An automatically ejecting magazine device includes an ammunition magazine which is substantially hollow for receiving ammunition for a firearm. A follower is movably disposed within the ammunition magazine to support ammunition for the firearm and a magnet is attached to the follower. A door is hingedly attached to the ammunition magazine and the door has a recess which is engaged by a magazine release of the firearm to retain the ammunition magazine in the firearm. The magnet urges the door into a disengaged position such that the recess is not accessible to the magazine release. In this way the ammunition magazine can drop out of the firearm when the last round of ammunition is fed into the firearm.

A novel spring and follower design for a firearm magazine that produce a reduced height when the magazine is fully loaded. The preferred embodiments of the magazine spring include a triple-nested bottom three coils, followed by an alternating succession of double-nested pairs of coils. The bottom three coils and the alternating pairs are configured to remain within a double stack portion of the magazine. The magazine spring also includes a transition portion—comprising elongated coils—configured to extend into the upper portion of the magazine when the magazine is nearly empty. The magazine has a plurality blades radially extending from a central axis and defining a like plurality of compartments in an axially rotatable ring. The ring rests upon a stationary deck plate having a hole for gravity feed of the projectile into the launch assembly below. Projectiles having different fight characteristics are deposited into the compartments at a safe location, supported by the deck plate and the launch assembly with an associated device are transported to a hostile environment. A first projectile is launched by the launch assembly in a longitudinal direction. The launch assembly is retracted, automatically indexing the rotatable ring and dropping the next projectile through the hole and into the launch assembly for subsequent launch.

The high-pressure air drum magazine has a high-pressure chamber within an outer housing and an air regulator configured to selectively pass air from the high-pressure chamber to the air connector plate. When the bolt carrier impacts the plunger, a burst of air may be released from the air connector plate into the charge chamber.

A firearm comprises a frame which detachably receives a magazine, trigger, and a reciprocating slide moveable between a forward position and rearward removal position. A pivotable takedown lever is selectively engageable with the slide between blocking and non-blocking positions. A magazine disconnect member movably responsive to inserting the magazine into or removing the magazine from the firearm is alterable between a rearward locked position which prevents movement of the trigger to disable the firing mechanism, and a forward unlocked position which allows movement of the trigger and concurrently engages the takedown lever to prevent the takedown lever from leaving the blocking position associated with the ready-to-fire condition of the firearm. The slide is removable from the firearm when the takedown lever is in the non-blocking position. Engagement between the magazine disconnect member and takedown lever prevents full insertion of the magazine if the lever is left in the non-blocking position.

The magazine extension includes a baseplate structured to receive a lower open end of a magazine, the baseplate having a laterally extending through-bore; a side bracket structured to couple to the baseplate for securing the magazine, the side bracket having a laterally extending through-bore; and a locking pin insertable within both the through-bore of the baseplate and the through-bore of the side bracket to lock the side bracket to the baseplate.
