AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing dishwashers do not provide a convenient way for users to temporarily stop the operation while the dishwasher is in use, as the pause button is often located on the upper surface of the door, which is inaccessible during operation due to the door's design.
Method used
A dishwasher with a manipulation unit that includes a first input unit with a light-emitting unit and a sensing unit, allowing users to pause the dishwasher by touching a designated area on the front panel, even when the door is closed.
Benefits of technology
Enables users to conveniently pause or resume the dishwasher's operation without opening the door, enhancing user safety and convenience by eliminating the need for a separate marker and improving the dishwasher's design aesthetics.

Abstract
Disclosed is a dishwasher having a door that opens and closes a washing space. The door comprises: an operation unit which receives an operation command from a use; and a first input unit mounted on the operation unit. The first input unit may comprise: a light-emitting unit which emits light toward the front of the door and guides the user to a touch position; a sensor unit which is disposed at a position spaced apart from the light-emitting unit and senses a command signal by the user; and a conductive member which is electrically connected to the sensing unit and transmits the command signal of the user to the sensing unit.
