[0035] A user can inhale air by holding the stick 400 inserted into the insertion space 124 in his / her mouth. When the upper case 200 is coupled to the body 100, air can flow into the inside of the aerosol generating device through the opening 201 formed in the upper case 200. [0036] 5, the partition 122 of the pipe portion 120 may partition the insertion space 124 and the coupling space S. The partition 122 may be disposed between the insertion space 124 and the coupling space S. The partition 122 may extend vertically. One side wall 323 of the cartridge 300 may face one surface of the partition 122. The one side wall 323 of the cartridge 300 may be coupled to a coupler 125 (see FIG. 3) formed on the partition 122.
[0037] The pipe part 120 may provide an insertion space 124. The insertion space 124 may be formed inside an outer wall 121 and a partition wall 122 of the pipe part 120. [0039] The wick 311 may be disposed in the second chamber C2. The wick 311 may be connected to the first chamber C1. The wick 311 may receive liquid from the first chamber C1. The heater 312 may be disposed in the second chamber C2. The heater 312 may be wound around the wick 311. The heater 312 may receive power from the battery 10 (see FIG. 1). The heater 312 may heat the wick 311. When the heater 312 heats the wick 311 that has received the liquid, an aerosol may be generated in the second chamber C2.
[0040] The cartridge 300 may include a first inlet 3011. The first inlet 3011 may be formed by opening one side of an upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300. The first inlet 3011 may be formed at a position offset from the first chamber C1 in the up-down direction.
[0041] The cartridge 300 may include a second inlet 3012. The second inlet 3012 may be formed on one side of the second chamber C2 and may communicate with the second chamber C2.
[0042] The cartridge 300 may include an inlet 302. The inlet 302 may be located between a first inlet 3011 and a second inlet 3012. The inlet 302 may connect the first inlet 3011 and the second inlet 3012. The inlet 302 may extend long in the vertical direction. The inlet 302 may be formed parallel to the first chamber C1.
[0043] The cartridge 300 may include an outlet 303. The outlet 303 may be formed by opening the second chamber C2. The outlet 303 may communicate the outside of the cartridge 300 with the second chamber C2. The outlet 303 may be located on the opposite side of the second inlet 3012 with respect to the second chamber C2. When the cartridge 300 is coupled to the pipe unit 120, the outlet 303 may be coupled to the connecting channel 123. The outlet 303 may communicate the connecting channel 123 with the second chamber C2. An outlet port 323 forming the outlet 303 may protrude from one side of the cartridge 300. When the cartridge 300 is coupled to the pipe unit 120, the outlet port 323 may be inserted into one end of the connecting channel 123.
[0044] The extension part 140 may extend to one side from an upper part of the pipe part 120. The upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300 may be covered by the extension part 140. The lower surface 141 of the extension part 140 may face the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300. The lower surface 141 of the extension part 140 may cover the first inlet 3011 and the periphery of the first inlet 3011. Gaps 146 may be formed between the lower surface 141 of the extension part 140 and the first inlet 3011 and between the lower surface 141 of the extension part 140 and the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300. The gaps 146 may be in communication with the first inlet 3011. The gaps 146 may be in communication with the sensing hole 144.
[0045] The sensor 143 may be provided inside the extension 140. The sensor 143 may be disposed between the lower surface 141 and the upper surface 142 of the extension 140. The sensor 143 may sense the surrounding air flow. When air flows into the inlet 3011, the sensor 143 may sense the air flow. The sensor 143 may be a pressure sensor. The sensor 143 may sense the air flow according to a change in the surrounding pressure. The sensor 143 may be mounted on a substrate 145 disposed inside the extension 140, and may be electrically connected to the control unit 20 (see FIG. 1).
[0046] The sensing hole 144 may be formed by opening the lower surface 141 of the extension part 140. The sensing hole 144 may be formed at a position corresponding to the sensor 143. The sensing hole 144 may connect the gap 146 to the sensor 143. The sensor 143 may sense a change in air pressure at the sensing hole 144, allowing the control unit 20 (see FIG. 1 ) to determine the inflow of air into the first inlet 3011.
[0047] Air may flow from the gap 146 to the first inlet 3011. The air flowing into the first inlet 3011 may flow into the second chamber C2 by sequentially passing through the inlet 302 and the second inlet 3012. The air flowing into the second chamber C2 may be discharged to the outside of the cartridge 300 through the outlet 303, together with the aerosol generated around the core 311. The air discharged through the outlet 303 may be supplied to the insertion space 124 and the stick 400 inserted into the insertion space 124 through the connecting flow path 123.
[0048] 5 to 7, the lower surface 141 of the extension portion 140 may include an inclined surface 1411. The inclined surface 1411 may be inclined from the end toward the pipe portion 120 so that the distance between the extension portion 140 and the cartridge 300 becomes gradually smaller. Thus, the gap 146 may become gradually smaller as it approaches the pipe portion 120. The inclined surface 1411 may be inclined so as to extend from the upper side to the lower side from the end toward the pipe portion 120.
[0049] The lower surface 141 of the extension 140 may include a flat surface 1412. The flat surface 1412 may extend from the end of the inclined surface 1411 adjacent to the pipe section 120 to the pipe section 120. The flat surface 1412 may extend horizontally to the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300.
[0050] Therefore, it may be easier to insert the cartridge 300 into the coupling space S and couple it with the body 100. The inclined surface 1411 may guide the cartridge 300 so that the cartridge 300 is inserted into the coupling space S. Even if the cartridge 300 comes into contact with the extension 140 when the cartridge 300 is inserted into the coupling space S, the cartridge 300 may come into contact with the inclined surface 1411 and slide while being guided into the coupling space S. The cartridge 300 may be guided into the coupling space S by the inclined surface 1411 and coupled with the coupler 125 (see FIG. 3 ).
[0051] 8, a first distance t1 of the gap 146 from the inclined surface 1411 to the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300 in the vertical direction may be greater than a second distance t2 of the gap 146 from the flat surface 1412 to the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300. A first inlet 3011 formed in the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300 may be located below the inclined surface 1411. The first inlet 3011 may be positioned offset from the flat surface 1412 in the vertical direction.
[0052] Therefore, resistance to air flowing from the gap 146 to the first inlet 3011 is reduced, and air can more smoothly flow into the first inlet 3011. In addition, liquid droplets leaking from the cartridge 300 can be prevented from flowing into the sensor 143 through the sensing hole 144.
[0053] The sensing hole 144 may be formed by opening the flat surface 1412. The sensing hole 144 may be in communication with the gap 146. The sensor 143 may be disposed at a position corresponding to the sensing hole 144. The sensor 143 may sense the change in air pressure at the sensing hole 144. When air flows from the gap 146 to the first inlet 3011, the change in air pressure may be larger in the gap 146 between the flat surface 1412 and the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300 than in the gap 146 between the inclined surface 1411 and the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300. Thus, the sensitivity and accuracy of the sensor 143 may be improved.
[0054] Therefore, the cartridge 300 can be easily attached, air can smoothly flow into the inside of the cartridge 300, and the accuracy of the sensor 143 can be maintained or improved.
[0055] 9, the first inlet 3011 may be formed by opening the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300. The first inlet 3011 may be disposed on the upper side of the first chamber C1. The first inlet 3011 may be located on the lower side of the plane 1412. The sensing hole 144 may be formed by opening the plane 1412. The first inlet 3011 may face the sensing hole 144 formed in the plane 1412.
[0056] The inlet passage 302 may include a first inlet passage 3021 and a second inlet passage 3022. One end of the first inlet passage 3021 may be connected to the first inlet 3011. The first inlet passage 3021 may extend long from the upper side of the first chamber C1 to the left and right. The first inlet passage 3021 may extend from the first inlet 3011 to the second inlet passage 3021. The second inlet passage 3022 may extend in the up and down direction from the side of the first chamber C1. The upper end of the second inlet passage 3022 may be connected to the other end of the first inlet passage 3021. Air may flow from the gap 146 through the first inlet 3011, the first inlet passage 3021, and the second inlet passage 3022 in sequence.
[0057] Therefore, when air flows into the first inlet 3011 from the gap 146, the change in air pressure in the sensing hole 144 can be greater. Also, the cartridge 300 can be easily coupled, and the sensitivity and accuracy of the sensor 143 can be improved.
[0058] 10 and 11, the lower surface 141 of the extension 140 may include a flat surface 1412 and an inclined surface 1411. The inclined surface 1411 may be formed at a position corresponding to the first inlet 3011, and the flat surface 1412 may be formed at a position corresponding to the first chamber C1. A gap 146 may be formed between the inclined surface 1411 and the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300. The distance of the gap 146 between the inclined surface 1413 and the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300 may be larger than the distance of the gap 146 between the flat surface 1412 and the upper surface 322 of the cartridge 300.
[0059] The sensing hole 144 may be formed on the flat surface 1412 and adjacent to the inclined surface 1411. Alternatively, the sensing hole 144 may be formed on the inclined surface 1411. The first inlet 3011 may be formed below the inclined surface 1412. The sensing hole 144 and the first inlet 3011 may face each other. The inclined surface 1411 may guide the inflow of air to the sensing hole 144 and the first inlet 3011.
[0060] Therefore, air can smoothly flow into the inside of the cartridge 300, and the sensitivity and accuracy of the sensor 143 can be improved.
[0061] 11 and 12, the layer 147 may block the sensing hole 144. The layer 147 may be disposed between the sensing hole 144 and the sensor 143. The layer 147 may contact the sensing portion of the sensor 143. The layer 147 may be breathable. The layer 147 may be a porous layer. Air A may pass through the layer 147. When air flows into the first inlet 3011 from the gap 146, the surrounding air may pass through the layer 147, and the air pressure change around the sensing hole 144 may increase.
[0062] Therefore, in order to improve the installation of the cartridge 300, an inclined surface 1411 is formed, and the size of the gap 146 is increased, thereby improving the sensitivity and accuracy of the sensor 143 even if the surrounding air pressure change is reduced.
[0063] The layer 147 may be a waterproof film. Each of the holes 1474 formed in the layer 147 may be large enough to allow air A to pass through, but may be smaller than the particles of the liquid B. For example, the layer 147 may be a membrane film that selectively allows a specific component to pass through. For example, the layer 147 may be a GORE-TEX membrane.
[0064] Therefore, air A passes through layer 147, but liquid B is prevented from passing through layer 147 and flowing into sensor 143. In addition, it is possible to prevent liquid in the air from flowing into sensor 143 and accumulating therein, thereby causing failure of sensor 143.
[0065] Referring to Figures 1 to 12, according to one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided an aerosol generating device including a pipe portion having an insertion space formed therein and including a seating portion extending from a lower portion and an extension portion extending from an upper portion, and a cartridge seated on the seating portion, wherein a lower surface of the extension portion is adjacent to an upper surface of the cartridge when the cartridge is seated on the seating portion, and the lower surface of the extension portion includes an inclined surface such that a gap between the cartridge and the lower surface gradually increases toward the end of the extension portion.
[0066] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the cartridge can include an inlet on a top surface of the cartridge.
[0067] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the aerosol generating device may further include a sensor disposed in the extension portion for sensing air flow.
[0068] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the aerosol generating device may further include a sensing hole formed on a lower surface of the extension at a position corresponding to the sensor.
[0069] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, a lower surface of the extension portion may further include a plane extending horizontally between the inclined surface and a portion of the pipe portion intersecting with the extension portion.
[0070] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, a first distance between the inclined surface and a top surface of the cartridge at an end of the extension may be greater than a second distance between the plane and a top surface of the cartridge.
[0071] According to another aspect of the present disclosure, the sensing hole may be formed in the plane.
