Sinter cooler

Abstract

Provided is a sinter cooler which makes it possible to effectively cool the whole of sintered ore without using cooling water. A sinter cooler (1) of the invention, in which ore (5) sintered in a sintering machine is accumulated on trough cars (3) and continuously cooled while moving the cars (3), includes: a lower cooling system (27) for bottom gas supply cooling, in which air passes through the ore (5) from below upward; and an upper cooling system (29) for top gas supply cooling, in which cooling gas is discharged onto the ore (5), the upper cooling system (29) having: a hollow discharge portion (34), having a cooling-gas discharging opening (37), above the cars (3) so that the opening (37) faces the ore (5); and a cooling gas supply device (36), connected to the discharge portion (34) via a duct (35), for supplying the cooling gas to the discharge portion (34) via the duct (35) at a positive pressure.
