Building wall structures and reinforcement

The reinforcing element addresses the issue of C-shaped steel studs being weaker than square steel by providing a reinforcing element that can be attached to the ends of a C-shaped steel studs, comprising a spacing member with facing members and clamping members that intersect the edges and extend in the up-down direction, and clamping members that intersect the edges and extend in the front-to-back direction, with a pair of parallel regions and receding regions to secure the stud in place.

AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

C-shaped steel studs are weaker than square steel and prone to twisting and rotating within runners when subjected to high loads, making them unsuitable as wall columns, while conventional spacers do not adequately enhance their strength, and reinforcing tools attached before installation complicate construction if forgotten.

Method used

A reinforcing element is attached to the ends of a C-shaped stud, comprising a spacing member with facing members and clamping members that intersect the edges and extend in the up-down direction, and clamping members that intersect the edges and extend in the front-to-back direction, with a pair of parallel regions and receding regions to secure the stud in place.

Benefits of technology

The reinforcing element allows for the retrofitting of studs during construction, enhancing the strength of the wall by preventing deformation and enhancing the strength of the studs, thereby preventing the studs from twisting and rotating within the runners, ensuring the wall can withstand high loads.

Abstract

To provide a reinforcement tool which can be retrofitted to ends of studs during wall construction.SOLUTION: A reinforcement tool (5) comprises: a space maintenance part (61) that is disposed between edges of studs in a fitted state and has, on both sides, counter parts (55) crossing the edges and vertically extending; and a holding part (62) that is provided integrally with the space maintenance part to hold the respective edges of the studs in a front-back direction. The counter parts (55) on both sides of the space maintenance part includes: a pair of parallel regions (55a) that extend in parallel with each other and come into contact with end surfaces of the edges in the fitted state; and at least a pair of retreating regions (55b and 55c) that are positioned on the diagonal line of the space maintenance part and retreat from the parallel regions to extend.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
