[0012] The embodiments and modifications described below are merely examples of the present disclosure, and the present disclosure is not limited to the following embodiments and modifications. Various modifications other than these embodiments and modifications are possible depending on the design, etc., as long as they do not deviate from the technical concept of the present disclosure. Furthermore, the configurations of the modifications can also be applied in appropriate combinations.

[0013] (1) Embodiment A blower according to one embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. As will be described later, the blower according to one embodiment is suitable for installation in a moving object such as an automobile, but may also be installed in other devices such as home appliances.

[0014] (1-1) Overall Structure of the Fan FIG. 1 is a plan view of a fan 1 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the fan 1 shown in FIG. 1 taken along line II-II. FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of a main portion of the fan 1 shown in FIG. 2. In FIGS. 2 and 3, an XZ Cartesian coordinate system is established, with the direction parallel to the central axis A1 defined as the Z direction and the direction perpendicular to the central axis A1 defined as the X direction. The axis at which X = 0, i.e., the Z axis, coincides with the central axis A1. The positive direction of the Z axis is defined as "up or upward," and the negative direction of the Z axis is defined as "down or downward." Note that "up or upward" and "down or downward" are relative terms and do not necessarily mean "up or upward" or "down or downward" in the vertical direction.

[0015] The direction perpendicular to the central axis A1 is sometimes referred to as the "radial direction." Furthermore, a region in a direction perpendicular to the central axis A1, as viewed from a certain location, that is closer to the central axis A1 than that location is referred to as the "inner," "inner side," or "inner circumference" region. Similarly, a region in a direction perpendicular to the central axis A1, as viewed from a certain location, that is farther from the central axis A1 than that location is referred to as the "outer," "outer side," or "outer circumference" region.

[0016] As shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3, a blower 1 in one embodiment includes a motor 12, a blower case 14 attached to the motor 12, and blades 16 rotatably mounted within the case 14.

[0017] In one embodiment, the blower 1 is a centrifugal blower configured to take in air along a central axis A2 of the blades 16 and exhaust air in a direction intersecting the central axis A2 (in one embodiment, a direction perpendicular to the central axis A2, i.e., the X-axis direction in FIG. 2 ).

[0018] In one embodiment, the central axis A2 of the blades 16 coincides with the central axis A1 of the rotary shaft 21 of the motor 12. The direction in which the blower 1 draws air coincides with the direction in which the motor 12 is positioned relative to the blades 16.

[0019] A first end 211 of the rotary shaft 21 in the direction along the central axis A1 is coupled to the blades 16. The blades 16 are rotated integrally with the rotary shaft 21 of the motor 12.

[0020] (1-2) Case The case 14 has an intake port 144 for drawing in outside air, an outlet port 145 for discharging air toward the outside space, and a flow path 146 connecting the intake port 144 and the outlet port 145.

[0021] When the blades 16 rotate inside the case 14 , air is drawn in through the intake port 144 and guided along the flow path 146 to the discharge port 145 .

[0022] In one embodiment, the inlet 144 is circular, and the outlet 145 is rectangular, for example.

[0023] The case 14 includes a first member 141 that forms one half of the case 14 and a second member 142 that forms the other half of the case 14. The case 14 is formed by fitting the first member 141 and the second member 142 together.

[0024] The intake port 144 is included in the first member 141. The outlet port 145 is formed when the first member 141 and the second member 142 are fitted together.

[0025] The flow passage 146 forms a spiral that surrounds the periphery of the blade 16. The flow passage 146 is formed when the first member 141 and the second member 142 are fitted together.

[0026] The case 14 further has an opening 140 for connecting the motor 12. The opening 140 is included in a second member 142.

[0027] When the first member 141 and the second member 142 are fitted together, the opening 140 included in the second member 142 is positioned opposite the intake port 144 included in the first member 141. The opening 140 is a circular opening.

[0028] The central axis A2 of the blade 16 is set to pass through the center of the opening 140. The opening 140 is an opening for inserting a part 121 of the motor 12 into the blower case 14. The part 121 of the motor 12 is disposed above a bottom surface 147 of the blower case 14, i.e., at a more positive position in the Z direction than the bottom surface 147.

[0029] 4 is a perspective view showing the motor 12 and the blades 16 of the blower 1 according to one embodiment, separated from each other. The blades 16 include a flat hub 161 connected to the rotating shaft 21 and a plurality of blade plates 165 connected to the hub 161.

[0030] The hub 161 has a flat plate shape and includes a pair of flat surfaces 1612 and 1613 facing in opposite directions.

[0031] The hub 161 includes a connecting portion 1615 that forms the center of the hub 161. The connecting portion 1615 is a cylindrical portion into which the first end 211 of the rotary shaft 21 is fitted. By fitting the first end 211 of the rotary shaft 21 into the connecting portion 1615 of the blades 16, the rotary shaft 21 and the blades 16 are coupled to be able to rotate integrally.

[0032] The central axis A2 of the blade 16 passes through the center of the hub 161 (in other words, the connecting portion 1615). The plurality of blade plates 165 protrude outward from a peripheral edge portion 1612a of a flat surface 1612 of the hub 161 when viewed from the central axis A2.

[0033] The plurality of vane plates 165 are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction surrounding the central axis A2 of the vane 16. The plurality of vane plates 165 are provided integrally with the hub 161.

[0034] Each vane plate 165 has an arc-shaped outer shape in a plan view. Each vane plate 165 includes an inner peripheral end 165a that is close to the central axis A2 of the vane 16 and an outer peripheral end 165b that is far from the central axis A2 of the vane 16.

[0035] (1-4) Motor The motor 12 is a so-called inner rotor type brushless motor.

[0036] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the motor 12 includes a rotor 2, a stator 3, two bearings, namely a first bearing 41 and a second bearing 42, a circuit board 7, and a motor case 8 that houses these.

[0037] (1-4-1) Rotor The rotor 2 includes a rotating shaft 21 as well as a yoke 23 in which at least one magnet 25 is disposed.

[0038] 5 is a perspective view of the yoke 23 included in the motor 12. For example, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 5, the yoke 23 has a through hole 237 through which the rotating shaft 21 is inserted. The through hole 237 is provided in the center of the yoke 23.

[0039] By inserting the rotary shaft 21 into the through hole 237, the yoke 23 and the rotary shaft 21 are coupled together so as to be able to rotate integrally.

[0040] The yoke 23 has two surfaces, namely a first surface 231 and a second surface 232, which face opposite to each other in the direction in which the through-hole 237 penetrates, that is, the Z direction.

[0041] The first surface 231 faces the circuit board 7. The second surface 232 faces the first bearing 41.

[0042] The first surface 231 is a surface that has an overall annular shape. The first surface 231 includes a portion close to the through-hole 237 and a portion distant from the through-hole 237, and the first recess 235 is provided in the portion distant from the through-hole 237. In Fig. 3, the first recess 235 is recessed downward.

[0043] The second surface 232 is a surface that has an overall annular shape, similar to the first surface 231. The second surface 232 includes a portion close to the through-hole 237 and a portion distant from the through-hole 237, and a second recess 236 is provided in the portion close to the through-hole 237. In Fig. 3, the second recess 236 is recessed upward.

[0044] The first recess 235 is an annular recess provided so as to surround the through-hole 237 (in other words, so as to surround the rotating shaft 21 coupled to the yoke 23). In one embodiment, the first recess 235 is annular. As will be described later, a part of the electronic component 6 is inserted into this annular first recess 235.

[0045] The second recess 236 is an annular recess provided so as to surround the through hole 237 (in other words, so as to surround the rotating shaft 21 coupled to the yoke 23). In one embodiment, the second recess 236 is annular.

[0046] The volume of the second recess 236 is smaller than the volume of the first recess 235. The area of the annular bottom surface of the second recess 236 is smaller than the area of the annular bottom surface of the first recess 235.

[0047] When viewed in the direction of the through-hole 237 (in other words, when viewed in the direction along the central axis A1 of the rotating shaft 21 coupled to the yoke 23), the second recess 236 is located inside the first recess 235. As will be described later, a part of the first bearing 41 is inserted into this annular second recess 236.

[0048] The yoke 23 is a disk-shaped member formed by bending a metal plate, and has high rigidity due to the bent portion. The yoke 23 includes an inner half 238 that is a portion close to the through hole 237 and an outer half 239 that is a portion away from the through hole 237.

[0049] In other words, the inner half 238 is the portion closer to the rotating shaft 21 coupled to the yoke 23 , and the outer half 239 is the portion farther from the rotating shaft 21 coupled to the yoke 23 .

[0050] The inner half 238 and the outer half 239 are connected in a continuous manner. The inner half 238 and the outer half 239 have shapes that are recessed in opposite directions along the central axis A1, i.e., the Z direction. The inner half 238 is provided with a second annular recess 236 having a relatively small diameter, and the outer half 239 is provided with a first annular recess 235 having a relatively large diameter.

[0051] In the yoke 23, the first recess 235 and the second recess 236 are recessed in opposite directions.

[0052] At least one magnet 25 is disposed on the outer circumferential surface of the yoke 23. Each magnet 25 is a permanent magnet.

[0053] The yoke 23 further has an outer peripheral edge 233 (see FIGS. 3 and 5 ). At least one magnet 25 is disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the outer peripheral edge 233. In one embodiment, the outer peripheral edge 233 forms a wall on the outer periphery of the first recess 235. The outer peripheral edge 233 has a shape that protrudes from the bottom of the first recess 235 toward the circuit board 7.

[0054] (1-4-2) Stator The stator 3 is disposed outward of the rotor 2 when viewed from the central axis A1.

[0055] The stator 3 includes a stator core 31 and a winding portion 33 made up of a plurality of windings wound around the stator core 31 .

[0056] The stator 3 is configured to supply a magnetic force that rotates the rotor 2. The rotational force of the rotor 2, which is surrounded by the stator 3, is output to the outside of the motor 12 through the rotating shaft 21.

[0057] The outer peripheral surface of the stator core 31 is in thermally conductive contact with the inner peripheral surface of the motor case 8. The stator 3 and the motor case 8 are thermally coupled. The motor case 8 and the stator 3 may be thermally coupled by direct contact, or may be thermally coupled by sandwiching a thermally conductive member therebetween.

[0058] 6 is a cutaway perspective view of a main portion of the motor 12 according to one embodiment. The first bearing 41 and the second bearing 42 are mounted on the inner surface of the motor case 8 to rotatably support the rotating shaft 21.

[0059] The first bearing 41 supports a portion of the rotating shaft 21 so as to be rotatable about the central axis A1. The second bearing 42 supports another portion of the rotating shaft 21 so as to be rotatable about the central axis A1.

[0060] The part of the rotating shaft 21 supported by the first bearing 41 is a second end 212 in the direction along the central axis A1 of the rotating shaft 21. In the direction along the central axis A1, the first end 211 and the second end 212 are positioned in opposite directions to each other.

[0061] Another part of the rotating shaft 21 supported by the second bearing 42 is a part 215 between the first end 211 and the second end 212 of the rotating shaft 21 .

[0062] A portion of the first bearing 41 is inserted into the second recess 236. A portion of the first bearing 41 is inserted into the second recess 236 via a clearance to maintain non-contact with the second recess 236.

[0063] The part of the first bearing 41 inserted into the second recess 236 is the part of the first bearing 41 that is closest to the circuit board 7 .

[0064] (1-4-4) Circuit Board The circuit board 7 is configured to control the supply of electricity to the stator 3.

[0065] In the motor 12 of one embodiment, the orientation of the circuit board 7 relative to the rotor 2 and the stator 3 coincides with the orientation of the rotating shaft 21 protruding from the motor case 8 .

[0066] In the blower 1 including the motor 12 of the embodiment, the orientation of the circuit board 7 relative to the rotor 2 and the stator 3 coincides with the orientation of the blades 16 relative to the motor 12 .

[0067] At least one tall electronic component 6 is mounted on the circuit board 7. The at least one electronic component 6 includes, for example, one or both of an electrolytic capacitor and a choke coil.

[0068] In one embodiment, the at least one electronic component 6 is one electronic component 6. This electronic component 6 is, for example, an electrolytic capacitor or a choke coil. A portion of this electronic component 6 is inserted into the first recess 235 (see, for example, FIGS. 3 and 6 ). The portion of the electronic component 6 is inserted into the first recess 235 via a clearance to maintain non-contact with the first recess 235.

[0069] The part of the electronic component 6 inserted into the first recess 235 is a part of the electronic component 6 that is separated from the circuit board 7 .

[0070] In one embodiment, another electronic component 6a that is shorter than the electronic component 6 is further mounted on the circuit board 7. The electronic component 6a is positioned at a distance from the first recess 235. In other words, the electronic component 6a is an electronic component that is not inserted into the first recess 235.

[0071] The circuit board 7 has a mounting surface 71 on which the electronic components 6 and 6 a are mounted. The mounting surface 71 faces the rotor 2 relative to the circuit board 7, in other words, the motor 12 relative to the blades 16.

[0072] The circuit board 7 further has a surface 72 facing away from the mounting surface 71. The surface 72 faces in the direction in which the circuit board 7 is positioned relative to the rotor 2, in other words, in the direction in which the blades 16 are positioned relative to the motor 12.

[0073] The circuit board 7 and the motor case 8 are thermally coupled via a thermally conductive member 51 (see FIG. 3 ). Heat generated by the electronic components 6, 6 a is conducted through the circuit board 7 and the member 51 to a part of the motor case 8 (i.e., a part 121 of the motor 12).

[0074] (1-4-5) Motor Case The motor case 8 is formed by fitting a first member 81 and a second member 82 together.

[0075] A first bearing 41 is disposed on the first member 81, and a second bearing 42 is disposed on the second member 82.

[0076] The portion 121 of the motor 12 that is inserted through the opening 140 above the lower surface 147 of the case 14 is configured as part of the second member 82 of the motor case 8. The outer surface of the portion 121 of the motor 12 (i.e., part of the second member 82) includes a flat surface 125.

[0077] When the rotating shaft 21 of the rotor 2 and the hub 161 of the blade 16 are connected, the flat surface 125 of the motor 12 and the flat surface 1613 of the hub 161 are positioned parallel to each other with a small gap between them within the blower case 14 (see Figure 3).

[0078] In the blower 1 of the embodiment, heat generated by the electronic components 6, 6a is conducted through the circuit board 7 and the member 51 to the part of the motor case 8 exposed inside the case 14, and is efficiently dissipated inside the case 14.

[0079] (1-4-6) Positional Relationship of Motor Components In one embodiment, when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the central axis A1 of the rotating shaft 21 (in other words, in the radial direction of the rotating shaft 21), the yoke 23 is arranged so as to overlap with the tall electronic components 6 mounted on the circuit board 7.

[0080] This is because a part of the electronic component 6 is inserted into the first recess 235 of the yoke 23 .

[0081] The first recess 235 is an annular recess surrounding the rotary shaft 21, and is therefore provided so that the electronic component 6 and the yoke 23 remain out of contact with each other even when the rotor 2 including the yoke 23 rotates.

[0082] Additionally, in one embodiment, the yoke 23 is arranged to overlap with the first bearing 41 when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the central axis A1 of the rotating shaft 21.

[0083] This is because a portion of the first bearing 41 is inserted into the second recess 236 of the yoke 23 .

[0084] The second recess 236 is an annular recess surrounding the rotary shaft 21, and is therefore provided so that the first bearing 41 and the yoke 23 remain out of contact with each other even when the rotor 2 including the yoke 23 rotates.

[0085] As described above, the orientation of the circuit board 7 relative to the rotor 2 coincides with the orientation of the rotating shaft 21 protruding from the motor case 8. Therefore, in the blower 1 of one embodiment, the circuit board 7 is located between the rotor 2 and the blades 16 in the direction along the central axis A1 of the rotating shaft 21.

[0086] With the circuit board 7 in this position, the heat of the circuit board 7 conducted from the electronic components 6, 6a, etc. is efficiently dissipated by the air flow created by the rotation of the blades 16 inside the case 14.

[0087] (1-5) Mobile Object FIG. 7 is a diagram that schematically illustrates a mobile object 9 that includes the blower 1 of one embodiment.

[0088] The mobile object 9 further includes a battery 92 , a control device 94 , a cable 96 , and a vehicle body 98 .

[0089] The mobile object 9 is a four-wheel hybrid vehicle having an engine and a driving battery 92 mounted on a vehicle body 98. The mobile object 9 is not limited to a hybrid vehicle, and may be, for example, an electric vehicle.

[0090] The battery 92 is configured with, for example, a lithium ion battery, a nickel-metal hydride battery, or the like, and supplies power to the motor 12, a drive motor for propelling the mobile body 9, and the like.

[0091] The control device 94 is electrically connected to the blower 1 by a cable 96 and controls the motor 12 of the blower 1 .

[0092] The control device 94 also controls the battery 92. More specifically, the control device 94 controls the power supply from the battery 92 to the motor 12, the drive motor, and the like.

[0093] The vehicle body 98 is equipped with the blower 1, a battery 92, a control device 94, and a cable 96.

[0094] The blower 1 mounted on the mobile object 9 functions as a cooling fan system for suppressing a rise in temperature of the battery 92. When the motor 12 in the blower 1 is driven to rotate, the blades 16 rotate and air is sent to the battery 92. This air-cools the battery 92 and suppresses a rise in temperature of the battery 92.

[0095] (2) Modifications The following lists modifications of the blower 1. In the modifications of the blower 1, the same components as those in the above-described embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[0096] In one embodiment, the yoke 23 of the rotor 2 has a curved shape that includes the first recess 235 and the second recess 236, but the shape of the yoke 23 is not limited to this. For example, the yoke 23 may have an inclined shape such that the yoke 23 is positioned farther away from the circuit board 7 as it moves outward from the central axis A1.

[0097] Even in this case, the yoke 23 can be provided so as to overlap with the electronic component 6 when viewed in the radial direction of the rotating shaft 21. The yoke 23 can also be provided so as to overlap with the first bearing 41 when viewed in the radial direction of the rotating shaft 21.

[0098] The yoke 23 may include only one of the first recess 235 and the second recess 236. Even in this case, the yoke 23 may be provided so as to overlap both the electronic component 6 and the first bearing 41 when viewed in the radial direction of the rotating shaft 21.

[0099] In one embodiment, the motor 12 is provided with a first bearing 41 that overlaps the yoke 23 and a second bearing 42 that does not overlap the yoke 23 to support the rotating shaft 21, but it is also possible to provide the yoke 23 so that it overlaps both the first bearing 41 and the second bearing 42 when viewed in the radial direction of the rotating shaft 21. It is also possible that the motor 12 does not include the second bearing 42.

[0100] In one embodiment, the orientation of the circuit board 7 relative to the rotor 2 and the stator 3 coincides with the orientation of the rotating shaft 21 protruding from the motor case 8, but this positional relationship may be reversed. In other words, the orientation of the circuit board 7 relative to the rotor 2 and the stator 3 may be reversed from the orientation of the rotating shaft 21 protruding from the motor case 8. In this case, the orientation of the mounting surface 71 of the circuit board 7 coincides with the orientation of the blades 16 relative to the motor 12.

[0101] In one embodiment, one electronic component 6 is inserted into the first recess 235, but multiple electronic components 6 may be inserted into the first recess 235. In this case, each of the multiple electronic components 6 overlaps with the yoke 23 when viewed in the radial direction of the rotating shaft 21.

[0102] In the blower 1 according to one embodiment, the hub 161 of the blade 16 is flat, but the shape of the hub 161 is not limited to this. For example, the central portion of the hub 161 may have a shape that bulges in the direction in which the rotating shaft 21 protrudes from the motor case 8.

[0103] (3) Summary As described above, the motor (12) according to the first aspect includes a rotor (2) including a rotating shaft (21), a stator (3) disposed outside the rotor (2) when viewed from the rotating shaft (21), a bearing (41) that rotatably supports the rotating shaft (21), and a circuit board (7) on which at least one electronic component (6) is mounted. The rotor (2) further includes a yoke (23) connected to the rotating shaft (21). When viewed in a direction perpendicular to the central axis (A1) of the rotating shaft (21), the yoke (23) is arranged to overlap the bearing (41) and the at least one electronic component (6).

[0104] According to this aspect, it is possible to reduce the height of the motor (12) in the direction along the central axis (A1) of the rotating shaft (21) of the motor (12).

[0105] In the motor (12) according to the second aspect, in addition to the first aspect, the yoke (23) has a surface (231) facing the circuit board (7), and this surface (231) includes a recess (235) into which a portion of at least one electronic component (6) is inserted.
