Abstract

To provide an ingot preheating apparatus that allows easy adjustment of heating capacity, can efficiently preheat ingots, and can maintain a fixed temperature while minimizing energy loss even after heating.SOLUTION: An ingot preheating apparatus comprises: a preheating chamber 10 serving as a space for heating and preheating ingots; and a conveyance part for conveying the ingots. The conveyance part includes a plurality of rails 20 for placing ingots 2a, 2b, and 2c and conveying them. The preheating chamber 10 includes: an inlet shutter 11 for shielding an inlet of the preheating chamber 10; an outlet shutter 12 for shielding an outlet of the preheating chamber 10; and a heater 13 for blowing hot air onto the ingot 2a placed on the rails 20 and conveyed to a position in front of the outlet shutter 12 in the preheating chamber 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

[Claim 1] An ingot preheating device that heats casting ingots and preheats them before they are melted in a holding furnace, It comprises a preheating chamber, which is a space that houses multiple ingots and heats them to preheat them, and a transport section that transports the ingots inside and outside the preheating chamber. The transport unit has multiple rails on which ingots are placed and transported, and guides that restrict the left-right movement of the ingots on the rails. The preheating chamber includes an entrance shutter that shields the entrance to the preheating chamber, an exit shutter that shields the exit to the preheating chamber, and a heater that blows hot air onto the ingots that have been transported on rails to just before the exit shutter within the preheating chamber.
