Abstract
The present invention reveals an energy storage device called an acid-base flow battery (BFAB), which is formed from two electrodes (10) located at the ends of the BFAB;Adjacent to the right electrode, a rinse channel (11) and to its right a first cation exchange membrane (12), followed by a first separator (13) forming a first flow channel with a NaCl solution, followed by a first anion exchange membrane (14) and a second separator (15) forming a second flow channel with an HCl solution, followed by a bipolar membrane (8) in the center of the equipment, which to its right has a third separator (16) forming a third flow channel of caustic NaOH solution, followed by a second anion exchange membrane (17), adjacent to a fourth separator (18) containing a NaCl buffer solution, followed by a third cation exchange membrane (19) and adjacent to this, a second rinse channel (20) and finally, a second electrode (21).
