Abstract

To provide a batten guide device for a sail capable of hoisting the sail without having the batten being caught even when lateral force is working on the sail by the wind when hoisting or bringing down the sail.SOLUTION: A sail 5 is capable of being hoisted without having a batten 4 attached to the sail 5 being caught by batten guide ropes 6 since the batten guide ropes 6 are attached to hold the inner side from a rear end unit of the batten 4 from both the right and the left to be almost in parallel with a mast even when lateral force is working on the sail by the wind when the sail 5 is being hoisted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
