SIMPLE METHOD OF EXTRACTING PEANUT (Arachis hypogea) OIL

Abstract

The present utility model relates to a method for peanut oil extraction. The method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing freshly harvested peanuts; (2) shelling the peanuts with mechanical sheller; (3) washing shelled peanuts with tap water; (4) pressing shelled peanuts using oil press machine to extract oil; (5) filtering extracted oil using fine cloth to remove residual impurities; and (6) storing the filtered extracted oil in sterilized containers. The method can process 30 kg of peanuts in an oil press machine for an hour at a maintained temperature above 120°C. Using this simple method, it can be an alternative process for processing peanut oil that is cost-effective, yielding a quality peanut oil product that can be suitable for small-scale production.
