[0001] The present invention relates to an article carrier and a blank for forming the article carrier. More specifically, but not exclusively, the present invention relates to a carrier of the type that grips a top having one or more holes for receiving and holding an article therein.
Background Art
[0002] In the field of packaging, it is known to provide a carton for carrying a plurality of articles. Cartons are well known in this field and are useful for enabling consumers to transport, store, and obtain a group of articles for consumption. Due to cost and environmental issues, such cartons or carriers should be formed from as little material as possible and should minimize the waste of the material from which they are formed. A further problem is the strength of the carton and its suitability for holding and transporting heavy articles. The contents of the carton are desirably safe within the carton.

The article carrier comprises an engaging panel having at least one article engaging structure for engaging with a portion of at least one article. The article carrier comprises a bundle structure for enclosing at least one article. The bundle structure comprises a first segment and a second segment. The first segment includes a first panel hinged to the engaging panel and a bridge portion hinged to the first panel. The second segment includes a second panel hinged to the engaging panel and a third panel hinged to the second panel and positioned to overlap the second panel.
