Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a center bearing support that elastically supports, to the vehicle body, a center bearing that is rotatably mounted on the outer circumferential surface of an automobile propeller shaft that transmits rotational driving force. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, there has been known a center bearing support that elastically supports, on the vehicle body, a center bearing that is rotatably mounted on the outer periphery of an automobile's propeller shaft that transmits rotational driving force. In view of durability against shock and vibration and layout, a propeller shaft is often divided into multiple sections rather than a single piece, and the center bearing and center bearing support are usually located near these division points. Below, a brief description of a typical conventional center bearing support will be given.
[0003] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a cross section of a typical center bearing support 10A that is conventionally known.
[0004] The center bearing support 10A in Fig. 1 has a configuration in which a cylindrical outer ring 3 attached to a member (not shown) on the vehicle body side of the automobile and a cylindrical inner ring 2 attached to a center bearing (not shown) mounted on a propeller shaft (not shown) of the automobile are connected by an elastic body 1A. Here, the elastic body 1A is a member formed of an elastic material, and spreads out in a bellows-like bent shape that is convex in one direction along the propeller shaft (the X direction in Fig. 1).
[0005] In the center bearing support 10A, the elastic body 1A is interposed between the outer ring 3 and the inner ring 2, and thus the vibration transmitted between the propeller shaft and the body of the automobile is absorbed. In general, it is known that the lower the spring constant (dynamic spring constant) of the elastic body 1A in the vibration state in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the propeller shaft (the vertical direction in FIG. 1), the greater the vibration absorption effect. Here, the elastic body 1A has a natural resonance frequency for vibration in this direction that is determined in proportion to the square root of the sum of the spring constant of the outer ring side flexible part 13A and the spring constant of the inner ring side flexible part 12A divided by the mass of the bent part 11A. It is known that the dynamic spring constant described above is high when the elastic body 1A resonates at such a resonance frequency, and therefore the vibration absorption capacity of the center bearing support 10A is reduced in the frequency range around the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1A.
[0006] As shown in Fig. 1, in the elastic body 1A of a conventionally known general center bearing support 10A, the thickness of the rubber-like elastic material from the outer ring 3 to the inner ring 2 is almost constant. However, in the elastic body 1A having such a shape, the frequency range around the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1A may overlap with the frequency range of the vibration of the propeller shaft or the vehicle body, and the vibration absorption capacity of the center bearing support 10A may decrease in such a frequency range. To avoid such a situation, some center bearing supports have an elastic body shaped so that the resonance frequency of the elastic body is shifted to the high frequency side (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0007] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a cross section of a center bearing support 10B in which the shape of the elastic body 1B is devised so that the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1B is shifted to the higher frequency side.
[0008] In FIG. 2, the same components as those in FIG. 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the repeated explanations will be omitted. As shown in FIG. 2, in the elastic body 1B, the thickness of the bent portion 11B is smaller than the thickness of the outer ring side flexible portion 13B and the inner ring side flexible portion 12B. In the elastic body 1B having such a shape, the mass of the bent portion 11B is small, and therefore the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1B is large. Typically, the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1B can be adjusted to 1500 Hz or higher. In the center bearing support 10B in FIG. 2, the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1B is shifted to the high frequency side in this way, thereby reducing the overlap between the frequency range around the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1B and the frequency range of the vibration of the propeller shaft and the vehicle body. [0009] [Patent Document 1] JP 2013-226951 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0010] However, there are often situations where it is required to actively absorb high-frequency vibrations of the propeller shaft or vehicle body, and such requirements cannot be met with the shape of elastic body 1B in Fig. 2. For this reason, further ingenuity is required to prevent the deterioration of the vibration absorption capacity of the center bearing support in the high-frequency range.
[0011] In view of the above circumstances, the present invention aims to realize a center bearing support that is suitable for suppressing a decrease in vibration absorbing capacity in the high frequency range. [Means for solving the problem]
[0012] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides the following center bearing support.
[0013] [1] 1. A center bearing support that elastically supports, to a vehicle body side of a center bearing that is rotatably mounted on an outer circumferential surface of a propeller shaft of an automobile that transmits rotational driving force, the center bearing being mounted on the vehicle body side with its outer circumferential surface in contact with the vehicle body member; a cylindrical outer ring that is attached to the center bearing with its inner circumferential surface in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the center bearing; and an elastic body that connects an inner circumferential surface of the outer ring and an outer circumferential surface of the inner ring and extends in a bellows-like bent shape that is convex in one direction along the propeller shaft between the inner circumferential surface of the outer ring and the outer circumferential surface of the inner ring, the elastic body having a bent plate-like base portion that extends in the bellows-like bent shape while maintaining a constant thickness between the inner circumferential surface of the outer ring and the outer circumferential surface of the inner ring, and a convex portion that is layered on a convex surface that is the surface on the one side of one of both sides of the bent portion of the base portion and protrudes in the one direction, the base portion and the convex portion being integrally formed from an elastic material.
[0014] [2] The center bearing support according to [1], wherein the resonant frequency of the elastic body is 600 to 1000 Hz.
[0015] [3] The center bearing support according to [2], wherein a ratio of a volume of the convex portion to a volume of the bent portion of the base portion is 0.6 to 0.8.
[0016] [4] The center bearing support according to any one of [1] to [3], wherein the elastic body has a plurality of the protrusions at positions spaced apart from each other. Effect of the Invention
[0017] In the present invention, due to the presence of the convex portion laminated on the convex surface of the base portion having a certain thickness, the thickness of the bent portion of the elastic body consisting of the bent portion of the base portion and the convex portion is greater than the thickness of the other portions of the elastic body. Therefore, the mass of the bent portion is greater than that in the absence of the convex portion, and the resonant frequency of the elastic body is reduced. In the present invention, by shifting the resonant frequency of the elastic body to the low frequency side in this way, the overlap between the frequency range around the resonant frequency of the elastic body and the frequency range of high-frequency vibration of the propeller shaft and the vehicle body is reduced. As a result, in the present invention, a center bearing support suitable for suppressing a decrease in vibration absorption capacity in the high-frequency range is realized. [0019] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. It should be understood that the present invention is not limited to the following embodiment, and that appropriate design changes, improvements, etc. may be made based on the ordinary knowledge of a person skilled in the art without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0020] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a center bearing support 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention together with a propeller shaft 4 of an automobile 100, and FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a cross section of the center bearing support 10 of FIG.
[0021] The propeller shaft 4 of the automobile 100 is one component of a driving force transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotational driving force obtained from the engine 5 to the wheels 6 on the opposite side of the engine 5. The center bearing support 10 of this embodiment is a member for elastically supporting a center bearing (not shown in FIG. 3 because it is covered by the center bearing support 10) rotatably attached to the outer circumferential surface of the propeller shaft 4 on the vehicle body (not shown) side of the automobile 100. As for the center bearing, a conventionally known one, for example, the same one as the center bearing of Patent Document 1, can be used. Note that the propeller shaft 4 in FIG. 1 is not a single piece (one piece) but is divided into two pieces near the center bearing support 10 from the viewpoint of durability against shocks and vibrations and layout.
[0022] As shown in the cross-sectional perspective view of FIG. 4, the center bearing support 10 includes an outer ring 3, an inner ring 2, and an elastic body 1.
[0023] The outer ring 3 is a cylindrical member that is attached to a member (not shown) on the vehicle body side of the automobile 100 in FIG. 3 with the outer peripheral surface 3b of the outer ring 3 in contact with the member (not shown) on the vehicle body side. For example, a metallic cylindrical member can be used as the outer ring 3. The outer ring 3 does not have to be a single part, but may be a combination of multiple parts into a shape close to a cylinder (cylindrical). Note that an example of the vehicle body side member is a bracket fixed to the vehicle body side.
[0024] The inner ring 2 is a cylindrical member that is attached to a center bearing (not shown) that is mounted on the propeller shaft 4 of the automobile 100 in Fig. 3 with the inner peripheral surface 2b of the inner ring 2 in contact with the outer periphery of the center bearing. For example, a metallic cylindrical member can be used as the inner ring 2. The inner ring 2 does not need to be a single part either, and may be a combination of multiple parts that form a shape close to a cylinder.
[0025] The elastic body 1 is a member made of an elastic material and connected to the inner peripheral surface 3a of the outer ring 3 and the outer peripheral surface 2a of the inner ring 2. The elastic body 1 spreads between the inner peripheral surface 3a of the outer ring 3 and the outer peripheral surface 2a of the inner ring 2, forming a bellows-like bent shape that is convex toward one direction (X direction in FIG. 4) along the propeller shaft 4 (see FIG. 3).
[0026] In the center bearing support 10, such an elastic body 1 is configured to be interposed between the outer ring 3 and the inner ring 2, thereby absorbing vibrations transmitted between the propeller shaft 4 (see Figure 3) and the body (not shown) of the automobile 100 (see Figure 3).
[0027] The elastic body 1 will be described in more detail below.
[0028] As shown in FIG. 4, the elastic body 1 has a base portion 15 and a convex portion 14 as its constituent parts, and the elastic body 1 is formed such that the base portion 15 and the convex portion 14 are integrally formed from the above-mentioned elastic material.
[0029] Here, the base portion 15 is a bent plate-like portion that spreads out in the above-mentioned bellows-like bent shape while maintaining a constant thickness between the inner peripheral surface 3a of the outer ring 3 and the outer peripheral surface 2a of the inner ring 2. Note that "maintaining a constant thickness" here means that the plate-like base portion 15 has approximately the same thickness at every point, and does not necessarily mean that the completely same thickness value is strictly maintained at every point of the plate-like base portion 15.
[0030] On the other hand, the convex portion 14 is a portion that is layered on the convex surface 11a facing the X direction in FIG. 4 and protrudes in the X direction, out of the convex surface 11a and the concave surface 11b that are the two surfaces of the curved portion of the base portion 15 (the base curved portion 11 described later).
[0031] As shown in FIG. 4, the elastic body 1 has a convex portion 14 laminated on the convex surface 11a of the base portion 15 having a certain thickness, and the thickness of the bent portion of the elastic body 1 consisting of the bent portion of the base portion 15 (a base bent portion 11 described later) and the convex portion 14 is greater than the thickness of the other portions of the elastic body 1. Therefore, the mass of the bent portion is greater than that in the case where the convex portion 14 does not exist, and the resonant frequency of the elastic body 1 is therefore smaller. In this embodiment, the resonant frequency of the elastic body 1 is shifted to the lower frequency side in this way, thereby reducing the overlap between the frequency range around the resonant frequency of the elastic body 1 and the frequency range of the high-frequency vibration of the propeller shaft 4 (see FIG. 3) and the body of the automobile 100 (see FIG. 3). As a result, in this embodiment, a center bearing support suitable for suppressing a decrease in vibration absorption capacity in the high-frequency range is realized.
[0032] The elastic body 1 will be described in more detail below.
[0033] As described above, the presence of protrusions 14 can lower the resonance frequency of elastic body 1, but it is preferable to adjust the size of protrusions 14 so that the resonance frequency of elastic body 1 is 600 to 1000 Hz.
[0034] According to such a configuration, the overlap between the frequency range around the resonant frequency of the elastic body 1 and the frequency range of high-frequency vibrations of the propeller shaft 4 (see FIG. 3) and the body of the automobile 100 (see FIG. 3) is more reliably reduced.
[0035] Here, when the base portion 15 is roughly classified according to the shapes of its constituent parts as shown in FIG. 4, the base portion 15 is mainly composed of three parts, the outer ring side flexible part 13, the inner ring side flexible part 12, and the base bent part 11. The outer ring side flexible part 13 is a part that extends from the inner peripheral surface 3a of the outer ring 3 in a cylindrical shape including a slight taper. On the other hand, the inner ring side flexible part 12 is a part that extends from the outer peripheral surface 2a of the inner ring 2 in a cylindrical shape including a slight taper. The base bent part 11 is a bent plate-like part as shown by the dotted line in FIG. 4, with both ends connected to the outer ring side flexible part 13 and the inner ring side flexible part 12, and is a part that corresponds to the above-mentioned "bent part of the base portion 15". Both convex surface 11a and concave surface 11b of base bending portion 11 are curved, but the circles corresponding to the radii of curvature of the cross sections of convex surface 11a and concave surface 11b (see FIG. 4) are concentric with each other.
[0036] In this case, the ratio of the volume of the protrusion 14 to the volume of the base bent portion 11 is preferably 0.6 to 0.8.
[0037] According to such a configuration, the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1 tends to fall within the range of 600 to 1000 Hz.
[0038] In the above embodiment, only one protrusion 14 exists in the elastic body 1, but in the present invention, a plurality of similar protrusions may exist. Such an embodiment will be described below.
[0039] FIG. 5 is a perspective view in cross section of a center bearing support 10' according to another embodiment of the invention different from that of FIG.
[0040] In Fig. 5, the same components as those in Fig. 4 are given the same reference numerals, and duplicated explanations will be omitted. The center bearing support 10' in Fig. 5 differs from the center bearing support 10 in Fig. 4 in that an elastic body 1' having a plurality of protrusions 14' (specifically, three protrusions 14') is used. Except for this, the center bearing support 10' in Fig. 5 has the same configuration as the center bearing support 10 in Fig. 4.
[0041] That is, the elastic body 1' in Fig. 5 also has a base portion 15' having a certain thickness, an outer ring side flexible portion 13' and an inner ring side flexible portion 12' that extend in a cylindrical shape including a slight taper, and a base bent portion 11' (see the dotted line in the figure) whose both ends are connected to these. Here, the circles corresponding to the radii of curvature of the cross section of the convex surface 11a' and the concave surface 11b' of the base bent portion 11' are concentric with each other. However, unlike the elastic body 1 in Fig. 4, the elastic body 1' in Fig. 5 has a plurality of convex portions 14' (specifically, three convex portions 14') at positions separated from each other on the convex surface 11a' of the base portion 15'.
[0042] 5, due to the presence of the three protruding parts 14', the thickness of the bending part of the elastic body 1 consisting of the base bending part 11' and the three protruding parts 14' is greater than the thickness of the other parts of the elastic body 1'. Accordingly, the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1' is shifted to the lower frequency side, and the overlap between the frequency range around the resonance frequency of the elastic body 1 and the frequency range of the high-frequency vibration of the propeller shaft 4 (see FIG. 3) and the body of the automobile 100 (see FIG. 3) is reduced.
[0043] Generally, if the thickness of the bent portion of the elastic body is greater than the thickness of other portions, there is a concern that the elastic body will have reduced ability to follow the axial displacement of the propeller shaft 4 (see Figure 3) and therefore will have reduced durability.
[0044] However, in the elastic body 1' in Fig. 5, the three protrusions 14' are positioned at positions spaced apart from one another, which reduces the decrease in followability compared to the case in which a single protrusion 14 is present in one place as in Fig. 4. As a result, the durability of the elastic body 1' is improved in the center bearing support 10' in Fig. 5.
[0045] Also, in the center bearing support 10' of Fig. 5, it is preferable that the resonant frequency of the elastic body 1' is 600 to 1000 Hz, and the ratio of the total volume of the protruding portion 14' (the sum of the volumes of the three protruding portions 14') to the volume of the base bending portion 11' is 0.6 to 0.8. As described above, by setting the resonant frequency to 600 to 1000 Hz, the overlap between the frequency range around the resonant frequency of the elastic body 1' and the frequency range of the high-frequency vibration of the propeller shaft 4 (see Fig. 3) and the body of the automobile 100 (see Fig. 3) is more reliably reduced. And, by setting the ratio to 0.6 to 0.8, the resonant frequency is more likely to fall within the range of 600 to 1000 Hz.
[0046] The above is a description of the embodiment of the present invention.
[0047] In the above description, the cases where the number of protrusions is one and three have been described, but the present invention may also employ embodiments where the number of protrusions is two or four or more. [Industrial Applicability]
[0048] The present invention is useful for realizing a center bearing support suitable for suppressing a decrease in vibration absorbing capacity in the high frequency range. [Explanation of symbols]
