Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a process cooling apparatus and a cooling method. [Background technology]
[0002] As shown in Fig. 18, the machining cooling device disclosed in Patent Document 1 has a jet nozzle 73 provided on the front of a tool holder 72 installed on a tool rest 71, and the jet nozzle 73 cannot be arranged close to a tool 74 supported by the tool holder 72, and is arranged away from the tool 74, so that the jet nozzle 73 jets the cooling oil 74 obliquely toward the cutting edge of the tool 74 from a position away from the tool 74. Therefore, as shown in Fig. 19, when machining of a workpiece 76 by the tool 74 progresses toward the back of the workpiece 76, most of the cooling oil 75 jetted from the jet nozzle 73 bounces off the front surface of the workpiece 76 facing the jet nozzle 73, and the amount of cooling oil that reaches the machining portion between the workpiece 76 located at the back of the workpiece 76 and the cutting edge of the tool 74 decreases, resulting in a disadvantage that cooling of the workpiece 76 and the cutting edge of the tool 74 becomes poor. [0003] [Patent Document 1] Practical Innovation Plan Registration No. 3143544 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] The present invention has been made in consideration of the above-mentioned background art, and has an object to provide a machining and cooling device that can provide good cooling even when machining with a tool progresses deep into a workpiece. [Means for solving the problem]
[0005] The present invention is a processing cooling device that cools a part of a workpiece placed on a workpiece placement section with a tool supported by a tool rest in a tool placement section with cooling oil, the processing cooling device having a protrusion, a direction changer provided on the protrusion to introduce cooling oil injected from an injection port into a space from an outer peripheral surface of the protrusion and to lead it out from a front surface of the protrusion toward the processing section, and both the inlet and outlet of the cooling oil in the direction changer are configured as openings. In other words, the present invention is characterized in that the cooling oil is sprayed into the space from the injection port provided on the front surface of the tool rest, the flow direction of the cooling oil sprayed into the space is changed by a direction changer provided on a protrusion protruding from the tool rest to the workpiece side, and the cooling oil whose flow direction has been changed is led out to the processing section by the workpiece and the tool from an opening provided as an outlet of the direction changer on the front surface of the protrusion of the tool holder. Effect of the Invention
[0006] In the present invention, an outlet is provided as an outlet of the direction changer on the front surface of the protrusion protruding from the tool rest of the tool holder toward the workpiece, so that the outlet can be located near the tool, and by locating the outlet close to the tool so as to be adjacent to the tool, the cooling oil can be ejected from the outlet in parallel close to the outer surface of the tool so as to be in contact with the tool. Therefore, even if the workpiece is machined by the tool toward the back of the workpiece, most of the cooling oil ejected from the outlet does not bounce back on the front surface facing the injection nozzle of the workpiece, but passes through the gap between the internal hole machined in the workpiece and the tool to reach the machined portion between the workpiece and the tip of the blade of the tool located at the back of the workpiece, and the machined portion by the workpiece and the tool is effectively cooled by the cooling oil. In addition, in the present invention, the injection port ejects the cooling oil into the space on the front surface of the tool rest facing the workpiece, so that there is no need to connect the injection port and the direction changer of the protrusion with a pipe, and when replacing the tool holder, it is only necessary to remove the tool holder from the tool rest, so that the tool holder can be easily replaced. In the present invention, if the direction changer is provided at an upper portion between a center line passing through the center of the protrusion and extending in the vertical direction and a center line passing through the center and extending in the horizontal direction, and at a point where a straight line having an angle θ1 of 30 degrees to 45 degrees from the center line extending in the vertical direction to the center line passing through the center and extending in the horizontal direction intersects with a circumference centered on the center, and is provided at a point where the center line extending in the vertical direction intersects with the circumference, the tool holder can be compatible with tool rests of processing machines manufactured by various manufacturers. In the present invention, if the included angle between the center line of the hole on the introduction side and the center line of the tool storage hole is set to 45 degrees to 55 degrees, the cooling oil 7 is injected from the outlet 13 in a bundle without scattering. In the present invention, if the included angle between the center line of the hole on the outlet side and the center line of the tool storage hole is set to 0 degrees to 15 degrees, the cooling oil 7 is injected from the outlet 13 in a bundle without scattering. The present invention has a simple structure if the direction changer is configured as a flat slope that gradually declines from the cooling oil inlet side to the outlet side. If the angle between the flat slope and the center line of the tool receiving hole is set to 0 to 15 degrees, the cooling oil can be ejected from the outlet in a more parallel manner so as to follow and come into contact with the outer surface of the tool. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0008] The processing cooling device of the first embodiment for implementing the invention shown in Figure 1 illustrates a boring process using a turret lathe as an example of a processing device, and is configured to supply cooling oil 7 from the tool mounting section 3 side to a portion where processing is performed on a workpiece 2 placed on a workpiece mounting section 1 using a tool 6 supported by a tool holder 5 placed on a tool rest 4 of a tool mounting section 3.
[0009] An injection port 10 is provided on the front surface of the tool rest 4 facing the workpiece 2 so as to inject the cooling oil 7 toward the outer circumferential surface of a protrusion 8 of the tool holder 5 that protrudes toward the workpiece 2 from the tool rest 4, and into the space 9. The injection port 10 may be structured with an injection nozzle.
[0010] In addition, the protrusion 8 is provided with a direction change section 11 so as to guide the cooling oil 7 sprayed from the nozzle section 10 into the space 9 from the outer peripheral surface of the protrusion 8 and direct it from the front side of the protrusion 8 facing the workpiece 2 toward the machining portion by the workpiece 2 and the tool 6.
[0011] Furthermore, both the inlet 12 for cooling oil 7 on the outer circumferential surface of the protrusion 8 in the direction changer 11 and the outlet 13 for cooling oil 7 on the front surface of the protrusion 8 are configured as openings.
[0012] Hereinafter, the introduction portion 12 of the cooling oil 7 will be referred to as an inlet 12 , and the discharge portion 13 of the cooling oil 7 will be referred to as an outlet 13 .
[0013] According to the processing cooling device shown in Figure 1, since the outlet 13 of the direction change section 11 is provided on the front surface of the protrusion portion 8, the outlet 13 can be positioned near the tool 6 supported by the tool holder 5, and by positioning the outlet 13 close to and adjacent to the tool 6 supported by the tool holder 5, the cooling oil 7 is injected from the outlet 13 in a parallel manner close to and in contact with the outer surface of the tool 6.
[0014] Therefore, even if the machining of the workpiece 2 by the tool 6 progresses toward the back of the workpiece 2, most of the cooling oil 7 injected from the outlet 13 does not bounce off the front surface facing the nozzle portion 10 of the workpiece 2, but passes through the gap between the internal hole 23 of the workpiece 2 and the tool 6 to reach the machining portion between the workpiece 2 and the tip of the cutting portion 18 of the tool 6 located at the back of the workpiece 2, and the machining portion between the workpiece 2 and the tool 6 is well cooled by the cooling oil 7.
[0015] In Figure 1, the portion between the inlet 12 and outlet 13 of the direction changer 11 is groove-shaped, with an arc-shaped bottom that opens to the outer peripheral surface and front surface of the protrusion 8 and whose depth from the outer peripheral surface of the protrusion 8 to the inside becomes deeper as it goes from the inlet 12 on the tool post 4 side to the outlet 13 on the work mounting section 1 side, thereby simplifying the structure of the direction changer 11.
[0016] A workpiece 2 is placed on a workpiece placement section 1 of a turret lathe, called a workpiece chuck, by being captured from the outside by a plurality of jaws 15 provided on the workpiece placement section 1. As the workpiece placement section 1 is rotated, the workpiece 2 placed on the workpiece placement section 1 is rotated in one direction around the center line of the workpiece placement section 1, which extends laterally, as the center of rotation. A tool 6 called a boring bar is attached to one tool rest 4 of a tool placement section 3 of the turret lathe, called a turret, via a tool holder 5.
[0017] Specifically, inside the tool rest 4, a holder accommodating hole 16 is formed laterally from the front side of the tool rest 4 facing the workpiece 2 toward the rear end. The tool 6 includes a main body 17, a blade 18, and an attachment portion 19 for attaching to the tool holder 5. The main body 17 is located on the side facing the workpiece 2, and has a rod shape that is long in the horizontal direction. The blade 18 is provided at the front end of the main body 17 on the side facing the workpiece 2. The attachment portion 19 has a rod shape that extends concentrically from the main body 17 to the rear.
[0018] The tool holder 5 includes a protrusion 8, an attachment portion 21 for attachment to the tool rest 4, and a tool accommodating hole 22. The protrusion 8 has a larger outer shape than the attachment portion 21. The attachment portion 21 has a smaller outer shape than the protrusion 8. The tool accommodating hole 22 is formed in the center of the tool holder 5, extending laterally from the front surface facing the workpiece setting portion 1 toward the attachment portion 21. The attachment portion 19 of the tool 6 is accommodated and fixed in the tool accommodating hole 22 from the front side of the tool holder 5, and the main body 17 and the blade portion 18 of the tool 6 protrude further than the protrusion 8 of the tool holder 5 toward the side facing the workpiece 2.
[0019] In addition, Figure 1 illustrates an example of a state in which an internal hole 23 is pre-formed in a cylindrical shape from the front side of the work 2 facing the tool mounting section 3 toward the inside by a tool (not shown) attached to a tool rest (not shown) provided in the tool mounting section 3 other than the tool 6 in the work 2 mounted on the work mounting section 1.
[0020] Then, in a state where the workpiece 2 is rotated by the workpiece mounting section 1 and the main body 17 and the blade portion 18 of the tool 6 are inserted into the internal hole 23 from the opening of the internal hole 23 in the workpiece 2 on the side facing the tool mounting section 3, the blade portion 18 moves outward in the diameter direction relative to the rotation of the workpiece 2 and in the lateral direction along the center line relative to the rotation of the workpiece 2 in association with the machining operation of the tool rest 4 relative to the tool mounting section 3 to machine a boring hole 24 having a larger diameter than the internal hole 23. In other words, when machining the workpiece 2 with the tool 6, the workpiece 2 may be rotated and the tool 6 may move outward in the diameter direction relative to the rotation of the workpiece 2 and in the lateral direction along the center line relative to the rotation of the workpiece 2 without rotating, but it is applicable as long as it moves at least in the lateral direction along the center line relative to the rotation of the workpiece 2.
[0021] Cooling oil 7 pressurized to a predetermined pressure from a supply source (not shown) is supplied to nozzle 10 via a supply path (not shown) provided inside tool post 4, and this supplied cooling oil 7 is sprayed from nozzle 10 toward inlet 12 into the space in front of tool post 4. Because cooling oil is sprayed from the nozzle into the space, there is no need to connect the nozzle and the direction change section of the protrusion with piping, and when replacing the tool holder, it is sufficient to remove only the tool holder from the tool post, making it easy to replace the tool holder.
[0022] As the cooling oil 7 injected into the above space moves from the inlet 12 through the direction change section 11 toward the outlet 13, the injection direction of the cooling oil 7 is changed from the diameter direction of the tool holder 5 to a direction parallel to the center line of the tool 6 toward the gap between the main body 17 of the tool 6 and the internal hole 23.
[0023] Therefore, the cooling oil 7 taken in from the direction changer 11 into the gap between the main body 17 and the internal hole 23 reaches the machining portion between the workpiece 2 and the blade 18, and effectively cools both the workpiece 2 and the blade 18. The cooling oil 7 that has cooled both the workpiece 2 and the blade 18 is returned to a supply source (not shown) after cutting debris has been removed by a cooling oil recovery path (not shown) and a filter provided in the cooling oil recovery path.
[0024] In the processing cooling device of the second embodiment for implementing the invention shown in Figure 2, a cover 25 is provided on the protrusion 8 to cover the opening on the outer peripheral surface side of the protrusion 8 in the groove-shaped direction change section 11, thereby preventing the cooling oil 7 that has entered the direction change section 11 from scattering.
[0025] 3, a processing cooling device according to a third embodiment of the invention is configured such that a straightening pipe 26, such as a bent pipe joint called an elbow, is provided at the nozzle portion 10, and the spatial distance between the straightening pipe 26 and the inlet 12 is reduced, making it easier for the cooling oil 7 sprayed from the straightening pipe 26 into the space to be taken in by the inlet 12. If the spray direction of the cooling oil 7 sprayed by the straightening pipe 26 is corrected so that the cooling oil 7 is parallel to the front surface of the tool post 4 facing the workpiece 2, the inlet 12 can be located close to the tool post 4, the path of the direction changer 11 becomes longer, and the spray direction of the cooling oil 7 sprayed from the outlet 13 becomes stable.
[0026] In the processing cooling device according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention shown in Fig. 4, the direction changer 11 provided on the tool holder 5 is hole-shaped. That is, the direction changer 11 has a vertical hole recessed inward in the diameter direction from the outer circumferential surface of the tool holder 5 on the inlet 12 side, and a horizontal hole extending in a direction parallel to the center line of the tool 6 from the front surface of the tool holder 5 facing the workpiece 2 on the outlet 13 side and connected to the vertical hole, so that the cooling oil 7 injected from the injection port 10 or the straightening tube 26 through the space on the front side of the tool rest 4 to the inlet 12 is guided to the outlet 13 without escaping to the outside from the direction changer 11, and the injection direction of the cooling oil 7 passing through the space between the workpiece 2 and the tool holder 5 from the outlet 13 is stabilized. In Fig. 4, the straightening tube 26 is removed and can be applied.
[0027] The processing cooling device according to the fifth embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 5 has a receiving wall 27 provided around the inlet 12 of the tool holder 5 so as to protrude outward in the diameter direction of the tool holder 5, and the receiving wall 27 guides the cooling oil 7 sprayed from the nozzle 10 to the inlet 12 of the direction changer 11 in the space on the front side of the tool rest 4. The receiving wall 27 is formed by using one of the split pipes obtained by splitting a pipe into two along a center line extending in the vertical direction of the pipe, and has a hood-like structure with a covering part in which the upper end of the split pipe protrudes toward the nozzle 10. Although not shown in Fig. 5, the end of the receiving wall 27 may be spherical to form a ball joint slidably supported in a receiving recess provided around the inlet 12 of the tool holder 5, making the inclination of the receiving wall 27 adjustable.
[0028] The processing cooling device according to the sixth embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 6 has a structure in which a tapered drill is mounted on the tool rest 4 as the tool 6. In other words, since the outer shape of the attachment portion 19 of the tool 6 has a tapered shape that gradually becomes narrower from the workpiece 2 side toward the rear, the tool accommodating hole 22 of the tool holder 5 has a tapered shape that matches the above-mentioned tapered shape. As a result, as the attachment portion 19 of the tool 6 is accommodated in the tool accommodating hole 22 from the front side of the tool holder 5, it is internally fitted into and fixed in the tool accommodating hole 22.
[0029] Furthermore, since the outlet 13 of the direction change portion 11 is provided on the front surface of the protrusion portion 8, the outlet 13 can be positioned close to the tool 6 supported by the tool holder 5, and by positioning the outlet 13 close to and adjacent to the tool 6 supported by the tool holder 5, the cooling oil 7 is injected from the outlet 13 in a parallel manner close to and in contact with the outer surface of the tool 6.
[0030] Therefore, when the spiral blade 18 formed from the tip of the main body 17 of the tool 6 to the rear of the main body 17 machines a cylindrical internal hole 28 in the workpiece 2, even if the machining of the workpiece 2 by the tool 6 progresses to the back of the workpiece 2, most of the cooling oil 7 injected from the outlet 13 does not bounce off the front surface facing the injection port 10 of the workpiece 2, but passes through the gap between the internal hole 23 of the workpiece 2 and the tool 6 to reach the machining part between the workpiece 2 located at the back of the workpiece 2 and the tip of the blade 18 of the tool 6, and the machining part between the workpiece 2 and the tool 6 is well cooled by the cooling oil 7. In FIG. 6, the straightening tube 26 is removed and can be applied.
[0031] In the processing cooling device according to the seventh embodiment of the present invention shown in FIG. 7, a tool holder 5 called a straight arbor for mounting a drill chuck 31 on a tool rest 4 is used, and an outlet 13 is provided at the center of a tip tapered portion 32 protruding from a protrusion 8 of the tool holder 5 toward the workpiece 2. The cooling oil 7 injected from the injection port portion 10 or the straightening tube 26 to the inlet 12 via a space on the front side of the tool rest 4 is guided to the outlet 13 without escaping to the outside from the direction change portion 11, and reaches the processing portion of the workpiece 2 and the cutting portion 18 through a gap between the jaws 34 of the drill chuck 31 and the tool 6 called a drill supported by the jaws 34 via the core hole 33 of the drill chuck 31, thereby cooling both the workpiece 2 and the cutting portion 18. In FIG. 7, the straightening tube 26 may be removed, and the drill chuck 31 may be replaced with a collet chuck. In FIG. 7, the receiving wall 27 of FIG. 5 may be provided instead of the straightening tube 26.
[0032] The tool holder 5 according to the eighth embodiment of the invention shown in Figures 8 to 11 includes three direction changers 11. These three direction changers 11 are structured independently of one another so that the cooling oil 7 taken into inlets 12 opening at intervals in the circumferential direction on the outer circumferential surface of the protrusion 8 of the tool holder 5 is discharged from outlets 13 opening at intervals in the circumferential direction on the front surface of the protrusion 8. Inside each outlet 13, a straightening member 35 is provided to concentrate the flow of the cooling oil 7 ejected from the outlet 13 into the space in a predetermined direction.
[0033] A chamfered portion 36 is formed in an annular shape around the outer circumferential surface at the intersection of the outer circumferential surface and the front surface of the protrusion 8. The chamfered portion 36 has a gradually downward inclination from the rear side to the front side (see FIG. 10).
[0034] As shown in Fig. 8 and Fig. 10, the protrusion 8 is provided with set screws 37 for fixing the tool 6 (see Fig. 6) to the tool holder 5 so as not to interfere with the direction changer 11. Specifically, in the embodiment shown in Fig. 8 in which the direction changer 11 is located on the upper side and the tool holder 5 is viewed from the front side, the set screws 37 are provided at a total of three positions: two left and right positions where a straight line passing through the center of the tool holder 5 and extending in the left-right direction intersects with the outer circumferential surface of the protrusion 8, and one position where a straight line passing through the center of the tool holder 5 and extending in the up-down direction intersects at a lower part of the outer circumferential surface of the protrusion 8. Also, as shown in Fig. 10, the set screws 37 are individually attached to threaded holes 38 penetrating the outer circumferential surface of the protrusion 8 and the tool storage hole 22.
[0035] 8 and 11, four flat mounting portions 39 are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the mounting portion 21 of the tool holder 5. As shown in Fig. 11, two of the four flat mounting portions 39 are parallel to each other on center line L1, sandwiching the center of the tool holder 5 therebetween, and the other two flat mounting portions 39 are parallel to each other on center line L2, which is perpendicular to center line L1, sandwiching the center of the tool holder 5 therebetween.
[0036] Providing four flat mounting portions 39 makes it possible for the tool holder 5 to be compatible with the tool rests 4 of processing machines manufactured by various manufacturers. Specifically, the positional relationship between the set screw 40 that fixes the tool holder 5 to the tool rest 4 and the injection port portion 10 varies depending on the manufacturer of the processing machine.
[0037] In developing the tool holder 5, the positions of the set screws 40 were investigated for tool rests 4 manufactured by various manufacturers, and it was found that when the tool rest 4 is placed so that the injection port 10 is located above the holder receiving hole 16 as shown in Fig. 12, the set screws 40 are located on the top surface of the tool rest 4A, the right side surface of the tool rest 4B, the bottom surface of the tool rest 4C, or the left side surface of the tool rest 4D. Based on the results of this investigation, four mounting planes 39 are provided on the mounting portion 21 of the tool holder 5 as shown in Fig. 11. When the tool holder 5 is viewed from the front, the upper mounting plane 39 of the four mounting planes 39 is represented as 39A, the right mounting plane 39 is represented as 39B, the left mounting plane 39 is represented as 39C, and the lower mounting plane 39 is represented as 39D to distinguish between the four mounting planes 39.
[0038] Figure 12 shows an example in which, in tool post 4A, the set screw 40 for fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4A is provided on the upper surface extending rearward from the upper edge of the front surface where the nozzle portion 10 is provided, in tool post 4B, the set screw 40 for fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4B is provided on the right side surface extending rearward from the right edge of the front surface where the nozzle portion 10 is provided, in tool post 4C, the set screw 40 for fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4C is provided on the lower surface extending rearward from the lower edge of the front surface where the nozzle portion 10 is provided, and in tool post 4D, the set screw 40 for fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4D is provided on the left side surface extending rearward from the left edge of the front surface where the nozzle portion 10 is provided.
[0039] A combination of tool rests 4A to 4D and a tool holder 5 according to a ninth embodiment of the invention shown in Fig. 12 will be described. In Fig. 12, when attaching the tool holder 5 to the tool rest 4A, the attachment portion 21 having four attachment flat portions 39 (39A, 39B, 39C, and 39D in Fig. 11) on the outer peripheral surface of the tool holder 5 in a circular plan view is inserted into the holder accommodation hole 16 of the tool rest 4A in a circular plan view so that the inlet 12 of the tool holder 5 is positioned directly below the injection port portion 10 of the tool rest 4A, and then the set screw 40 is manually guided by the female thread to which the set screw 40 is attached with a tightening tool such as a screwdriver (not shown) toward the holder accommodation hole 16, and the tip of the set screw 40 comes into contact with the upper attachment flat portion 39A of the tool holder 5, thereby fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool rest 4A.
[0040] In addition, in FIG. 12, when attaching the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4B, the mounting portion 21 having four mounting flat portions 39 (39A, 39B, 39C, 39D in FIG. 11) on the outer peripheral surface which is circular in plan view of the tool holder 5 is inserted into the holder accommodation hole 16 which is circular in plan view of the tool post 4B so that the inlet 12 of the tool holder 5 is positioned directly below the nozzle portion 10 of the tool post 4B. Then, the set screw 40 is manually operated with a tightening tool such as a screwdriver (not shown) to be guided by the female thread on which the set screw 40 is attached and advanced toward the holder accommodation hole 16, so that the tip of the set screw 40 abuts against the right-side mounting flat portion 39B of the tool holder 5, thereby fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4B.
[0041] In addition, in FIG. 12, when attaching the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4C, the mounting portion 21 having four mounting flat portions 39 (39A, 39B, 39C, 39D in FIG. 11) on the outer peripheral surface which is circular in plan view of the tool holder 5 is inserted into the holder accommodation hole 16 which is circular in plan view of the tool post 4 so that the inlet 12 of the tool holder 5 is positioned directly below the nozzle portion 10 of the tool post 4. Then, the set screw 40 is manually operated with a tightening tool such as a screwdriver (not shown) to be guided by the female thread on which the set screw 40 is attached and advanced toward the holder accommodation hole 16, so that the tip of the set screw 40 abuts against the right mounting flat portion 39 of the tool holder 5, i.e., the mounting flat portion 39C in FIG. 11, thereby fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4.
[0042] 12, when attaching the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4D, the mounting portion 21 having four mounting plane portions 39 (39A, 39B, 39C, 39D in FIG. 11) on the outer peripheral surface which is circular in plan view of the tool holder 5 is inserted into the holder receiving hole 16 which is circular in plan view of the tool post 4 so that the inlet 12 of the tool holder 5 is positioned directly below the nozzle portion 10 of the tool post 4. Then, the set screw 40 is manually operated with a tightening tool such as a screwdriver (not shown) to be guided by the female thread on which the set screw 40 is attached and advanced toward the holder receiving hole 16, so that the tip of the set screw 40 abuts against the left mounting plane portion 39 of the tool holder 5, i.e., the mounting plane portion 39D in FIG. 11, thereby fixing the tool holder 5 to the tool post 4.
[0043] In developing the tool holder 5 according to the embodiment 10 shown in FIG. 13, the positions of the jet nozzles 10 were investigated for the tool rests 4 manufactured by various manufacturers. In FIG. 13, it was found that all the jet nozzles 10 investigated were concentrated in the range of two straight lines L3 and L4, which have an angle θ1 of 30 degrees to 45 degrees from the center line L1 to the center line L2, between the center line L1 that passes through the center P1 of the protrusion 8 of the tool holder 5 and extends in the vertical direction, and the center line L2 that passes through the center P1 and extends in the horizontal direction, as shown by imaginary lines. Based on the results of this investigation, the inlets 12 and outlets 13 of the three direction changers 11 were individually provided at three locations where the center line L1 and the two straight lines L3 and L4 intersect with one circumference L5 centered on the center P1, so that the tool holder 5 can be used with the tool rests 4 of the processing machines manufactured by various manufacturers. The most suitable angle was θ1 = 35 degrees. In addition, the inlet 12 and the outlet 13 in the direction change section 11 may be provided separately at two locations where the straight lines L3 and L4 intersect with the circumference L5, or the inlet 12 and the outlet 13 in one direction change section 11 may be provided separately at one of the locations where the straight lines L3 and L4 intersect with the circumference L5.
[0044] 14, the results of verifying the angle between the vertical hole on the inlet 12 side and the horizontal hole on the outlet 13 side of the direction changer 11 in developing the tool holder 5 according to the 11th embodiment of the invention will be described. In FIG. 14, the allowable range of the included angle θ2 between the center line L6 extending in the up-down direction of the vertical hole on the inlet 12 side and the center line L7 extending in the horizontal direction of the tool accommodating hole 22 is 45 to 55 degrees, with 50 degrees being the optimum, and the allowable range of the included angle θ3 between the center line L8 extending in the left-right direction of the horizontal hole on the outlet 13 side and the center line L7 extending in the horizontal direction of the tool accommodating hole 22 is 0 to 15 degrees, with 5 to 10 degrees being the optimum, and it was confirmed that the cooling oil 7 was injected in a bundle from the outlet 13 without scattering. In addition, it was confirmed that when the bottom 41 where the vertical hole on the inlet 12 side and the horizontal hole on the outlet 13 side intersect is arc-shaped concave downward, θ3 is 0 degrees, that is, the cooling oil 7 is discharged from the outlet 13 parallel to the center line L7.
[0045] Using Figure 15, the results of verifying the relationship between the three direction changers 11, the tool accommodating hole 22, and the set screw 37 in the tool holder 5 according to the 12th embodiment of the invention will be described. As shown in Figure 15A, since the diameter of the tool accommodating hole 22 is large, even if three inlets 12 and three outlets 13 are provided for the direction changers 11 individually, as long as there is no interference with the set screw 37, the cooling oil 7 is injected in a bundle from the outlet 13 without scattering, which is the optimal structure.
[0046] However, as shown in Figure 15B, due to the small diameter of the tool accommodating hole 22, even if three inlets 12 and three outlets 13 of the direction change section 11 are provided individually without interference with the set screws 37, if adjacent parts of the three outlets 13 are connected to each other, the cooling oil 7 will be sprayed in a scattered manner from the three connected outlets 13, and it has been confirmed that the spraying of the cooling oil 7 will be poor.
[0047] Therefore, since the diameter of the tool accommodating hole 22 is small, even if three inlets 12 and three outlets 13 of the direction change section 11 are provided individually without interference with the set screws 37, the adjacent three outlets 13 would be connected to each other. In this case, as shown in Figure 15C, by consolidating the inlets 12 of the direction change section 11 into three and the outlet 13 into one, interference with the set screws 37 can be avoided and the cooling oil 7 can be injected in a bundle from the single outlet 13 without scattering, which is the best structure.
[0048] In other words, when the diameter of the tool housing hole 22 is small and it is difficult to provide three outlets 13 without interfering with the set screw 37, the cooling oil 7 can be injected in a bundle without scattering by concentrating them into one outlet 13 as shown in FIG. 15C.
[0049] The direction changer 11 in the tool holder 5 according to the embodiment 13 of the invention shown in Figures A to C of Figure 16 is configured as a flat slope that gradually declines from the inlet 12 side to the outlet 13 side at the upper part by the tool storage hole 22 of the protrusion 8. This configuration simplifies the structure of the direction changer 11. The part between the inlet 12 and the outlet 13 of the direction changer 11 opens to the outer peripheral surface and the front surface of the protrusion 8. As shown in Figure 16A, this direction changer 11 is cut in a straight line in the left-right direction, and does not have a shape that curves upward and protrudes like the chamfered portion 36 shown in Figure 9. Therefore, when the cooling oil 7 hits the flat slope, the spray direction of the cooling oil 7 can be prevented from being divided into left and right directions. In addition, when the tool holder 5 is viewed from the side as shown in Fig. 16B, the angle θ4 between the flat inclined surface of the direction changer 11 and the center line L7 extending laterally of the tool accommodating hole 22 is not particularly limited, but can be set to the angle θ3 in Fig. 14. By configuring it at this angle, the cooling oil can be ejected from the outlet in a more parallel manner so as to follow and come into contact with the outer surface of the tool.
[0050] 16D to 16F shows a tool holder 5 having three flat inclined surfaces, which are direction changers 11, adjacent to each other in the left-right direction on the protrusion 8. When a plurality of flat inclined surfaces, which are direction changers 11, are provided, each angle θ4 formed between the flat inclined surfaces of the direction changers 11 and the center line L7 extending in the lateral direction of the tool accommodating hole 22 can be set to the angle θ3 in FIG. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 16D, the angles θ5 and θ6 (the angles on the side of center P1) formed by the two flat slopes of adjacent direction changers 11 when viewed from the front side of the direction changers 11 are preferably 135 degrees to 150 degrees. This is preferable because the tool holder 5 can be adapted to the tool rests 4 of processing machines manufactured by various manufacturers as shown in Figure 13. The most preferable angles for θ5 and θ6 are 145 degrees.
[0051] The angles θ5 and θ6 may be the same or different. Two, four, five or more direction changers 11 may be provided. When a plurality of direction changers 11 are provided, they may be provided separately or adjacently.
[0052] The direction change portion 11 in the tool holder 5 according to the embodiment 14 of the invention shown in Figures A to C of Figure 17 is configured as a flat slope that gradually becomes downward from the inlet 12 side to the outlet 13 side above the tool storage hole 22 of the protrusion 8, and is configured with a steep slope on the inlet 12 side and a gentle slope on the outlet 13 side. The steep slope is a flat slope. The gentle slope is a flat slope. As shown in Figure 17A, the steep slope and the gentle slope are cut in a straight line in the left-right direction, and are not curved and protruded upward like the chamfered portion 36 shown in Figure 9. Therefore, when the cooling oil 7 hits the steep slope and the gentle slope, the spray direction of the cooling oil 7 can be prevented from being divided into left and right directions.
[0053] When the tool holder 5 is viewed from the side as in Fig. 17B, the angle θ7 between the steep slope on the inlet 12 side and the center line L7 extending laterally of the tool accommodating hole 22 is not particularly limited, but can be set to the angle θ2 in Fig. 14. The steep slope on the inlet 12 side is configured as a slope that gradually becomes downward as it goes from the inlet 12 side to the outlet 13 side.
[0054] When the tool holder 5 is viewed from the side as shown in FIG. 17B, the angle θ8 between the gentle slope on the outlet 13 side and the center line L7 extending laterally of the tool storage hole 22 is not particularly limited, but can be set to the angle θ3 in FIG. 14. With this angle, the cooling oil can be ejected from the outlet in a more parallel manner so as to follow and come into contact with the outer surface of the tool. The gentle slope on the outlet 13 side is configured as a slope that gradually becomes downward as it goes from the inlet 12 side to the outlet 13 side. The number of direction changers 11 is not limited to one, and may be two, three, four, five or more.
[0055] Also, although not shown, similar to Figures 16D to 16F, multiple direction change sections 11 each consisting of a steep slope on the inlet 12 side and a gentle slope on the outlet 13 side may be provided adjacent to the protrusion 8 in the left-right direction. When a plurality of steep and gentle slopes that constitute the direction changer 11 are provided, each angle θ7 formed between the steep slope of the direction changer 11 and the center line L7 extending laterally of the tool accommodating hole 22 can be set to the angle θ2 in Fig. 14. Also, each angle θ8 formed between the gentle slope on the outlet 13 side of the direction changer 11 and the center line L7 extending laterally of the tool accommodating hole 22 can be set to the angle θ3 in Fig. 14. When the direction changers 11 are viewed from the front side, the angle between the gentle slopes on the two outlets 13 sides of adjacent direction changers 11 (the angle on the side of center P1) is preferably 135 degrees to 150 degrees. This angle is preferable because the tool holder 5 can be adapted to the tool rests 4 of processing machines manufactured by various manufacturers, as shown in Figure 13. The most preferable angle is 145 degrees.
[0056] When the direction changer 11 is viewed from the front side, the angles (angles on the side of the center P1) between the gentle slopes on the two outlets 13 sides of adjacent direction changers 11 may be the same angle or different angles. In addition, when a plurality of direction changers 11 are provided, they may be provided separately or adjacently.
[0057] In the above-mentioned embodiments, the tool rest 4 and the tool holder 5 are separate members. However, the tool rest 4 and the tool holder 5 may be integrally formed. That is, the tool rest 4 may be provided with a protrusion 8 on the front surface thereof, and the protrusion 8 may support the tool 6 and have a direction changer 11. The tool 6 may also be provided with a protrusion 8 having a direction changer 11. In this case, as shown in Figs. 36 to 51, the protrusion 8 of the tool holder 5 from which the attachment portion 21 has been removed may be detachably provided on the tool 6, or the protrusion 8 may be integrally formed on the tool 6. The first to fourth embodiments of the present invention are applicable to the direction changer 11 of the protrusion 8 of the tool holder 5 from which the attachment portion 21 has been removed.
