[0001] Priority and Related Applications This patent application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. Patent Application No. 16 / 532,018, filed Aug. 5, 2019, entitled “Anhydrous Compositions and Articles for Makeup Removal,” the disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference as if fully rewritten herein.

[0003] The removal of stubborn makeup has always been a problem and a consumer pain point, especially for waterproof mascara, long-lasting foundation, and long-lasting lip products. After 30 minutes, the esthetician removed the makeup using the test articles (invention and comparative), and the degree of removal was evaluated by the amount of residual makeup removed by using Lancôme™ Bi-Facil™ Makeup Remover (a two-phase makeup removal product) at 2 mL on cotton pads, up to a maximum of six cotton pads. The higher the makeup removal efficacy of the test formulation, the fewer the cotton pads with Bi-Facil™ required to remove it, since there would be less residual makeup. The makeup removal efficacy data was plotted using a 2D graph as shown in Figure 1; the data shown in Figure 1 is presented in Table 7.

Claim 1. A makeup removing composition comprising: i. Ethylhexyl palmitate and one or a combination of isopropyl myristate and isopropyl palmitate, at least two branched alkylated alcohol esters present at 36% to 77% by weight of the composition; ii. At least one dialkylated ether and at least one dialkyl carbonate; iii. At least one nonionic surfactant; and iv. At least one plant-derived oil containing corn germ oil, present at 18% to 66% by weight of the composition; comprising wherein the composition contains less than 5% by weight of water based on the total weight of the composition, a makeup removing composition. Claim 2. i. The at least two branched alkylated alcohol esters include isopropyl myristate and isopropyl palmitate, or isopropyl palmitate and ethylhexyl palmitate; ii. The at least one dialkylated ether and at least one dialkyl carbonate include dicaprylyl ether and dicapryl carbonate; iii. The at least one nonionic surfactant includes polyglyceryl-6 dicaprate, polyglyceryl-2 oleate, and polyglyceryl-10 dioleate; iv. The at least one plant-derived oil includes one or more of rapeseed oil, shea butter, almond oil, apricot kernel oil, sunflower seed oil, carophyllum, palm, castor, babassu, avocado oil, jojoba seed oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and cereal germ oil, glyceryl tri (caprylate / caprate), sesame seed oil, wheat germ oil, argania spinosa kernel oil, soybean oil, canola oil, rice bran oil, or a combination thereof; The makeup removing composition according to Claim 1. Claim 3. The makeup removing composition according to Claim 1, comprising a solvent containing isohexadecane. Claim 4. The makeup removing composition according to claim 1, wherein the composition contains less than 5% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of one or both of silicone and mineral oil. **Claim 5**: A makeup removing and cleansing article, a. a substrate; b. a cleansing composition contained in the substrate, the cleansing composition comprising: i. at least two branched alkylated alcohol esters, comprising ethylhexyl palmitate and one or a combination of isopropyl myristate and isopropyl palmitate, present at 36% to 77% by weight of the composition; ii. at least one dialkylated ether and at least one dialkyl carbonate; iii. at least one nonionic surfactant present at 0.45% to 5.5% by weight of the composition; and iv. at least one plant-derived oil, comprising corn germ oil, present at 18% to 55% by weight of the composition; wherein the composition contains less than 5% by weight of water, based on the total weight of the composition, and the cleansing composition is impregnated on the substrate at an impregnation rate of 100% to 1000% by weight of the cleansing composition relative to the weight of the substrate. A makeup removing and cleansing article. **Claim 6** The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5, wherein the substrate is water-insoluble. **Claim 7** The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5, wherein the substrate is water-soluble. **Claim 8** The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5, wherein the cleansing composition is impregnated on the substrate at an impregnation rate of 250% to 400% by weight of the cleansing composition relative to the weight of the substrate. **Claim 9** The article is a makeup removing wipe containing non-woven fibers, and the fibers are formed from natural biodegradable and sustainably sourced fibers selected from (1) natural origin fibers including one or a combination of pulp, viscose, lyocell, cellulose acetate, and cotton, (2) natural fibers including one or a combination of hemp, linen, seaweed, ramie, banana, and pineapple, and (3) recycled or recycled fibers including cotton, and combinations thereof. The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5. **Claim 10** The composition contains less than 5% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of one or both of silicone and mineral oil, and the at least two branched alkylated alcohol esters include at least isopropyl palmitate and ethylhexyl palmitate. The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5.

The makeup removing and cleansing article includes one or more non-woven sheets containing water-soluble fibers, the sheets are soluble in running or still water having a temperature of 30 °C or lower, and are insoluble when contacted with an anhydrous formulation containing 5% or less water based on the weight of the composition. The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5.

12. The makeup removing and cleansing article includes water-soluble fibers containing polyvinyl alcohol, hydroxy(C1-C6)alkyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyalkylene oxide, gelatin, a copolymer of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid, or a combination thereof. The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5.

13. At least one of the one or more sheets is a spun-wound non-woven sheet or a needle-punched non-woven sheet. The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5.

14. The water-soluble fibers are characterized as including polyvinyl alcohol fibers, and are functionally modified by mechanical treatment, chemical treatment, or coating, and include a hydrophobic coating. The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5.

15. The article includes a cleansing pod between two adjacent sheets, and the cleansing pod includes a cleansing composition enclosed in a water-soluble non-woven wipe or a water-soluble film. The makeup removing and cleansing article according to claim 5.
