Abstract

To provide a color image display medium which, in display applications in which pixels are electrically driven, can achieve both high resolution and low power consumption, and, in printed matter applications in which pixels are not electrically driven, can achieve low cost, shortened printing time, moire-free printing, robustness against misalignment in on-demand processing, and high resistance to counterfeiting.SOLUTION: The color image display medium displays a color image using color difference pixels that are formed by overlapping a luminance pixel matrix in which a plurality of luminance pixels having luminance or brightness information are arranged in a two-dimensional grid pattern, and a color difference pixel matrix in which a plurality of color difference pixels in which tiny color differences are arranged in succession are arranged in a two-dimensional grid pattern, so that the luminance pixels and the color difference pixels overlap one-to-one.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
