AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The existing construction machines face challenges in maintaining the outside air filters easily and in reducing the exposure of water droplets and dust to these filters, as they are often located inside the swivel base and not externally accessible.

Method used

A filter holding unit is designed to be mounted on the outer surface of the cab's floor plate, featuring a case with vertical openings and a cover that allows for easy insertion and tilting of the filter, with air intake ports that guide air into the filter cavity, reducing exposure to external elements.

Benefits of technology

This design improves the maintainability of outdoor air filters and minimizes the exposure of filters to water and dust, enhancing the overall maintenance experience and filter effectiveness.

Abstract

To provide a filter holding unit capable of improving workability of maintenance works for an outside air filter and capable of properly reducing amount of water etc. exposed to the outside air filter.SOLUTION: A filter holding unit is attached to a floor plate of a construction machine cab in one embodiment. A filter housing cavity capable of housing an outside air filter is formed inside the case of the filter holding unit, and the filter housing cavity opens vertically downward in a first opening, and opens vertically upward in a second opening and toward the inside of the cab. A cover comprises a base plate part to cover the case vertically from below and a visor part protruding toward an outer peripheral side with respect to the case, and a suction port opening vertically upward is formed between the visor part and the case. Sucked outside air passes through the gap between the base plate part and the case, and through the first opening in order, and flows into the filter housing cavity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
