Abstract

To provide a PTC heater that can maintain both protection and comfort.SOLUTION: A radiation heater 10 includes a heater main body portion 100, a detection unit 200 for detecting the resistance values of a first heating element 110 and a second heating element 130, and a control unit 400 for controlling the power supply to the first heating element and the second heating element. The heater main body portion includes the first heating element having a positive temperature coefficient characteristic, and the second heating element having a positive temperature coefficient characteristic and a Curie temperature higher than the Curie temperature of the first heating element. The control unit turns off the power supply to the second heating element while keeping the power supply to the first heating element in response to a temperature change in the heater temperature while the power supply to the first heating element and the second heating element is on and the heater temperature based on the resistance value of at least any one of the first heating element and the second heating element is within a predetermined sensor effective range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
