Paintball carrying plate and apparatus for filling paintball pods

Abstract

A paintball carrying plate used for connecting to a paintball box for carrying and filling paintball pods. The paintball carrying plate includes slits for accommodating lid flaps of a paintball box therethrough, notches and rubber bands to hold the lid flaps in a folded position to thereby secure the paintball carrying plate to the top of the paintball box, a series of holes adapted to securely hold paintball pods therein during the carrying and filling process, a series of bore sizing holes, and handles for holding and carrying the combination of the paintball carrying plate, the paintball box, and the paintball pods. When in use, a plurality of paintball boxes with respective paintball carrying plates attached thereto can be stacked one on top of the other for increasing the ability to carry and fill large quantities of paintball pods therein and reduce the amount of paint wasted from spilling while carrying and filling the paintball pods.

[0003] This invention relates generally to paintball pods, and more specifically to apparatuses used for carrying and filling paintball pods.2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] Prior art methods and apparatuses for carrying and filling paintball pods by individuals or teams include secondary devices to carry and fill the paintball pods. In normal environments this is not a real issue but during tournaments, which is what this item main use would be, it would eliminate the need to carry at least three other separate pieces of equipment and allow one user the ability to fill 12 pods unassisted by another or without other equipment. Currently, the prior art uses multiple parts that are large and bulky. All paint in tournaments are sold in boxes, and currently people stack the pods in them sideways, but that only holds approximately 9 to 10 pods, and pod lids can get caught and release the paintballs. Further, the prior art is very bulky and have too many parts to be transported to an event without breaking or losing parts.

[0005] Accordingly, the present invention overcomes the disadvantages associated with the prior art, by providing a paintball carrying plate used for connecting to a paintball box for carrying and filling paintball pods and reducing the amount of paint wasted from spilling while carrying and filling the paintball pods.BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of methods and apparatuses for carrying and filling paintball pods, or the like, in the prior art, the present invention provides a paintball carrying plate used for connecting to a paintball box for carrying and filling paintball pods. As such, the general purpose of the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a paintball carrying plate used for connecting to a paintball box for carrying and filling paintball pods. The paintball carrying plate includes slits for accommodating lid flaps of a paintball box therethrough, notches and rubber bands to hold the lid flaps in a folded position to thereby secure the paintball carrying plate to the top of the paintball box, a series of holes adapted to securely hold paintball pods therein during the carrying and filling process, a series of bore sizing holes, and handles for holding and carrying the combination of the paintball carrying plate, the paintball box, and the paintball pods. When in use, a plurality of paintball boxes with respective paintball carrying plates attached thereto can be stacked one on top of the other for increasing the ability to carry and fill large quantities of paintball pods therein and reduce the amount of paint wasted from spilling while carrying and filling the paintball pods, with all the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.

[0021] In the preferred embodiment, there are twelve paintball pod apertures 140 having a diameter of 2.5 inches each, and the series of bore sizing apertures 190 may include 13 apertures having diameters ranging in succession from 0.679 mm through 0.691 mm.

[0022] When in use, the paintball carrying plate 100 is adapted such that the side lid flaps 270 and the edge lid flap 260 of the paintball box 200 are able to be placed through and within the respective two side lid flap apertures 150 and the edge lid flap aperture 160, folded over respective the two opposite side portions, and held in place by the attachment bands 400 placed respectively around the side lid flaps 270 of the paintball box 200, around the respective two opposite side portions 110, and within the respective pairs of spaced edge notches 180, such that the side lid flaps 270 are held in place in a folded position upon the opposite side portions 110, and as such the paintball box 200 is held in attachment to the paintball carrying plate 100. Further, when in use, the plurality of paintball pod apertures 140 are adapted to hold paintball pods 300 respectively therein, and which extend into the interior portion of the paintball box 200. And further, when in use, the two side handle apertures 170 are adapted to allow a user to carry and transport the paintball carrying plate 100 along with the attached paintball box 200 and the paintball pods 300. Once the paintball pods 300 are filled with paintball paint and the side lid flaps 270 are secured, the entire setup can be transported to its next location. The paintball carrying plate 100 will allow a user easier access to the paintball pods 300 and when it's no longer in use, the paintball box 200 can be removed and recycled while the paintball carrying plate 100 goes back to your gear and prepare again.

[0023] In the preferred embodiment, the two attachment bands 400 are formed as rubber bands, though other types of releasable attachment bands can be used. Furthermore, the paintball carrying plate 100 can be formed from wood, foam PVC, plastic, aluminum, or carbon fiber, and may be formed by methods including cutting on a water table, molded, or using 3-D printing.

Claims

1. A paintball carrying plate comprising:two opposite side portions;two opposite edge portions;a center portion;a plurality of paintball pod apertures;wherein said paintball pod apertures are located within said center section, and are sized and adapted to hold paintball pods respectively therein;two side lid flap apertures;wherein said two side lid flap apertures are elongated and located respectively within said two opposite side portions, and are sized and adapted to allow respective side lid flaps of a paintball box to pass therethrough;an edge lid flap aperture;wherein said edge lid flap aperture is elongated and located within one of said two opposite edge portions, and is sized and adapted to allow an edge lid flap of said paintball box to pass therethrough;two side handle apertures;wherein said two side handle apertures are elongated and located respectively within said two opposite side portions, and are sized and adapted to allow hands of a user to pass therethrough and grip said paintball carrying plate;two pairs of spaced edge notches;wherein said two pairs of spaced edge notches are located respectively within opposite edge portions of said two opposite side portions, and are sized and adapted to hold attachment bands therein and thereby thereon said two opposite side portions;wherein when in use, said paintball carrying plate is adapted such that side lid flaps and an edge lid flap of a paintball box are able to be placed through and within said respective two side lid flap apertures and said edge lid flap aperture, folded over respective said two opposite side portions, and held in place by attachment bands placed respectively around said side lid flaps of said paintball box, around said respective two opposite side portions, and within respective said pairs of spaced edge notches, such that said side lid flaps are held in place in a folded position upon said opposite side portions, and as such said paintball box is held in attachment to said paintball carrying plate;wherein when in use, said plurality of paintball pod apertures are adapted to hold paintball pods respectively therein, and which extend into an interior portion of said paintball box; andwherein when in use, said two side handle apertures are adapted to allow said user to carry and transport said paintball carrying plate along with said attached paintball box and said paintball pods.

The paintball carrying plate of claim 1, further comprising two attachment bands; wherein said two attachment bands are adapted to be placed respectively around said side lid flaps of said paintball box, around said respective two opposite side portions, and within respective said pairs of spaced edge notches, such that said side lid flaps are held in place in a folded position upon said opposite side portions, and as such said paintball box is held in attachment to said paintball carrying plate.

3. The paintball carrying plate of claim 2, wherein said two attachment bands are formed as rubber bands.

4. The paintball carrying plate of claim 1, further comprising a series of bore sizing apertures adapted to allow for fast paintball sizing.

5. The paintball carrying plate of claim 1, wherein said paintball carrying plate is formed from a material chosen from a list of materials consisting of wood, foam PVC, plastic, aluminum, and carbon fiber.

A combination of a paintball box, a plurality of paintball pods, and a paintball carrying plate, said combination comprising:a paintball box including:a front panel;a back panel;opposite side panels;a bottom panel;wherein said front panel, said back pane, said opposite side panels, and said bottom panel form a rectangular volume;a front edge lid flap;a back edge lid flap; andtwo opposite side lid flaps;a plurality of paintball pods, each including:an elongated cylindrical body;wherein said elongated cylindrical body forms an interior volume adapted to hold paintball paint therein; anda circular lip;wherein said circular lip is located at a top edge of said elongated cylindrical body, and is adapted to contact an edge portion of a respective paintball pod aperture, to thereby hold said paintball pod therein; anda paintball carrying plate comprising:two opposite side portions;two opposite edge portions;a center portion;a plurality of paintball pod apertures;wherein said paintball pod apertures are located within said center section, and are sized and adapted to hold paintball pods respectively therein;two side lid flap apertures;wherein said two side lid flap apertures are elongated and located respectively within said two opposite side portions, and are sized and adapted to allow respective said side lid flaps of a paintball box to pass therethrough;an edge lid flap aperture;wherein said edge lid flap aperture is elongated and located within one of said two opposite edge portions, and is sized and adapted to allow an edge lid flap of said paintball box to pass therethrough;two side handle apertures;wherein said two side handle apertures are elongated and located respectively within said two opposite side portions, and are sized and adapted to allow hands of a user to pass therethrough and grip said paintball carrying plate;two pairs of spaced edge notches;wherein said two pairs of spaced edge notches are located respectively within opposite edge portions of said two opposite side portions, and are sized and adapted to hold attachment bands therein and thereby thereon said two opposite side portions;wherein when in use, said paintball carrying plate is adapted such that side lid flaps and an edge lid flap of a paintball box are able to be placed through and within said respective two side lid flap apertures and said edge lid flap aperture, folded over respective said two opposite side portions, and held in place by attachment bands placed respectively around said side lid flaps of said paintball box, around said respective two opposite side portions, and within respective said pairs of spaced edge notches, such that said side lid flaps are held in place in a folded position upon said opposite side portions, and as such said paintball box is held in attachment to said paintball carrying plate;wherein when in use, said plurality of paintball pod apertures are adapted to hold paintball pods respectively therein, and which extend into an interior portion of said paintball box; andwherein when in use, said two side handle apertures are adapted to allow said user to carry and transport said paintball carrying plate along with said attached paintball box and said paintball pods.

The combination of claim 6, further comprising two attachment bands; wherein said two attachment bands are adapted to be placed respectively around said side lid flaps of said paintball box, around said respective two opposite side portions, and within respective said pairs of spaced edge notches, such that said side lid flaps are held in place in a folded position upon said opposite side portions, and as such said paintball box is held in attachment to said paintball carrying plate.

8. The combination of claim 7, wherein said two attachment bands are formed as rubber bands.

9. The combination of claim 6, further comprising a series of bore sizing apertures adapted to allow for fast paintball sizing.

10. The combination of claim 6, wherein said paintball carrying plate is formed from a material chosen from a list of materials consisting of wood, foam PVC, plastic, aluminum, and carbon fiber.
