Abstract
A method for producing tetrafluoroethylene using fluorocarbons as a raw material, and a composition containing tetrafluoroethylene are provided. [Solution] The production method disclosed herein includes a step of obtaining tetrafluoroethylene by treating pentafluoroethane with a basic compound. The composition disclosed herein contains tetrafluoroethylene and pentafluoroethane. According to the production method for tetrafluoroethylene disclosed herein, tetrafluoroethylene can be obtained at a mild temperature through a simple process.
