Abstract

Title: MEDICAL IMPLANT AND MECHANICAL MODE SWITCH SYSTEM ABSTRACT Disclosed is an implantable tube valve for implanting in a patient, comprising an implantable tube and a valve member mounted inside the tube and pivotable between an open mode and a closed mode. A biasing element preloads the pivot part on the first side of the pivot axis to bistably bias the valve member towards the open or closed mode. The biasing element comprises a compressible sleeve that is axially compressible for providing a preload force on the pivot part. The valve member comprises an operating surface that is mechanically operable by an external actuator device to move the valve member against the preload force between the open and closed mode.
