Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a stretchable flame-retardant fabric and a textile product that are excellent not only in stretchability and flame retardancy but also in anti-pilling properties, and preferably also in water absorbency and elongation recovery rate under a high load. [Background technology]

[0002] Conventionally, flame-retardant fabrics have been used as work clothes for people engaged in work that may expose them to flames, such as firefighters, electric power companies, and chemical companies. These flame-retardant fabrics mainly use flame-retardant fibers such as meta-aramid fibers and para-aramid fibers, and it is generally considered difficult to impart elasticity to the fabrics.

[0003] In order to impart elasticity to fabrics using flame-retardant fibers, methods such as using elastic yarns (see, for example, Patent Documents 1, 2, and 3) and methods of twisting flame-retardant fibers and then heat-setting and untwisting them (see, for example, Patent Documents 4, 5, and 6) have been proposed. However, fabrics using elastic yarns have problems such as a rapid loss of stretchability during normal use and washing due to low heat resistance, flame retardancy, and chemical resistance, particularly chlorine resistance.

[0004] On the other hand, fabrics using flame-retardant fibers that have been twisted, then heat-set and untwisted have had the problem that stretchability decreases during weaving, post-processing steps and operations under high load, resulting in insufficient performance and quality as a fabric. Furthermore, these stretchable flame-retardant fabrics have the problem of pilling. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0005] [Patent Document 1] JP 2003-193314 A [Patent Document 2] JP 2006-124865 A [Patent Document 3] JP 2007-9378 A [Patent Document 4] JP 2001-248027 A [Patent Document 5] JP 2005-307429 A [Patent Document 6] JP 2008-190103 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0006] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above background, and an object of the present invention is to provide a stretchable flame-retardant fabric and textile product that are excellent not only in stretchability and flame retardancy but also in anti-pilling properties, and preferably also in water absorbency and elongation recovery rate under high load. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] As a result of intensive research into achieving the above-mentioned object, the inventors have found that by skillfully adjusting the types and ratios of fibers constituting the fabric, it is possible to obtain stretchable flame-retardant fabrics and textile products which are excellent not only in stretchability and flame retardancy but also in anti-pilling properties, and preferably also in water absorbency and elongation recovery rate under high load. Further intensive research has led to the completion of the present invention.

[0008] Thus, according to the present invention, there is provided "a stretchable flame-retardant fabric, characterized in that the fabric is made using a composite yarn containing a spun yarn containing a flame-retardant fiber having a limit oxygen index of 25 or more as measured according to JIS K7201, and a composite fiber in which two components are bonded together in a side-by-side or eccentric core-sheath configuration, the weight ratio of the composite fiber being within the range of 1 to 25% by weight of the fabric, and the fabric has an afterflame time of 2 seconds or less as measured according to JIS L1091 A-4 Method Appendix 8, and pilling of 3.0 or higher as measured according to JIS L1076 Method A (ICI 10 hr)."

[0009] In this case, it is preferable that the wicking measured according to ISO17617 is 3 seconds or less. It is also preferable that the flame-retardant fiber is one or more types of fiber selected from the group consisting of meta-aramid fiber, para-aramid fiber, polyparaphenylene benzoxazole fiber, polybenzimidazole fiber, polyimide fiber, polyetherimide fiber, polyamideimide fiber, carbon fiber, polyphenylene sulfide fiber, polyvinyl chloride fiber, flame-retardant rayon, modacrylic fiber, flame-retardant acrylic fiber, flame-retardant polyester fiber, flame-retardant vinylon fiber, melamine fiber, fluorine fiber, flame-retardant wool, and flame-retardant cotton. It is also preferable that the two components constituting the composite fiber are any combination selected from the group consisting of polytrimethylene terephthalate / polytrimethylene terephthalate, polytrimethylene terephthalate / polyethylene terephthalate, and polyethylene terephthalate / polyethylene terephthalate. It is also preferable that the composite fiber is plied or covered with the spun yarn. The fabric preferably has a warp and / or weft stretch recovery rate of 80% or more after being left for one week at a humidity of 95% and a temperature of 70° C. The fabric preferably has a warp and / or weft stretch recovery rate of 80% or more after being subjected to a load of 14.7 N for 35 days The fabric preferably has a warp and / or weft stretch recovery rate of 80% or more after being subjected to a load of 50 N or more 1,000 times at a rate of once per second.

[0010] The present invention also provides a textile product made from the stretchable flame-retardant fabric, the textile product being selected from the group consisting of protective clothing, fire-retardant clothing, fire-fighting clothing, rescue clothing, workwear, police uniforms, Self-Defense Force clothing, and military uniforms. Effect of the Invention

[0011] According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a stretchable flame-retardant fabric and a fiber product which are excellent not only in stretchability and flame retardancy but also in anti-pilling properties, and preferably also in water absorbency and elongation recovery rate under a high load. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0012] Hereinafter, the embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail. First, in the present invention, the composite yarn includes a spun yarn and a composite fiber. The spun yarn includes a flame-retardant fiber (hereinafter, sometimes simply referred to as a "flame-retardant fiber") having a limiting oxygen index of 25 or more as measured by JIS K7201. Examples of such flame-retardant fibers include meta-aramid fibers (meta-type fully aromatic polyamide fibers), para-aramid fibers (para-type fully aromatic polyamide fibers), polyparaphenylene benzoxazole fibers, polybenzimidazole fibers, polyimide fibers, polyetherimide fibers, polyamideimide fibers, carbon fibers, polyphenylene sulfide fibers, polyvinyl chloride fibers, flame-retardant rayon, modacrylic fibers, flame-retardant acrylic fibers, flame-retardant polyester fibers, flame-retardant vinylon fibers, melamine fibers, fluorine fibers, flame-retardant wool, and flame-retardant cotton. One or more of these flame-retardant fibers can be used.

[0013] Among them, meta-aramid fibers are preferred because they exhibit an excellent limiting oxygen index and have excellent mechanical properties. That is, metaphenylene isophthalamide fibers (commercially available products include "Conex Neo" (trade name) manufactured by Teijin Limited, "Conex" (trade name) manufactured by Teijin Limited, and "Nomex" (trade name) manufactured by DuPont) are useful. In particular, the use of easily dyeable meta-aramid fibers (commercially available products include "Conex Neo" (trade name) manufactured by Teijin Limited) is particularly preferred because it provides anti-pilling properties and water absorption properties. Furthermore, it is also preferred to mix para-aramid fibers, i.e., paraphenylene terephthalamide fibers (commercially available products include "Twaron" (trade name) manufactured by Teijin Limited, and "Kevlar" (trade name) manufactured by Toray DuPont Co., Ltd.), and coparaphenylene-3,4'-oxydiphenylene terephthalamide fibers (commercially available products include "Technora" (trade name) manufactured by Teijin Limited)).

[0014] These flame-retardant fibers may contain additives such as antioxidants, ultraviolet absorbers, heat stabilizers, flame retardants, titanium oxide, colorants, inert fine particles, etc., within the scope of the invention.

[0015] It is most preferable that the spun yarn is made of only the flame-retardant fibers, but it may contain non-flame-retardant fibers (fibers having a limiting oxygen index of less than 25 as measured by JIS K7201). In this case, examples of non-flame-retardant fibers include polyester fibers, nylon fibers, rayon fibers, polynosic fibers, lyocell fibers, acrylic fibers, vinylon fibers, cotton, hemp, wool, etc. One or more of these non-flame-retardant fibers can be used.

[0016] These non-flame retardant fibers may contain additives such as antioxidants, ultraviolet absorbers, heat stabilizers, flame retardants, titanium oxide, colorants, inert fine particles, etc., within the scope of the invention. In the above-mentioned flame-retardant fibers and non-flame-retardant fibers, the fiber length is preferably in the range of 35 to 110 mm.

[0017] In the spun yarn, the total fineness may be appropriately selected depending on the application, taking into consideration surface appearance, heat resistance, heat protection, stretchability, texture, etc., and the fineness of the spun yarn is particularly preferably in the range of 58 dtex (equivalent to British cotton count 100 single yarn) to 580 dtex (equivalent to British cotton count 10). The single fiber fineness of the spun yarn is preferably in the range of 0.6 to 5.5 dtex from the viewpoint of good spinning processability and use in clothing applications requiring softness.

[0018] In the spun yarn, the twist factor K is preferably in the range of 2.5 to 4.5 in terms of the physical properties and flexibility of the fabric, where T=K√n, where T is the number of twists per inch (2.54 cm), n is the English cotton count, and K is the twist factor. The spun yarn may be a single yarn or a two-ply yarn.

[0019] In the present invention, the composite fiber is a composite fiber in which two components are bonded together in a side-by-side or eccentric core-sheath configuration. The composite yarn contained in the fabric of the present invention contains not only the spun yarn but also such a composite fiber, so that the composite fiber takes the form of a three-dimensional coil crimp in the heat treatment process of the fabric, imparting elasticity to the composite yarn, and as a result, imparting elasticity to the fabric.

[0020] Examples of the two components forming the composite fiber include combinations of polyester / polyester, polyester / nylon, etc. More specifically, combinations of polytrimethylene terephthalate / polytrimethylene terephthalate, polytrimethylene terephthalate / polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene terephthalate / polyethylene terephthalate, etc. are preferred. In this case, it is preferred to make the intrinsic viscosities different from each other. In addition, additives such as antioxidants, ultraviolet absorbers, heat stabilizers, flame retardants, titanium oxide, colorants, and inert fine particles may be contained.

[0021] In the above-mentioned composite fiber, the shape of the fiber is not particularly limited, and may be a long fiber (multifilament) or a short fiber, but a long fiber (multifilament) is preferable in order to obtain excellent stretchability. The total fineness and single fiber fineness of the composite fiber are appropriately selected depending on the application, and the total fineness is preferably in the range of 20 to 200 dtex and the single fiber fineness is preferably in the range of 0.5 to 10.0 dtex.

[0022] In the present invention, the composite yarn contains the above-mentioned spun yarn and the above-mentioned composite fiber. In this case, the weight ratio of the composite fiber contained in the composite yarn is preferably within a range of 2 to 40% by weight (more preferably 4 to 30% by weight, particularly preferably 4 to 20% by weight) relative to the weight of the composite yarn in order to achieve both flame retardancy and stretchability.

[0023] In the composite yarn, the compounding method is not particularly limited, but it is preferable that the composite yarn is a plied yarn or a covered yarn. More specifically, it is preferable to use the spun yarn and the composite fiber and perform plied or covered using a commercially available up-twister, covering machine, Italian type twisting machine, double twister, etc. In this case, twist setting may be performed depending on the required quality. The twist setting of the composite plied yarn can be performed using vacuum steam setting used for setting of normal spun yarn. The temperature during setting of the composite plied yarn is preferably in the range of 50 to 95°C (more preferably 50 to 85°C). If the twist setting temperature of the composite plied yarn is too high, the stretchability of the finally obtained fabric may be impaired.

[0024] The stretchable flame-retardant fabric of the present invention is a fabric made using such composite yarn. In order to obtain excellent flame retardancy, the weight ratio of the flame-retardant fiber is preferably 75% by weight or more (preferably 75 to 95% by weight) relative to the weight of the fabric. In this case, the weight ratio of the non-flame-retardant fiber is less than 25% by weight. If the weight ratio of the flame-retardant fiber is less than 75% by weight, the flame retardancy may decrease.

[0025] It is also essential that the weight ratio of the composite fiber is within the range of 1 to 25% by weight (preferably 5 to 15% by weight) relative to the weight of the fabric. If the weight ratio of the composite fiber exceeds 25% by weight relative to the weight of the fabric, it is not preferable because the flame tends to propagate along the composite fiber and the fabric tends to burn. Conversely, if the weight ratio of the composite fiber is less than 1% by weight, the stretchability of the fabric may decrease, which is also not preferable.

[0026] The weave of the fabric is not particularly limited, but is preferably a woven fabric or a knitted fabric. Examples of woven fabrics include plain weaves, twill weaves, satin weaves, and ripstop versions of each weave. Examples of knitted fabrics include machine knitting, crochet knitting, knitting needle knitting, afghan knitting, and lace knitting. For example, in the case of woven fabrics, the composite yarn may be entirely arranged in the warp direction and / or weft direction, or the spun yarn and the composite yarn may be arranged in an arrangement ratio of, for example, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 1:2, or 1:3. The method of knitting and weaving is not particularly limited, and may be a method using a normal knitting machine or loom.

[0027] Next, the fabric is subjected to heat treatments such as scouring, relaxing, dyeing, and setting, so that the composite fibers contained in the fabric, in which two components are bonded together in a side-by-side or eccentric core-sheath configuration, take on the form of three-dimensional coil crimp, and the fabric is given elasticity.

[0028] In the dyeing process, a swelling agent may be used. As such a swelling agent, it is preferable to use at least one selected from methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, acetone, acetophenone, NMP, DMSO, DMF, ethylene glycol, acetonitrile, propylene, ethylene glycol phenyl ether, or commercially available swelling agents. It is preferable to use a swelling agent that takes into consideration the reduction of the environmental load in the dyeing environment (processing capacity, working environment, etc.).

[0029] Such fabrics may be additionally subjected to various types of processing to impart functions such as water absorption, water repellency, nap raising, flame retardancy, ultraviolet shielding, antibacterial properties, deodorant properties, insect repellent properties, phosphorescent properties, retroreflective properties, and negative ion generating properties.

[0030] The thus obtained fabric contains the composite yarn and therefore has excellent flame retardancy as well as excellent stretchability. When the fabric contains easily dyeable meta-aramid fiber, it also has excellent pilling resistance and water absorbency.

[0031] Here, the stretchability of the fabric is preferably such that the stretch rate in the warp and / or weft direction is within the range of 3 to 50% (more preferably 5 to 40%), and the stretch recovery rate in the warp and / or weft direction is preferably 70% or more (more preferably 80 to 99%).

[0032] The fabric preferably has a warp and / or weft stretch recovery rate of 80% or more after being left for one week at a humidity of 95% and a temperature of 70° C.

[0033] As for flammability and flame retardancy, it is essential that the after-flame time of the fabric measured according to JIS L1091 A-4 Method Appendix 8 is 2 seconds or less. The char length is preferably 8.0 cm or less. Also, the limiting oxygen index measured according to JIS K7201 is preferably 25 or more (more preferably 25 to 40).

[0034] As for the pilling resistance of the fabric, it is essential that the pilling level measured according to JIS L1076 A method (ICI 10 hr) is 3.0 or higher. As for the water absorbency, it is preferable that the wicking level measured according to ISO17617 is 3 seconds or less.

[0035] Next, the textile product of the present invention is made of the above-mentioned fabric. Since the textile product uses the above-mentioned fabric, it is excellent not only in elasticity and flame retardancy but also in anti-pilling properties. Such textile products include firefighting suits, fireproof suits, office uniforms, racing suits for motorsports, work clothes, gloves, hats, vests, various industrial materials (sheets, tents, membrane materials, hoods, building materials, housing materials, vehicle interior materials, etc.), etc. Furthermore, the work clothes include work clothes for ironworks and steel factories, work clothes for welding work, work clothes in explosion-proof areas, etc. Furthermore, the gloves include work gloves used in the aircraft industry, information equipment industry, precision equipment industry, etc. that handle precision parts. EXAMPLES

[0036] Examples and Comparative Examples of the present invention will now be described in detail, but the present invention is not limited thereto. The measurement items in the examples were measured by the following methods.

[0037] (1) Flame retardancy The limiting oxygen index (LOI) was measured according to JIS K7201:1999 (combustion test method for polymeric materials using the oxygen index method) and used as an index of flame retardancy. (2)Stretchability The elongation rate and elongation recovery rate were measured according to JIS L1096:2011 (Method B, constant load method). Measurements were taken in the warp and weft directions, and the larger value of the elongation rate was used. (3) Flammability According to JIS L1091 A-4 Method Appendix 8, after-flame time, after-glow time, char length was measured and used as an index of flammability. (4) Pilling measurement Pilling measurement was carried out according to JIS L1076 Method A (ICI 10 hr). (5) Wicking measurement Wicking measurements were performed according to ISO17617.

[0038] [Example 1] In the spinning process, staple fibers made of polymetaphenylene isophthalamide fiber (Teijin Limited's "Conex Neo" (product name)) having a single fiber fineness of 1.7 dtex, a cut length (fiber length) of 51 mm, and an LOI of 26, polyparaphenylene terephthalamide (PPTA) fiber (Teijin Limited's "Twaron" (product name)) having a single fiber fineness of 1.7 dtex, a cut length (fiber length) of 51 mm, and an LOI of 25, and staple fibers made of conductive fiber (Mitsubishi Chemical's "Corebrit ET10" (product name)) having a single fiber fineness of 3.3 dtex and a cut length (fiber length) of 38 mm were blended in a weight ratio of 93:5:2 in this order to obtain a single yarn with a twist number of 24T / 2.54 cm (twist coefficient = 3.4) and a British cotton count of 40.

[0039] On the other hand, as a composite fiber, we prepared a multifilament (long fiber) made by bonding two types of polytrimethylene terephthalate with different intrinsic viscosities in an eccentric core-sheath type, with a total fineness of 40 dtex / 24 filaments, an elongation of 26%, and a boiling water shrinkage rate of 55.0%.

[0040] Next, two of the spun yarns were combined and twisted in a double twister with a final twist number of 20.9T / 2.54cm, and then the twist was set in a vacuum steam setting machine at a setting temperature of 120°C for a setting time of 20 minutes to obtain a flame-retardant combined twisted yarn A.

[0041] In addition, two of the spun yarns and one composite fiber (multifilament) were combined and twisted using a double twister with a final twist number of 19.8T / 2.54cm. The yarn was then twisted and set using a vacuum steam setting machine at a setting temperature of 70°C for a setting time of 20 minutes to obtain composite yarn B.

[0042] Next, the flame-retardant twisted yarn A was used 100% for the warp yarn, and the composite yarn B was used 100% for the weft yarn, and the fabric was woven in a 2 / 1 twill weave with a warp density of 54 threads / 2.54 cm and weft density of 63 threads / 2.54 cm. The woven fabric was singed, scoured and set (at 180°C for 30 seconds) and then dyed as described below.

[0043] [Fabric dyeing processing method] The lightness L of the dyed fabric was adjusted to 69 (light color), 33 (dark color), or 49 (medium color) depending on the dye, regardless of the base fabric. In some cases, the fabric was re-dyed to accurately match the L value. The dyeing method was carried out under the following conditions. (Dyeing conditions) The dye bath was heated from room temperature at a rate of 2°C / min and dyed at 130°C for 60 minutes. Cationic dye (Kayacryl Blue GSL-ED) 3% owf Sodium nitrate 25g / l Acetic acid 1g / l Swelling agent 40g / l Bath ratio 1:20 The dyed goods obtained were washed in the following reducing bath. (Reduction cleaning conditions) Reduction bath: Hydrosulfite 1g / l, Sodium carbonate 1g / l Bath ratio: 1:20 Temperature x time: 90℃ x 20 minutes

[0044] The fabric was then dried in a dryer at 120° C., and then heat-treated at 160° C. for 30 seconds to obtain a dyed fabric. The resulting stretchable flame-retardant fabric had a fabric density of 68 warp threads / 2.54 cm, 64 weft threads / 2.54 cm, weight percentage of non-flame-retardant fibers was %, limit oxygen index was 29.0, weft elongation was 10.0%, and good stretchability was obtained, with elongation recovery rate of 85%. In addition, it had excellent anti-pilling properties and water absorbency. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1. Next, work clothes were obtained using the elastic flame-retardant fabric, and were found to have excellent elasticity and flame retardancy. Furthermore, when the material was stretched 1,000 times at 1 time / second with a load of 50 N, the elongation recovery rate was measured and was found to be 80%.

[0045] [Example 2] The spun yarn was produced in the spinning process by mixing: staple fibers made of polymetaphenylene isophthalamide fiber (Teijin Limited's "Conex Neo" (product name)) having a single fiber fineness of 1.7 dtex, a cut length (fiber length) of 51 mm, and an LOI of 26; staple fibers made of polyparaphenylene terephthalamide (PPTA) fiber (Teijin Limited's "Twaron" (product name)) having a single fiber fineness of 1.7 dtex, a cut length (fiber length) of 51 mm, and an LOI of 25; and staple fibers made of polyparaphenylene terephthalamide (PPTA) fiber (Teijin Limited's "Twaron" (product name)) having a single fiber fineness of 3.3 dtex, Conductive fiber ("Corebrit ET10" (product name) manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical) with a cut length (fiber length) of 38 mm and staple fiber made of polyethylene terephthalate fiber (manufactured by Teijin Limited) with a single fiber fineness of 1.7 dtex, cut length (fiber length) of 51 mm, and LOI of 21 were blended in the weight ratio of 84:5:2:9 in this order to obtain a single yarn with a twist number of 20.87T / 2.54cm (twist coefficient = 3.3) and British cotton count of 40. The rest of the process was the same as in Example 1. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1.

[0046] [Example 3] The procedure was the same as in Example 1, except that the composite fiber used was a multifilament (long fiber) having a total fineness of 84 dtex / 24 filaments, an elongation of 41%, and a boiling water shrinkage of 42.0%, which was made by bonding two types of polytrimethylene terephthalate having different intrinsic viscosities in an eccentric core-sheath type. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1.

[0047] [Example 4] Using only the same composite yarn B as in Example 1, knitting was performed using a 20-gauge single-knitting machine in the same manner as in Example 1. The evaluation results are shown in Table 1.

[0048] [Table 1]

[0049] [Comparative Example 1] The same procedure as in Example 1 was repeated except that the composite yarn B was not used and the warp and weft were woven using 100% flame-retardant twisted yarn A. The evaluation results are shown in Table 2.

[0050] [Comparative Example 2] The procedure was the same as in Example 1, except that the composite fiber used was a multifilament (long fiber) having a total fineness of 165 dtex / 24 filaments, an elongation of 41%, and a boiling water shrinkage of 42.0%, which was made by bonding two types of polytrimethylene terephthalate having different intrinsic viscosities in an eccentric core-sheath type. The evaluation results are shown in Table 2.

[0051] [Comparative Example 3] The composite yarn obtained in Comparative Example 2 was used 100% and knitted using a 20-gauge single-knitting machine in the same manner as in Example 1. The evaluation results are shown in Table 2.

[0052] [Comparative Example 4] The same procedures as in Example 1 were repeated except that the fibers used were changed to polymetaphenylene isophthalamide fibers ("Conex" (product name) manufactured by Teijin Limited) having a single fiber fineness of 1.7 dtex, a cut length (fiber length) of 51 mm, and an LOI of 32.
