SHOCK ABSORBER WITH MECHANICAL STOP FOR TORQUE CONVERTER

Abstract

The present invention relates to a torque converter mechanical stop damper that has a simplified manufacturing process and prevents the outer springs from reaching their solid length. To achieve this, a torque converter mechanical stop damper is implemented comprising a drive plate; at least one outer spring; and a driven plate, wherein the driven plate further comprises at least one mechanical stop configured to contact the drive plate when the drive plate compresses each outer spring, and each mechanical stop is positioned to prevent each outer spring from reaching its solid length.
