Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a hose connection. [Background technology]

[0002] Generally, when connecting a hose to other piping components, or when connecting hoses to each other, well-known connection methods are used, such as using a bamboo-shoot-shaped nipple, expanding the diameter of the hose end and inserting a connector into it, or fastening the connector thus constructed with a fastening fixture. Other hose connection methods include a connection method that uses a hose with a spiral outer ring protruding from the surface and a fitting with a spiral groove on the inner circumference (Patent Document 1), and a similar connection method has also been devised in the field of vacuum cleaners (Patent Document 2). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2006-226505 A [Patent Document 2] Public Disclosure No. 60-19886 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0004] When transporting objects using a hose, there is a problem that the pipe is easily clogged with material at the points where the inside diameter of the hose changes, especially at the hose connection points (narrowed points), which can lead to the hose bursting.Even if the hose does not burst, when the clogged material is released, a large force is applied due to the pulsation of the hose, which can lead to major problems in spraying work, such as workers being thrown away by the force. Similar problems can also occur during mechanical construction. For example, when a material hose is held by heavy machinery such as a crane to perform spraying work, or when a material hose is held by a UAV to perform spraying work, the pulsation of the hose can lead to problems such as the attachment attached to the heavy machinery or the UAV becoming uncontrollable, or the hose becoming twisted or deformed when the hose is reeled out or the aircraft turns.

[0005] A hose connection method has been devised that uses a hose with a spiral outer ring protruding from its surface and a joint with a spiral groove on its inner circumference (Patent Document 1), but if the gap between the hose and the joint is made large to prioritize ease of insertion, it is not possible to ensure airtightness, resulting in the problem of leakage of the transported material. Also, if the gap between the hose and the joint is made small to improve airtightness, friction between the hose and the joint increases, making it impossible to insert the hose all the way into the joint, and this causes problems such as a change in the inner diameter of the pipeline at the end of the joint. Furthermore, because no measures are taken to prevent the hose from rotating (pulling out), there is a possibility that the hose may be pulled out of the joint if a rotational force acts on the hose. As a countermeasure to this, a method has been devised in which an adhesive or solvent is applied to the spiral groove inside the joint, and then the hose is inserted to improve integration with the joint and sealing performance (Patent Document 1), but a hose connected in this way is difficult to remove, and there is a problem that the hose and joint members cannot be reused.

[0006] In addition to the connection methods described above, a method has been devised in which, when connecting a flexible hose with a spiral on its outer circumference to a fitting with a spiral groove on its inner circumference, the pitch of the spiral groove at the back of the fitting is made smaller than the spiral groove on the outer circumference of the flexible hose, compressing the flexible hose in the longitudinal direction at the back of the fitting and pressing the flexible hose against the inner circumference of the fitting, thereby ensuring airtightness and preventing rotation without using adhesives or solvents (Patent Document 2). However, with the connection method described above, it is difficult to securely insert a flexible hose with low elasticity deep into the fitting. If the hose is not securely inserted into the fitting, there will be places in the pipeline where the inner diameter changes, and the flexible hose inserted into the fitting will not be compressed, resulting in problems such as the inability to ensure airtightness and the ability to prevent rotation.

[0007] The present invention provides a connection device and connection method that can connect hoses to each other or to other components without changing the inner diameter of the pipeline in the process of transporting materials by forming a pipeline using a hose having a spiral outer ring protruding on the surface and a fitting having a spiral groove on the inner circumference, and that provides an anti-rotation and sealing effect due to compression from the outer periphery and in the axial direction acting on the hose, thereby preventing the transported material from leaking from the fitting. [Means for solving the problem]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0011] The present invention relates to a hose connection device having a spiral rib on its outer surface and a connection method using the same. The connection device according to the present invention is not limited to a material to be transported by the hose, and may be a gas or a liquid, and is provided with a mechanism for transporting such a fluid without leakage at the installation location of the connection device.

[0012] The basic structure and connection method of the connection device according to the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 1. Fig. 1(a) is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a state in which a hose 1 and a piping member 50 other than the hose are connected using the connection device. Fig. 1(b) is a schematic exploded view of each of the components connected in (a).

[0013] The hose 1 has a spiral rib 3 on its outer surface. For example, the hose 1 has a steel or resin spiral rib 3 attached to the outer surface of a synthetic resin pipe 2. The hose 1 is made of a material that expands and contracts according to the pressure applied to its inner surface, and the coil spring-like spiral rib 3 also expands and contracts accordingly.

[0014] In the process of connection using the connection device, the hose 1 is first inserted while being screwed into the first internal cylinder C, which has a spiral groove 35 on its inner surface that screws with the spiral rib 3 (FIG. 1(b)). At that time, as shown in FIG. 1(a), the tip of the hose 1 is screwed until a part of the tip of the hose 1 protrudes from the other end 32 of the first internal cylinder C. The appropriate length of the part of the hose 1 to be protruded will be described later.

[0015] 4 is a schematic side view illustrating the slit 36 of the first internal cylinder C. As shown in FIG. 4(a), the first internal cylinder C has a tapered portion L in which the outer surface near one end 31 is tapered. The inner surface into which the hose 1 is screwed is not tapered. The first inner cylinder C also has a slit 36 cut out at a certain length from the edge of one end 31 .

[0016] Next, the second internal cylinder D is pushed into the outside of the first internal cylinder C to which the hose 1 is screwed from one end 31 side so as to fit and be fitted. The second internal cylinder D has a corresponding tapered portion S whose inner surface is tapered so as to be tightly fitted. During this fitting process, the slits 36 bend so that the outer periphery on the one end 31 side of the first internal cylinder C shrinks, and the hose 1 is firmly crimped by the radially inward pressure generated by fitting the second internal cylinder D into the first internal cylinder C. For this function, it is preferable to provide 6 to 10 slits 36 at equal intervals around the axis P. The taper angle of the corresponding tapered portion S is θ3.

[0017] As one embodiment, the first internal cylinder C may have a tapered portion L whose outer circumference becomes smaller at a taper angle θ from near the center in the axial direction P toward the right, as shown in FIG. 4(a).

[0018] In another embodiment, the tapered portion may be formed of a first tapered portion L1 and a second tapered portion L2 having different taper angles so that the tightening force on the hose 1 is maximized at one end 31 of the first internal cylinder C when the two internal cylinders C, D are fitted together (Figure 4(b)). The effect of reducing friction between the two internal cylinders C and D and ensuring a secure fit is obtained by limiting the contact surface between the two internal cylinders C and D to the end (L1) of the first internal cylinder C. The taper angle is preferably 1 to 5°, with θ3>θ1>θ2.

[0019] By providing slits to the first internal cylinder C, even if the contact surface with the second internal cylinder D is limited to the end of the first internal cylinder C, the tightening effect on the hose 1 extends to the entire slit-processed portion, thereby providing a high degree of prevention of rotation (falling off).

[0020] Next, as shown in Fig. 1, a part of the first internal cylinder C is inserted into the first external cylinder A. The first external cylinder A has an annular protrusion 11 on its inner surface, the annular protrusion 11 having an inner diameter substantially the same as the inner diameter of the hose. Therefore, the first internal cylinder C is inserted until the end surface 4 of the part of the hose 1 protruding from the other end 32 of the first internal cylinder C comes into contact with the contact surface 12 of the annular protrusion 11.

[0021] Next, as shown in Fig. 1, the first external cylinder A has a helical thread 14 on its outer surface, and the second external cylinder B has a thread groove 24 on its inner surface at the other end 22 side to screw with the first external cylinder A, and these are screwed together to firmly connect the two external cylinders A and B. In a state in which the two external cylinders A and B are connected, that is, in a state in which the hose 1 is connected by the connection device according to the present invention, the internal space contains the two internal cylinders C and D and the hose 1 and is sealed. In this connected state, the second external cylinder B has an annular step portion 23 on its inner surface at one end 21 side that contacts the edge surface of the second internal cylinder, and the step portion 23 and the edge surface 41 of the second internal cylinder D contact each other at the contact surface 25 of the step portion 23. The more the second external cylinder B is screwed into the first external cylinder A, the more pressure is applied to the second internal cylinder D, the first internal cylinder C into which it is fitted, and the hose 1 screwed thereto in the leftward direction of the axis P via the contact surface 25. Since the end face 4 of the hose 1 is in contact with the first external cylinder at the contact surface 12, the part of the hose 1 protruding from the end face 4 of the first internal cylinder C is compressed in the axial P direction.

[0022] In this way, the integrated first internal cylinder C, hose 1, and second internal cylinder D are pushed into the first external cylinder A according to the amount of movement of the second external cylinder B being screwed into the first external cylinder A. As a result, the hose 1 is compressed in the axial direction P in the space between the first external cylinder A and the first internal cylinder C, and the flow path within the hose 1 is sealed.

[0023] In addition, in the process of screwing the first external cylinder A and the second external cylinder B, the second internal cylinder D is further fitted into the first internal cylinder C, so that the hose 1 receives further radially inward pressure from the inner surface of one end side of the first internal cylinder C, and is more strongly compressed with the first internal cylinder C. In other words, screwing the second external cylinder B into the first external cylinder A generates not only pressure on the hose 1 in the axial P direction, but also further pressure in the radially inward direction.

[0024] The rotational movement of the screw engagement between the first external cylinder A and the second external cylinder B does not act to loosen the engagement of the second internal cylinder D into the first internal cylinder C, and the movement of the second external cylinder B in the translation direction along the axis P toward the first external cylinder A acts to further tighten the engagement of the second internal cylinder D into the first internal cylinder C. As described below, this is achieved by making the second internal cylinder D and the second external cylinder B from different materials to reduce friction at their contact surfaces, thereby creating a structure in which the two internal cylinders C and D can freely rotate inside the two external cylinders A and B.

[0025] 1(a) shows a state in which a protruding portion of the hose 1 is compressed in the direction of the axis P when the hose 1 is connected using a connection device. In the figure, a portion of the hose 1 protruding between the other end 32 of the first inner cylinder C and the contact surface 12 of the first outer cylinder A is compressed, and the helical ribs of that portion are linearly shaped approximately perpendicular to the axis P in a side view.

[0026] This compression in the direction of axis P functions to prevent the conveyed material from leaking out of the flow path at the connection point where the connection device of the present invention is used. Therefore, the part of the hose 1 protruding from the end face 4 of the first internal cylinder C must have a length suitable for realizing this function. For example, it is preferable that the length be approximately the same as the spacing of the spiral ribs 3 of the hose 1 used. The upper limit of the length of the protruding portion of the hose 1 is, for example, within a range not exceeding twice the spiral spacing of the spiral rib 3 of the hose 1. If the length of the protruding portion of the hose 1 is too long, the inner diameter may become uneven due to deformation of the hose 1 caused by compression in the P axis direction, and problems may also occur with the sealing of the connection points.

[0027] When a compressive force is applied to the hose 1, the amount of play in the spiral groove of the first internal cylinder C into which the spiral thread of the hose 1 screws decreases, and the hose 1 expands in the outer circumferential direction (radially outward), increasing the contact pressure between the hose 1 and the first internal cylinder C and increasing the frictional force. This further suppresses rotational loosening between the hose 1 and the first internal cylinder C, and further seals the flow path within the hose 1. The restoring force (compression resistance) of the hose 1 also reduces the amount of play in the screw structure between the screw groove 24 of the second external cylinder B and the screw thread 14 of the first external cylinder A. This also makes it possible to suppress loosening of the screw connection between the two external cylinders A and B.

[0028] The method of connecting the two external cylinder bodies A and B is preferably by screwing together the screw thread 14 on the outer surface of the first external cylinder body A and the screw groove 24 on the inner surface of the second external cylinder body B, but is not limited to a screw structure as long as the mechanism is capable of adjusting the amount of relative movement between the two external cylinder bodies A and B and firmly connecting them.

[0029] FIG. 1 shows an example in which the connection device of the present invention is used to connect a hose 1 and a piping member 50 other than a hose. An example is shown in which the piping member 50 is connected from the left side of the first external cylinder A in the drawing via a connector 51 for connecting the piping member 50 to the connection device of the present invention. The connector 51 may be manufactured integrally with the piping member 50. The connection method may be such that a thread 56 is provided on the outer surface of the connector 51 and a thread groove 16 is provided on the inner surface of the first external cylinder A side, as shown in the drawing, and the two are joined by screwing. It is also desirable that the connection portion between the piping member 50 and the first external cylinder A has a structure that does not change the inner diameter of the piping member 50. The piping members 50 and the connectors 51 other than the hose are not part of the connection device according to the present invention, and do not limit the present invention.

[0030] As a modified example, the first external cylinder A may be provided with a swivel mechanism 60 at the end opposite to the end screwed with the second external cylinder B (FIG. 3(a)). By providing the first external cylinder A with the swivel mechanism 60, which is a rotatable joint, even if the inner and outer cylinders A, B, C, and D and the hose 1 rotate together, the rotational force is quickly released by the swivel mechanism 60, so that the risk of twisting or deformation occurring in the opposing piping components can be significantly reduced. The swivel mechanism 60 may be of a known structure, and is preferably manufactured integrally with the first external cylinder body A, but may also be manufactured as a separate member and provided on the first external cylinder body. In any case, the structure that does not change the inside diameter of the hose 1, which is a feature of the present invention, must be maintained.

[0031] As another embodiment, as shown in Fig. 2, the connection device according to the present invention may be used as a connection device between hoses 1. In this case, the first external cylinder A has the structure on the right side of Fig. 1 also on the left side, that is, both ends have the same structure. Therefore, it is configured so that the first internal cylinder C can be inserted from both ends. Since the structure described above is the same and the method of connecting the hoses 1 is also the same, the explanation will be omitted.

[0032] The connection device described with reference to FIG. 1 and the connection device (FIG. 2) used for connecting hoses 1 to each other are common in that they have a configuration that does not change the inner diameter of the hose of the flow path through which the transported material passes. Generally, when connecting a hose to other piping components, or when connecting hoses to each other, well-known connection methods are used, such as using a bamboo-shoot-shaped nipple, expanding the diameter of the hose end and inserting a connector inside it, or tightening a connector constructed in this way with a fastening fixture. However, all of these methods have the problem of causing a change in the inside diameter of the piping at the point where the connector is inserted. In contrast, the connection device of the present invention has a spiral outer ring protruding from the surface of the hose 1 screwed into the spiral groove 35 of the inner cylinder C, so there is no need to use a connector such as the bamboo-shoot-shaped nipple mentioned above, and there is no change in the inner diameter when the hose is connected.

[0033] As a modified example, similar to the connection device described using Fig. 1, the connection device used to connect hoses 1 together may also have a swivel mechanism 60 in the first outer cylinder A (Fig. 3(b)). With this, even if the inner and outer cylinders A, B, C, and D and the hose 1 rotate together, the rotational force is quickly released by the swivel mechanism 60, so that the risk of twisting or deformation of the opposing hoses 1 can be significantly reduced. It is preferable that a swivel mechanism 60 is provided at the position of line K in FIG. 2(b) and is fabricated integrally with the first external cylinder body A.

[0034] In the case of connecting the hose 1 to a piping member 50 other than a hose, or in the case of connecting hoses 1 to each other, the connection device according to the present invention can be configured so that in a connected state of the hose 1 in which the hose 1 and each of the cylinders A, B, C, and D are connected, the two internal cylinders C and D are not fixed inside the two external cylinders A and B but can rotate. This can be achieved by selecting a combination of materials for the second internal cylinder D and the second external cylinder B, or by smoothly processing the contact surface between the second internal cylinder D and the second external cylinder B. A typical combination of materials is, for example, a combination in which the second internal cylinder D is made of metal and the second external cylinder B is made of resin such as polyvinyl chloride (vinyl chloride). The hose 1, the first inner cylinder C, and the second inner cylinder D are fixed to one another by the screwing of the hose 1 and the first inner cylinder C, the fitting of the second inner cylinder D into the first inner cylinder C, and the resulting radially inward pressure on the hose 1. This mutual fixing force is also firmly maintained against the friction force between the end face 4 of the hose 1 and the contact surface 12 of the first outer cylinder A that acts in a direction that inhibits rotation of the hose 1 in the circumferential direction.

[0035] If the surface is not smoothed and the same material is used, the friction between the second external cylinder B and the second internal cylinder D will be large, and when the external cylinder B is rotated, the internal cylinder D will also rotate, so that the rotation of the external cylinders A and B will affect the fitting condition of the internal cylinders C and D. The configuration of the present invention allows the two inner cylindrical bodies C, D to rotate inside the two outer cylindrical bodies A, B when a rotational force is applied to the hose in the circumferential direction.

[0036] Furthermore, with this configuration, in the process of screwing the second external cylinder B onto the first external cylinder A, the second internal cylinder D does not rotate relative to the first internal cylinder C to which the hose 1 is screwed, in other words, the two external cylinders A and B can be screwed together without affecting the fitted state of the two internal cylinders C and D. This maintains the state in which the first internal cylinder C is crimped onto the hose 1, suppressing loosening of the rotation of the hose 1 (exerting a wedge effect), and the process of connecting the two external cylinders A and B does not affect the airtightness of the flow path formed using the connection device.

[0037] In addition, in order to prevent the two external cylinders A, B and the two internal cylinders C, D from rotating together, this can also be achieved by making the inner diameter of the first external cylinder A greater than or equal to the outer diameter of the second internal cylinder D and the inner diameter of the second external cylinder B greater than or equal to the outer diameter of the second internal cylinder D. However, if the difference between the inner diameter of the first external cylinder A and the outer diameter of the second internal cylinder D is too large, the axis of the hose 1 will be misaligned and the straightness of the hose 1 will be impaired in the internal space formed by the joining of the two external cylinders, so it is preferable to make the diameters approximately the same.

[0038] In any of the above-mentioned embodiments and modified examples, the inner diameter of the pipe of the flow path of the transported material does not change, so that clogging of the transported material and blockage inside the hose can be avoided. Furthermore, by connecting using the connecting device according to the present invention, the hose 1 is compressed in the axial direction P and in the radially inward direction, improving the sealing of the flow path of the transported material, and the hose 1 will not fall out of the first internal cylinder C even if a rotational force acts on the hose 1. Furthermore, the swivel mechanism 60 can prevent the hose 1 from twisting.

[0039] The hose connection device and connection method according to the present invention are not limited to the exemplary embodiments described above or shown in the drawings, but include various embodiments such as various materials, installation order, connection modes, size of each component, and combinations with well-known or commonly used technologies, within the scope that does not deviate from the gist of the claims.
