[0005] In certain embodiments, the present invention provides a system and method for enabling a “managed” mobile device or “primary” mobile device to perform selected MDM functions with respect to one or more “managed” or “dependent” mobile devices. For example, in an educational context, the managed mobile device may be a tablet computer operated by a teacher or supervisor, and the managed mobile devices may be tablet computers operated by students. By granting teachers the authority to perform specific MDM functions, the overall functionality of mobile devices in the classroom can be improved. For example, teachers may no longer need to interact with IT administrators for relatively minor issues. For example, teachers may be able to use their own mobile device to limit “focus” on students’ mobile devices.
