Description

Detailed description of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a sunscreen composition comprising bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (BEMT) and one or more cosmetic oils, characterized in that at least one of the cosmetic oils is isoamyl caprylate caprate. The composition exhibits improved water repellency (lotus effect).

[0002] Sunscreens should be effective and safe. In this regard, sunscreens contain different UVB and UVA shielding agents. Among these UV shielding agents, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (BEMT) is particularly advantageous because it is a broad-spectrum UV absorber that absorbs not only UVA but also UVB rays and is photostable. Overall, it is currently considered the UV absorber with the highest effectiveness, as measured by SPF, based on the maximum concentration permitted by European regulations.
