[0011] Next, a joint according to the present invention will be described below by way of preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. Note that the embodiments and drawings described below exemplify a portion of the embodiments of the present invention, and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention to these configurations, and can be modified as appropriate within the scope of the present invention.
[0012] (First embodiment) As shown in FIG. 1 , a fitting 10 according to the first embodiment includes a fitting body 12 into which a pipe 100 is inserted, and a plurality of plate members 14 that are disposed on the fitting body 12 and can bite into the pipe 100. The fitting 10 is a socket that connects two pipes 100, and pipe connection portions 16 for connecting the pipes 100 are provided symmetrically across the axial center of the fitting 10. Because the two pipe connection portions 16 in the fitting 10 have the same configuration, the following description will focus on one of the pipe connection portions 16, and the description of the other pipe connection portion 16 will be omitted. In addition, in the following description, the side of the fitting 10 into which the pipe 100 is inserted will be referred to as the front side, and the opposite side will be referred to as the rear side. In other words, in the fitting 10, the opening into which the pipe 100 is inserted is the front side, and the axial center of the fitting 10 is the rear side.
[0013] As shown in Figure 2, the joint body 12 is a cylindrical member that is open on both axial sides. The joint body 12 is not particularly limited, but can be an injection-molded product made of synthetic resin. A protrusion 12a is formed around the entire circumferential direction at the axial center of the inside of the joint body 12, so that the piping 100 inserted into the joint body 12 can be positioned by abutting on the protrusion 12a (see Figure 4). The joint body 12 also has an O-ring 18 installed in an installation portion 16a formed on the inside of the joint body 12. When the piping 100 is inserted into the joint body 12, the O-ring 18 fits onto the outside of the piping 100 to seal the gap between the piping 100 and the joint body 12.
[0014] As shown in Figure 5, the joint body 12 is equipped with an attachment receiving portion 20 for attaching a plate member 14, and an opening 30 formed on the rear side of the attachment receiving portion 20 and penetrating the joint body 12. The joint body 12 is provided with a plurality of attachment receiving portions 20 (three in this embodiment) spaced apart in the circumferential direction (see Figure 3), and an opening 30 is provided on the rear side of each attachment receiving portion 20. In the joint 10 of this embodiment, the locking portions 14b of the plate members 14 attached to each of the three attachment receiving portions 20 arranged at regular intervals in the circumferential direction protrude into the inside of the pipe connection portion 16 through the opening 30 (see Figure 5), and the three plate members 14 arranged at regular intervals in the circumferential direction prevent the pipe 100 inserted into the joint body 12 from coming loose (see Figure 4). In the joint body 12, the attachment receiving portion 20 and the opening 30 are provided on the front side of the O-ring 18, and the plate member 14 abuts against the pipe 100 on the front side of the sealing position by the O-ring 18.
[0015] As shown in FIG. 6, the plate member 14 is a flat member having an attachment portion 14a attached to the attachment receiving portion 20 and a locking portion 14b bent from the attachment portion 14a and protruding inward of the pipe connection portion 16 of the fitting body 12. The plate member 14 is made of a springy material such as metal. The attachment portion 14a is formed to be wider than the locking portion 14b, and the plate member 14 is "T" shaped in a plan view. The locking portion 14b extends from the attachment portion 14a to the rear side and protrudes into the inside of the fitting body 12 through an opening 30 formed in the fitting body 12. The locking portion 14b is inclined toward the inside of the fitting body 12 from the front side (the insertion start end of the pipe 100) to the rear side (the insertion end of the pipe 100), so that the tip of the locking portion 14b can bite into the outer peripheral surface of the pipe 100. The locking portions 14b are elastically deformable inward and outward directions, and are elastically deformed outward when the tips of the locking portions 14b come into contact with the piping 100. The plate member 14 of this embodiment is flat and extends linearly in the horizontal direction, and the tips of the locking portions 14b that extend linearly in the horizontal direction have a shape that differs from the arc-shaped outer peripheral surface of the piping 100. By forming the tips of the locking portions 14b in a linear shape in this way, when the tips of the locking portions 14b come into contact with the arc-shaped outer peripheral surface of the piping 100, force is concentrated at the contact point of the locking portions 14b, making it easier for the locking portions 14b to bite into the piping 100.
[0016] The attachment receiver 20 of this embodiment will be described with reference to Figures 6 and 7. The attachment receiver 20 uses a mechanical joining structure called a snap fit, which utilizes the elasticity of the plate member 14 and / or the attachment receiver 20 itself to enable the plate member 14 to be attached to and detached from the attachment receiver 20. Specifically, the attachment receiver 20 has an inner receiver 22 that receives the attachment portion 14a from the inside, and an outer receiver 24 that receives the attachment portion 14a from the outside.
[0017] The inner receiving portion 22 is flat and has a width smaller than that of the mounting portion 14a, and is set to have a width substantially the same as that of the locking portion 14b. The inner receiving portion 22 has a restricting protrusion 22a that restricts movement of the mounting portion 14a toward the front side. The restricting protrusion 22a is formed on the front edge of the inner receiving portion 22 and protrudes from the outer surface of the inner receiving portion 22. In a side view, the restricting protrusion 22a is formed in a triangular shape such that the surface facing the front side slopes outward as it moves from the front side to the rear side, and the surface facing the rear side extends inward and outward (see FIG. 7).
[0018] As shown in FIG. 6 , the mounting receiver 20 has a pair of outer receiving portions 24 provided on both lateral sides of the inner receiving portion 22, and the pair of outer receiving portions 24 are formed symmetrically with the inner receiving portion 22 in between. The outer receiving portions 24 are formed in a hook shape with their distal ends bent toward the inner receiving portion 22. More specifically, the outer receiving portion 24 has a lateral restricting piece 26a that restricts lateral movement of the mounting portion 14a, a rear restricting piece 26b that restricts movement of the mounting portion 14a toward the rear, and an outer restricting piece 26c that restricts outward movement of the mounting portion 14a. The outer receiving portion 24 is closed on the lateral, rear, and outer sides, but is open on the inner receiving portion 22 side and front side, allowing the plate member 14 to be inserted from the front side.
[0019] The lateral restriction pieces 26a protrude from the outer surface of the joint body 12 and are formed like walls extending along the side edges of the inner receiving portion 22. The lateral restriction pieces 26a are arranged at a distance from the side edges of the inner receiving portion 22. The mounting portion 14a is arranged between the two lateral restriction pieces 26a arranged on either side of the inner receiving portion 22 in the pair of outer receiving portions 24, and the mounting portion 14a is positioned in the lateral direction by the two lateral restriction pieces 26a. The distance between the two lateral restriction pieces 26a arranged on either side of the inner receiving portion 22 in the pair of outer receiving portions 24 is set to be the same as or approximately the same as the lateral width of the mounting portion 14a.
[0020] The rear restricting piece 26b protrudes from the outer surface of the joint body 12 and is formed like a wall extending laterally from the rear end of the lateral restricting piece 26a toward the inner receiving part 22. An overhanging portion of the mounting part 14a that protrudes laterally beyond the locking part 14b is disposed between the rear restricting piece 26b of the outer receiving part 24 and the restricting protrusion 22a of the inner receiving part 22, and the mounting part 14a is positioned in the axial direction by the rear restricting piece 26b and the restricting protrusion 22a. The axial distance between the rear restricting piece 26b of the outer receiving part 24 and the restricting protrusion 22a of the inner receiving part 22 is set to be the same as or approximately the same as the axial dimension of the mounting part 14a.
[0021] The outer regulating piece 26c is formed in a eaves shape extending laterally from the tip of the lateral regulating piece 26a toward the inner receiving portion 22. The outer regulating piece 26c is arranged so as not to overlap the outer side of the inner receiving portion 22. A protruding portion of the mounting portion 14a that protrudes laterally beyond the locking portion 14b is arranged inside the outer regulating piece 26c, and the mounting portion 14a is positioned in the inward and outward directions by the inner receiving portion 22 and the outer regulating piece 26c. The distance in the inward and outward directions between the outer regulating piece 26c of the outer receiving portion 24 and the inner receiving portion 22 is set to be equal to or greater than the plate thickness of the mounting portion 14a. The distance between the two outer regulating pieces 26c arranged on either side of the inner receiving portion 22 in the pair of outer receiving portions 24 is set to be equal to or greater than the lateral width of the locking portion 14b.
[0022] A brief description will be given of how the plate member 14 is attached to the attachment receiver 20. The locking portion 14b of the plate member 14 is passed between the two outer regulating pieces 26c of the attachment receiver 20 from the front side, and the protruding portion of the attachment portion 14a is inserted into the inside of the outer regulating piece 26c from the front side. When the lateral center portion of the attachment portion 14a climbs over the regulating protrusion 22a of the inner receiver 22, the attachment portion 14a is positioned on the attachment receiver 20, and at this time, the locking portion 14b is inserted into the opening 30 that opens on the back side of the attachment receiver 20.
[0023] The connection between the fitting body 12 and the piping 100 will be briefly described. When the piping 100 is inserted into the fitting body 12, the locking portion 14b protruding inward from the fitting body 12 is pushed by the piping 100 and elastically deforms outward, allowing the piping 100 to be inserted past the locking portion 14b. The tip of the piping 100 abuts the protrusion 12a, restricting movement toward the rear. The outer peripheral surface of the piping 100 is sealed with an O-ring 18, and the tip of the locking portion 14b presses down on the piping 100. The locking portion 14b restricts movement of the piping 100 toward the front, preventing the piping 100 from coming loose from the fitting body 12. In particular, tilting the locking portion 14b inward from the front to the rear of the fitting body 12 makes it easier for the tip of the locking portion 14b to bite into the outer peripheral surface of the piping 100, and the locking portion 14b functions like a barb, which is preferable.
[0024] The joint 10 uses a plurality of plate members 14 capable of biting into the pipe 100 as members for retaining the pipe 100. The plate members 14 can have a simpler shape than conventional retainers such as toothed washers. Furthermore, the plate members 14 have a higher yield and are easier to manufacture than conventional retainers such as toothed washers, so the cost of retaining the pipe 100 can be reduced. Furthermore, the joint 10 retains the pipe 100 using a plurality of plate members 14, so the shape of each plate member 14 can be simplified. Furthermore, the plate members 14 can be shared among joints 10 with different pipe diameters. Furthermore, it is easy to use plate members 14 with different spring properties or to change the number of plate members 14, so the retention performance of the pipe 100 can be easily adjusted.
[0025] The plate member 14 has an attachment portion 14a attached to an attachment receiving portion 20 provided on the joint body 12, and a locking portion 14b bent from the attachment portion 14a and protruding inward of the joint body 12. In this way, the plate member 14 has the attachment portion 14a fixed to the attachment receiving portion 20 of the joint body 12, and the locking portion 14b can press down on the piping 100 and appropriately prevent it from coming loose. By appropriately utilizing the spring properties of the plate member 14, the plate member 14 can be made to bite firmly into the piping 100. Furthermore, because the locking portion 14b protrudes inward of the joint body 12 through an opening 30 formed in the joint body 12, the locking portion 14b can be more reliably abutted against the piping 100 inserted into the joint body 12, and the locking portion 14b can be made to bite into the piping 100.
[0026] (Second embodiment) In the first embodiment, the joint body 12 having the attachment receiving portion 20 is configured from a single member, but as in the second embodiment shown in Figures 8 to 15, the joint body 42 may be configured from multiple members. The joint 40 of the second embodiment also exhibits the same effects as the first embodiment. In the description of the second embodiment, the same components as in the first embodiment are assigned the same reference numerals as in the first embodiment, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0027] As shown in FIG. 8 , a joint 40 according to the second embodiment includes a joint body 42 into which a pipe 100 is inserted, and a plurality of plate members 44 that are disposed on the joint body 42 and can bite into the pipe 100. The joint body 42 of the second embodiment includes a first member 48 provided with an attachment receiving portion 52 to which the plate member 44 is attached, and a second member 50 disposed on the outside of the first member 48 and covering the outside of the plate member 44. The joint body 42 of the second embodiment includes a pipe connection portion 46 formed by one first member 48 and one side of the second member 50, and a pipe connection portion 46 formed by the other side of the first member 48 and the second member 50, which are arranged symmetrically (see FIG. 10 ). The two pipe connection portions 46 in the joint 40 have the same configuration, and therefore, in the following description, only one pipe connection portion 46 will be described, and a description of the other pipe connection portion 46 will be omitted.
[0028] 8, the plate member 44 is a flat member having an attachment portion 44a that is attached to the attachment receiving portion 52 of the joint body 42, and a locking portion 44b that is bent from the attachment portion 44a and protrudes inward of the joint body 42. An attachment hole 44c that fits onto an attachment protrusion 52b of the attachment receiving portion 52, which will be described later, is formed through the attachment portion 44a. The plate member 44 of the second embodiment differs from the plate member 14 of the first embodiment in that the lateral width of the attachment portion 44a and the lateral width of the locking portion 44b are the same and in that the attachment portion 44a has an attachment hole 44c, but the other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment.
[0029] The first member 48 will be described with reference to FIGS. 12 and 13. The first member 48 is a cylindrical member that is open on both axial ends. The first member 48 may be, but is not limited to, an injection-molded product made of synthetic resin. The first member 48 includes an attachment receiving portion 52 for attaching the plate member 44, a claw portion 54 for attaching the first member 48 to the second member 49, and a notch portion 56 formed on the rear side of the attachment receiving portion 52. The first member 48 is provided with a plurality of attachment receiving portions 52 (three in this embodiment) spaced apart in the circumferential direction. The attachment receiving portion 52 has a receiving surface 52a that protrudes outward from the outer circumferential surface of the first member 48, and an attachment protrusion 52b protrudes from the center of the receiving surface 52a. The circumferential width of the receiving surface 52a is set to be the same as or approximately the same as the lateral width of the plate member 44 (see FIG. 9). Furthermore, the first member 48 is provided with a plurality of claws 54 (three in this embodiment) spaced apart in the circumferential direction. The claws 54 are configured to be elastically deformable inward and outward, and have protrusions 54a that protrude outward at the front end. The claws 54 are arranged circumferentially offset from the attachment receiving portion 52, and the first member 48 is provided with a plurality of claws 54 (three in this embodiment) spaced apart in the circumferential direction.
[0030] The second member 50 will be described with reference to Figures 14 and 15. The second member 50 is a cylindrical member that is open on both axial sides. The second member 50 is not particularly limited, but an injection-molded product made of synthetic resin can be used. The second member 50 has a first recess 50a recessed from its inner surface, a second recess 50b formed in the first recess 50a, and a claw hole 50c into which the claw protrusion 54a (see Figure 13) of the claw portion 54 of the first member 48 fits.
[0031] The first recess 50a is a portion into which the receiving surface 52a of the attachment receiving portion 52 fits when the first member 48 is inserted inside the second member 50. The second member 50 is provided with a plurality of first recesses 50a (three in this embodiment) spaced apart in the circumferential direction. The first recesses 50a are formed from the front end of the second member 50 to a midpoint in the axial direction of the second member 50 and are recessed so as to open to the inside of the second member 50. The bottom surface of the first recess 50a is formed flat to match the flat receiving surface 52a of the attachment receiving portion 52. The width of the first recess 50a is set to be the same as or approximately the same as the width of the receiving surface 52a. In other words, the width of the first recess 50a is formed to match the width of the attachment portion 44a of the plate member 44. The depth of the first recess 50a is set to be equal to or greater than the sum of the projection dimension of the receiving surface 52a from the outer peripheral surface of the first member 48 and the thickness of the mounting portion 44a of the plate member 44.
[0032] The second recesses 50b are portions into which the mounting protrusions 52b of the mounting receiving portion 52 fit when the first member 48 is inserted into the second member 50. The second recesses 50b are provided in each of the first recesses 50a. The second recesses 50b are formed from the front end of the second member 50 to a midpoint in the axial direction of the second member 50 and open to the inside of the second member 49. The bottom surface of the second recesses 50b is flat to match the flat tip surface of the mounting protrusions 52b. The width of the second recesses 50b is set to be the same as or approximately the same as the width of the mounting protrusions 52b. The depth of the second recesses 50b is set to the protrusion dimension of the mounting protrusions 52b from the mounting hole 44c of the mounting portion 44a of the plate member 44.
[0033] The claw holes 50c are portions into which the claw protrusions 54a of the claw portions 54 fit when the first member 48 is inserted inside the second member 50. The claw holes 50c are arranged circumferentially offset from the first recesses 50a, and the second member 50 has a plurality of claw holes 50c (three in this embodiment) spaced apart in the circumferential direction.
[0034] As shown in FIG. 10 , when the first member 48 is inserted into the second member 50, the claw protrusions 54a of the claw portions 54 fit into the claw holes 50c, and the first member 48 is attached to the second member 50. At this time, an opening 62 is formed between the notch portion 56 of the first member 48 and the rear opening edge of the first recessed portion 50a of the second member 50, and the locking portion 44b of the plate member 44 protrudes into the inside of the joint body 42 through this opening 62 (see FIG. 11 ). Furthermore, the receiving surface 52a of the attachment receiving portion 52 and the mounting portion 44a of the plate member 44 arranged on the receiving surface 52a fit into the first recessed portion 50a, and the first recessed portion 50a restricts circumferential movement of the plate member 44 (see FIG. 9 ). Furthermore, the mounting portion 44a is sandwiched between the receiving surface 52a and the bottom surface of the first recessed portion 50a, restricting inward and outward movement of the plate member 44. The mounting projections 52b fitted into the mounting holes 44c of the mounting portions 44a restrict the plate member 44 from moving in the axial direction.
[0035] 10 , in the fitting 40 of the second embodiment, when a pipe 100 is inserted into the fitting body 42, the locking portion 44b protruding inward from the fitting body 42 is pressed by the pipe 100 and elastically deforms outward, allowing the pipe 100 to be inserted past the locking portion 44b. The pipe 100 hits the protrusion 12a, restricting movement toward the rear, and the outer peripheral surface of the pipe 100 is sealed with the O-ring 18, while the tip of the locking portion 44b presses down on the pipe 100. The locking portion 44b restricts movement of the pipe 100 toward the front, preventing the pipe 100 from coming loose in the fitting body 12.
[0036] (Third embodiment) In the second embodiment, the first member 48 and the second member 50 are attached using a claw-fitting structure, but as in the third embodiment shown in Figures 16 to 18, the first member 76 and the second member 78 may also be attached using a screw-fastening structure. The joint 70 of the third embodiment also exhibits the same effects as the first and second embodiments. In the description of the third embodiment, the same components as those in the first and second embodiments are denoted by the same reference numerals as in the first embodiment, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0037] As shown in FIG. 16 , a joint 70 according to the third embodiment includes a joint body 72 into which a pipe 100 is inserted, and a plurality of plate members 44 that are disposed on the joint body 72 and can bite into the pipe 100. The joint body 72 of the third embodiment includes a first member 76 provided with an attachment receiving portion 80 to which the plate member 44 is attached, and a second member 78 that is disposed on the outside of the first member 76 and covers the outside of the plate member 44. The joint body 72 of the third embodiment includes a pipe connection portion 74 formed by one side of the first member 76 and one second member 78, and a pipe connection portion 74 formed by the other side of the first member 76 and one second member 78, which are arranged symmetrically. The two pipe connection portions 74 in the joint 70 have the same configuration, so the following description will focus on one pipe connection portion 74, and the description of the other pipe connection portion 74 will be omitted. Furthermore, the plate member 44 of the third embodiment is similar to that of the second embodiment, and therefore the same reference numerals as those of the second embodiment are used and the description thereof will be omitted.
[0038] As shown in FIG. 16 , the first member 76 is a cylindrical member that is open on both axial ends. The first member 76 is not particularly limited, but may be an injection-molded product made of synthetic resin. The first member 76 includes an attachment receiving portion 80 for attaching the plate member 44, an opening 82 formed on the rear side of the attachment receiving portion 80 and penetrating the first member 76, and a male thread 84 formed on the rear side of the opening 82. The first member 76 is provided with a plurality of attachment receiving portions 80 (three in this embodiment) spaced apart in the circumferential direction, and each attachment receiving portion 80 has an opening 82 on its rear side. In the joint 70 of this embodiment, the locking portions 44 b of the plate members 44 attached to each of the three attachment receiving portions 80 arranged at regular intervals in the circumferential direction protrude into the inside of the first member 76 through the openings 82, and the three plate members 44 arranged at regular intervals in the circumferential direction prevent the piping 100 inserted into the piping connection portion 74 from coming loose (see FIG. 17 ). The attachment receiving portion 80 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the first member 76, and is recessed in a shape that matches the planar shape of the attachment portion 44a of the plate member 44. The attachment receiving portion 80 has a cylindrical attachment protrusion 80a that fits into an attachment hole 44c formed in the attachment portion 44a of the plate member 44 (see FIG. 18).
[0039] 17, the second member 78 is a cylindrical member having an internal thread 86. The second member 78 is attached to the first member 76 by threading the internal thread 86 into the external thread 84 of the first member 76. At this time, the second member 78 is configured to cover the outside of the plate member 44 attached to the attachment receiving portion 80.
[0040] 16, when the second member 78 is fitted onto the outside of the first member 76, the mounting portion 44a is sandwiched between the mounting receptacle 80 and the second member 78, restricting movement of the plate member 44 in the inward and outward directions. Furthermore, the mounting portion 44a of the plate member 44 fits into the concave mounting receptacle 80, and the mounting receptacle 80 restricts movement of the plate member 44 in the circumferential direction. Furthermore, the mounting protrusion 80a fitted into the mounting hole 44c of the mounting portion 44a restricts movement of the plate member 44 in the axial direction.
[0041] As shown in Figure 16, in the joint 70 of the third embodiment, the locking portion 44b of the plate member 44 protrudes inwardly of the joint body 72 through the opening 82 of the first member 76. When the pipe 100 is inserted into the joint body 72, the locking portion 44b protruding inwardly of the joint body 72 is pressed by the pipe 100 and elastically deforms outwardly, allowing the pipe 100 to be inserted past the locking portion 44b. The tip of the locking portion 44b presses against the pipe 100, restricting movement of the pipe 100 toward the front side, and preventing the pipe 100 from coming loose in the joint body 72 (see Figure 17).
[0042] (Example of change) The present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned matters, but may be, for example, as follows: Note that the present invention is not limited to the specific descriptions of the embodiment and the following modified examples. In the above embodiment, a socket that connects two pipes in a straight line was used as an example of a joint, but this is not limited to this. For example, the joint may be an elbow that connects two pipes in an L-shape, a tee that connects three pipes in a T-shape, a cross that connects four pipes in a crisscross shape, or an increaser (reducer) that connects two pipes of different diameters.
