Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a decomposer composition for asphalt emulsion and its use. [Background technology]
[0002] Asphalt is the final refined product obtained after petroleum distillation to extract naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, diesel, etc., and has long been used as a paving material. Asphalt is a highly viscous semi-solid or solid at room temperature, and its high adhesiveness makes it very difficult to handle. As one method for improving the workability during handling at room temperature, the use of asphalt in a form emulsified in water using an emulsifier is known, and such emulsion is called asphalt emulsion. One method of classifying asphalt emulsions is to classify them as cationic, anionic, nonionic, etc. depending on the emulsifier used, and the majority of asphalt emulsions used for road paving are cationic asphalt emulsions.
[0003] Required properties of asphalt emulsion include storage stability from the time of its production until its use at the construction site, and mechanical stability so that the emulsion does not break down even when external forces such as shear and compression are applied by pumps used for transporting and spraying the emulsion. Furthermore, it is strongly desired that the asphalt emulsion separates into water and asphalt in a short time after being sprayed at the construction site. This is because if moisture remains in the asphalt, it will not achieve its inherent adhesiveness and will result in poor adhesion; however, after spraying asphalt emulsion, it is generally necessary to wait until the water in the agent has evaporated and fully decomposed, during which time traffic on the road must be restricted, resulting in a long time before the road can be reopened to traffic.
[0004] In order to solve such problems, a method of using a decomposer that breaks down the emulsion of the asphalt emulsion is known, and specific decomposers for cationic asphalt emulsions are proposed in Patent Documents 1 and 2. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0005] [Patent Document 1] JP 2017-122352 A [Patent Document 2] JP 2016-164345 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0006] However, the decomposition properties of the decomposing agents disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2 for asphalt emulsions are not sufficient. In addition, it is desirable for the decomposer to be water-based in order to reduce the safety of workers and the impact on the surrounding environment after construction. However, if a large amount of salts such as inorganic sulfates or condensed phosphates are mixed, the stability of the decomposer itself decreases, making it more likely to undergo phase separation or solid precipitation. In addition, if phase separation or solid precipitation occurs in the decomposer during spraying, it will not be possible to spray uniformly, resulting in uneven spraying, or problems such as solids clogging the pipes, which will not only prevent the asphalt emulsion from being fully decomposed, but may also cause equipment failure.
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide an asphalt emulsion decomposer composition which exhibits excellent decomposition ability for asphalt emulsion, is also excellent in stability, and enables uniform spraying. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] As a result of extensive research, the present inventors have found that the above problems can be solved by a decomposing agent composition for asphalt emulsion containing specific components, and have arrived at the present invention. That is, the decomposer composition for an asphalt emulsion of the present invention contains the following components (A) and (B). Component (A): Anionic surfactant Component (B): An organic compound whose solubility in water at 20°C is 20 g / 100 g or less
[0009] It is preferable that the decomposing agent composition for an asphalt emulsion of the present invention satisfies at least one of the following 1) to 6). 1) The component (B) has at least one group selected from an oxyalkylene group and a hydroxyl group. 2) The component (B) has a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms. 3) The molecular weight of the component (B) is 3,000 or less. 4) The content of the component (B) is 1 to 700 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the component (A). 5) The component (A) contains an anionic surfactant (a1) containing a sulfur atom. 6) Specific gravity at 20°C is 0.9 to 1.3.
[0010] The method for applying an asphalt pavement of the present invention includes the step of contacting the asphalt emulsion with the asphalt emulsion decomposer composition. Effect of the Invention
[0011] The asphalt emulsion decomposer composition of the present invention exhibits excellent decomposition properties for asphalt emulsions, and further has excellent stability and can be uniformly dispersed. The asphalt pavement application method of the present invention uses the above-mentioned asphalt emulsion decomposer composition, so that asphalt pavement can be applied efficiently. By containing component (B) having a predetermined hydrophobicity that exhibits the above-mentioned properties, the decomposer composition is thought to function as a compatibilizer between asphalt and component (A), reducing the function of the emulsifier in the asphalt emulsion to promote the destruction of oil droplets and enhance the effect of promoting the coalescence of asphalt, and further suppressing phase separation and solid precipitation in the decomposer composition, improving stability and making it possible to uniformly spray the decomposer composition. Component (B) excludes anionic surfactants.

If the content is 1 part by weight or more, the oil droplets of the asphalt emulsion tend to be broken down and the coalescence of the asphalt tends to be promoted, and if the content is 700 parts by weight or less, the stability of the decomposer composition tends to be improved. The decomposing agent composition may be sprayed simultaneously with the asphalt emulsion to bring the decomposing agent composition into contact with the asphalt emulsion, or the decomposing agent composition may be sprayed on top of the asphalt emulsion after it has been sprayed to bring the decomposing agent composition into contact with the asphalt emulsion. The decomposing agent composition and the asphalt emulsion may be heated before spraying.
[0041] Asphalt emulsions are sprayed onto roadbeds, base layers, and surface layers, and are also used for spray-on waterproofing of slopes, walls, etc., and the decomposition agent composition has excellent decomposability and can therefore also be used for these purposes. When spraying the decomposition composition, it is preferable to spray it in the form of a mist in order to make it uniform. For small-scale paving, an engine sprayer, gear sprayer, air sprayer, hand sprayer, airless pump sprayer, etc. may be used, and for large-scale paving, a device for spraying asphalt emulsion, such as an asphalt sprayer, asphalt distributor, or asphalt finisher with an emulsion spraying function, may be used. The amount of the decomposition agent composition to be sprayed is not particularly limited, but is preferably 10 parts by weight or more based on 100 parts by weight of the asphalt emulsion. [0048] [Asphalt emulsion decomposition test] On a slate board measuring 150 mm in length, 150 mm in width and 3 mm in thickness, 0.4 L / m of cationic asphalt emulsion PK-4 was applied. 2 The test substrate was then cured for at least 4 hours in thermostatic chambers at 5°C and 20°C, and the cationic asphalt emulsion and decomposer composition were cured for at least 4 hours in a thermostatic chamber at 20°C. 0.4 L / m of cationic asphalt emulsion PK-4 was applied to the test substrate cured at each temperature. 2 Then, immediately after spraying the decomposition composition at 10 wt% of the asphalt emulsion amount from above, the sample was returned to the thermostatic chambers at 5°C and 20°C and allowed to stand. The state of decomposition of the emulsion was observed 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes after spraying the decomposition composition. ○ Asphalt is coated and decomposed down to the lower layer △1 The surface is decomposed and a film is formed, but the lower layer contains undecomposed emulsion. △2 Decomposition occurred down to the bottom layer, but no film formed, and the aggregates settled. × Asphalt does not form a film, and undecomposed emulsion remains If the asphalt emulsion decomposed to the lower layer within 10 minutes and formed a film, it was considered to have passed; if the asphalt emulsion remained without decomposing even after 10 minutes, or if the separated asphalt did not form a film, it was considered to have failed.
