Abstract

A biodegradable adhesive composite comprising a biobased polyurethane matrix synthesized from sesame seed oil and a magnetically susceptible filler made from recycled iron rust. The composite enables reversible bonding of various substrates including glass, metal, polymer, and wood. Upon exposure to an oscillating magnetic field of approximately 0.0176 T, the adhesive melts due to hysteresis heating of the filler, enabling clean and rapid debonding within about four minutes. The composite retains adhesive performance through at least 11 bonding-debonding cycles and supports ecofriendly, recyclable applications without the need for primers or specialized substrates. The system offers a sustainable alternative to conventional adhesives for temporary and reusable joint applications.
