shaft 86, which will be described later, is provided inside the connecting portion 30. A connecting clip 34 is attached to the connecting shaft 86 so as to be rotatable around the connecting shaft 86, and the tip of the wiper arm is connected via the connecting clip 34.

[0018] The pair of arm portions 32 extend from the connecting portion 30 to one side and the other side in the longitudinal direction. These arm portions 32 have an open cross-sectional shape that is open downward when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the lever 16.

[0019] 5, the arm portion 32 includes an upper wall 36, a front wall 38 extending downward from the front end of the upper wall 36, and a rear wall 40 extending downward from the rear end of the upper wall 36. A yoke member placement recess 42 that is open on the lower side is formed along the longitudinal direction between the front wall 38 and the rear wall 40 of the arm portion 32. The upper surface of the arm portion 32 forms an inclined surface 32A that slopes upward toward the rear side.

[0020] (Configuration of wing member 18) 4 and 5, the pair of wing members 18 are formed in an elongated shape from, for example, a resin material, particularly the same resin material as the lever 16 in order to provide the same overall texture since the wing members 18 constitute a large part of the exterior design of the wiper blade 10. These wing members 18 are continuously disposed on one side and the other side of the lever 16 in the longitudinal direction. Each wing member 18 has an open cross-sectional shape that opens downward.

[0021] As shown in FIG. 5, each wing member 18 includes an upper wall 50, a front wall 52 extending downward from the front end of the upper wall 50, and a rear wall 54 extending downward from the rear end of the upper wall 50. A yoke member arrangement recess 56 with an open lower side is formed between the front wall 52 and the rear wall 54 of each wing member 18 along the longitudinal direction, and in the assembled state, a recess is formed continuously with the yoke member arrangement recess 42 of the lever 16. In this manner, the portion of each wing member 18 on the lever 16 side is configured similarly to the arm portion 32 of the lever 16. The upper surface of each wing member 18 is an inclined surface 18A that is inclined upward toward the rear side, similar to the upper surface of the arm portion 32. Each wing member 18 and the above-mentioned lever 16 form a blade main body 15 that constitutes the design surface side of the wiper blade 10.

[0022] Further, a gripping portion 60 for gripping the longitudinal end of the blade rubber 12 is formed at the end of each wing member 18 opposite the lever 16. The gripping portion 60 has a pair of front and rear gripping pieces 60A extending downward from the front wall 52 and the rear wall 54. The tips (lower ends) of the front and rear gripping pieces 60A are bent toward each other and fit into the pair of support grooves 28 described above. This allows the longitudinal end of the blade rubber 12 to be gripped (supported) by the gripping portion 60. In addition, a locking recess (not shown) is formed at one longitudinal end of the pair of support grooves 28 of the blade rubber 12, in which the tip of the gripping piece 60A is engaged, thereby preventing the blade rubber 12 from coming loose in the longitudinal direction from the wiper lever assembly 14.

[0023] (Regarding the yoke member 20) The pair of yoke components 20 are formed in an elongated shape in the longitudinal direction. Each yoke component 20 is formed by bending a metal plate cut into a predetermined shape. The configuration of one yoke component 20 and the other yoke component 20 are substantially the same.

[0024] 2 and 5, the arm portion 32 on one longitudinal side of the lever 16 is rotatably engaged with one of the yoke members 20. In addition, one of the wing members 18 arranged on one longitudinal side of the lever 16 is rotatably engaged with one of the yoke members 20. As a result, the lever 16 and one of the wing members 18 arranged on one longitudinal side of the lever 16 are rotatably connected in the longitudinal direction via one of the yoke members 20.

[0025] Similarly, the arm portion 32 on the other longitudinal side of the lever 16 is rotatably engaged with the other yoke member 20. Also, the other wing member 18 arranged on the other longitudinal side of the lever 16 is rotatably engaged with the other yoke member 20. As a result, the lever 16 and the other wing member 18 arranged on the other longitudinal side of the lever 16 are rotatably connected in the longitudinal direction via the other yoke member 20.

[0026] 3 and 5, gripping portions 84 for gripping a longitudinal intermediate portion of the blade rubber 12 are formed on both longitudinal ends of the yoke member 20. Each gripping portion 84 has a pair of front and rear gripping pieces 84A extending downward from the front and rear ends of the yoke member 20. The tips (lower ends) of the front and rear gripping pieces 84A are bent toward each other and are inserted from the other longitudinal ends into the pair of support grooves 28 described above to fit therein. This allows the longitudinal intermediate portion of the blade rubber 12 to be gripped (supported) by each gripping portion 84.

[0027] (Details of the lever 16) Next, the detailed structure of the lever 16 will be described.

[0028] As shown in FIG. 6, the connecting portion 30 of the lever 16 is formed in a rectangular frame shape when viewed from the top and bottom direction as described above, and is formed with a rectangular opening penetrating in the top and bottom direction. In detail, the connecting portion 30 of the lever 16 includes a pair of side wall portions 88 arranged at an interval in the front-back direction, which is the axial direction of the connecting shaft 86, and a pair of connecting wall portions 90 that connect the end portions on one side in the longitudinal direction and the other side in the longitudinal direction of the pair of side wall portions 88 in the front-back direction, respectively. The pair of side wall portions 88 are formed in a rectangular plate shape extending in the up-down direction and the longitudinal direction with the front-back direction as the thickness direction. In addition, the connecting shaft 86 is connected in the front-back direction to the intermediate portion in the up-down direction at the center portion in the longitudinal direction of the pair of side wall portions 88. In addition, the connecting shaft 86 is integrally formed from the resin material that forms the lever 16, and is formed in a cylindrical shape with the front-back direction as the axial direction.

[0029] As shown in Fig. 6 and Fig. 7, a convex portion 92 is formed in the center between the end of one arm portion 32 opposite to the connecting portion 30 and the end of the other arm portion 32 opposite to the connecting portion 30, in other words, in the center of the entire longitudinal length of the lever 16. This convex portion is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape protruding from the connecting portion 30. Note that the direction from the end of one arm portion 32 opposite to the connecting portion 30 to the end of the other arm portion 32 opposite to the connecting portion 30 coincides with the longitudinal direction of the wiper blade 10. As shown in Figs. 6 to 8, the convex portion 92 protrudes downward from the lower end (the end on the blade rubber 12 side) of the front side side wall portion 88. Also, as shown in Fig. 8, at least a part of the convex portion 92 and at least a part of the connecting shaft 86 are disposed at the same position in the longitudinal direction (a position where they overlap in the longitudinal direction) when viewed from the axial direction of the connecting shaft 86. In this embodiment, when viewed in the axial direction of the connecting shaft 86, most of the longitudinal direction of the protrusion 92 and most of the longitudinal direction of the connecting shaft 86 are disposed at the same position in the longitudinal direction.

[0030] Here, in FIG. 7, a path 94 of the resin material toward the inside of the molding die for manufacturing the lever 16 is shown by a two-dot chain line. As shown in this figure, in this embodiment, the position corresponding to the tip of the protruding portion 92 in the protruding direction is used as a gate 94A that communicates with a cavity in which the product part of the molding die is formed, and the inside of the molding die is filled with the resin material. The gate 94A is an entrance when the resin material is filled. The protruding portion 92 is a part that remains as a trace of where the gate was located in a part of the lever 16 as an unnecessary part of the lever 16 that is the product. The protruding portion 92 is also a part that is sometimes called a gate mark.

[0031] (Actions and Effects of the Present Embodiment) Next, the operation and effects of this embodiment will be described.

[0032] As shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 6 to Fig. 8, in the lever 16 constituting a part of the wiper blade 10 of the present embodiment described above, a convex portion 92 protruding from the connecting portion 30 is formed in the center between the end of one arm portion 32 opposite to the connecting portion 30 and the end of the other arm portion 32 opposite to the connecting portion 30. By filling the resin material inside the molding die with a position corresponding to the tip end of this convex portion 92 in the protruding direction as a gate 94A, the resin material is filled from the center of the entire length of the lever 16 in the longitudinal direction, so that the filling pressure for spreading the resin material can be made equal on one side in the longitudinal direction and the other side, and the filling pressure of the resin material can be made lower than when the position of the gate 94A is biased to one side in the longitudinal direction. This allows the resin material to be filled uniformly inside the molding die at a relatively low pressure.

[0033] In addition, in this embodiment, as viewed from the axial direction of the connecting shaft 86, most of the longitudinal direction of the protruding portion 92 and most of the longitudinal direction of the connecting shaft 86 are arranged at the same position in the longitudinal direction (position where they overlap in the longitudinal direction). In this configuration, the resin material filled from the protruding portion 92 side is quickly filled from one side wall portion 88 to the connecting shaft 86 side. This makes it possible to prevent or suppress the formation of a weld 100, which will be described later, on the connecting shaft 86, which is easily affected by forces such as the pressing force from the wiper arm and the wiping resistance of the wiper blade 10. In addition, in this embodiment, the pair of side wall portions 88 are connected via the connecting shaft 86. This makes it possible to quickly fill the resin material filled in one side wall portion 88 to the other side wall portion 88 via the connecting shaft 86.

[0034] In this embodiment, the protrusion 92 protrudes downward from the lower end (the end on the blade rubber 12 side) of one of the side walls 88. As a result, the protrusion 92 is disposed in a position different from the portion that constitutes the exterior design surface when the wiper blade 10 is in a usable state, so that the protrusion 92 is prevented from being visible and the design of the wiper blade 10 is not impaired.

[0035] (Lever 96 of the second embodiment) Next, a lever 96 of a second embodiment will be described with reference to Figures 9 and 10. Note that, in the lever 96 of the second embodiment, portions corresponding to the lever 16 of the first embodiment are given the same reference numerals as those corresponding to the lever 16 of the first embodiment, and descriptions thereof may be omitted.

[0036] 9 and 10, a recess 98 is formed in the connecting portion 30 of a lever 96 of this embodiment. This recess 98 is formed in the lower portion of the side wall portion 88 on the front side, and is configured so that the lower side is open. In addition, the protrusion 92 protrudes from a bottom 98A of the recess 98 toward the open end side (lower side) of the recess 98. The configuration of other parts of the lever 96 of this embodiment is similar to that of the lever 16 of the first embodiment.

[0037] In the lever 96 of the present embodiment described above, the position corresponding to the tip of the protruding portion 92 in the protruding direction is also used as the gate 94A to fill the interior of the molding die with resin material, so that the interior of the molding die can be filled with the resin material uniformly at a relatively low pressure.

[0038] Furthermore, in the lever 96 of this embodiment, the protrusion 92 protrudes from the bottom 98A of the recess 98 toward the open end side (lower side) of the recess 98. In other words, at least a part of the base end side of the protrusion direction of the protrusion 92 is disposed in a state of being housed inside the recess 98. This makes it possible to reduce or eliminate the amount of protrusion of the protrusion 92 from the lower end of the side wall portion 88.

[0039] 11 is a diagram showing the position of a weld 100 that is generated when a resin material is filled into a molding die for manufacturing the lever 96 of this embodiment. The weld 100 is a portion that is generated when resin materials flowing from different directions join together. As shown in this figure, in the lever 96 of this embodiment, the weld 100 is generated on both sides in the longitudinal direction of the rear side wall portion 88, but the weld 100 is not generated on the connecting shaft 86. This shows that the entire connecting shaft 86 is formed by resin flowing in the same direction.

[0040] 12 is a diagram corresponding to FIG. 11 and showing a lever 102 of a third embodiment in which the protrusion 92 is formed in the longitudinal center of the rear side wall 88. As shown in this figure, in the lever 102, a weld 100 is formed on each side in the longitudinal direction of the front side wall 88, but no weld 100 is formed on the connecting shaft 86. This shows that the entire connecting shaft 86 is formed by resin flow in the same direction.

[0041] As described above, by providing the protrusion 92, which is formed corresponding to the position of the gate 94A that communicates with the cavity in the molding die, in the longitudinal center of the levers 96, 102, it is possible to prevent or suppress the formation of the weld 100 in the connecting shaft 86. Note that FIG. 13 is a view corresponding to FIG. 11 and showing a lever 104 of a comparative example in which the protrusion 92 is formed in the longitudinal center of one of the connecting walls 90. In the lever 104 of the comparative example, the weld 100 is formed in the longitudinal center of the connecting shaft 86. As a result, the strength of the connecting shaft 86 is reduced compared to a configuration in which the weld 100 is not formed in the connecting shaft 86.

[0042] (Lever 106 of the fourth embodiment) Next, a lever 106 of a fourth embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 14. Note that the parts of the lever 106 of the fourth embodiment that correspond to the lever 16 of the first embodiment are given the same reference numerals as the parts of the lever 16 of the first embodiment, and the description thereof may be omitted.

[0043] 14, in the lever 106 of this embodiment, the connecting portion 30 is disposed offset in the axial direction of the connecting shaft 86 with respect to the pair of arm portions 32. The protrusion 92 protrudes from a side wall portion 88 of the connecting portion 30 on the arm portion 32 side. In other words, the rear side wall portion 88 of the connecting portion 30 and a part of the front side wall of the arm portion 32 are formed in common with each other, and the protrusion 92 is set on the shared side wall portion 88.

[0044] In the lever 106 of this embodiment described above, the resin material can be filled uniformly into the molding die with a relatively low pressure by using the position corresponding to the tip of the protruding portion 92 as the gate 94A and filling the inside of the molding die with the resin material. Moreover, the protruding portion 92 where the gate 94A is located is set on the rear side wall portion 88 of the connecting portion 30 which is formed in common with part of the front side wall of the arm portion 32, so that the resin material can be made to flow quickly from the position of the protruding portion 92 to both the connecting portion 30 and the pair of arm portions 32.

[0045] In the above embodiment, the wiper blade 10 is configured to have a tournament structure, but this is not limited to this. For example, the wiper blade may omit the yoke member and have gripping portions formed at both longitudinal ends of the lever 16 to grip the blade rubber 12. While one embodiment of the present disclosure has been described above, the present disclosure is not limited to the above, and it goes without saying that the present disclosure can be implemented in various other modified forms without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure.
