Abstract
To provide a damping device that solves problems in conventional technologies, specifically a damping device that mitigates object vibrations while offering prolonged and more stable power generation compared to the conventional technologies, and to provide a damping method using the same.SOLUTION: A damping device is mounted to a vibrating object to dampen it. The damping device comprises a main weight, a main spring, a main damper, an auxiliary weight, an auxiliary spring, an auxiliary damper, a weight-interlinking spring, an inertia mass damper, and a power-generating element. The damping device comprises two modes of: a damping mode in which, while the object is vibrating, the main weight and the auxiliary weight vibrate to dampen the object; and a power-generating mode in which the power-generating element generates power following the relative vibration of the auxiliary weight to the main weight.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
