Single panel color video projection display using reflective banded color falling-raster illumination

A projection display system. The projection system includes a light source, illumination optics that are capable of splitting the light from the source into individual color bands, and folding mirrors. The folding mirrors operate to direct the color bands to a reflective element that has a contoured surface. The contoured surface of the reflective element causes the light to form into scanning rasters that are recombined and sent to a spatial light modulator. The spatial light modulator is typically made up of a panel of individually addressable elements. If the spatial light modulator requires polarized light, a polarizing beam splitter and quarter-wave plate are included as part of the illumination optics.

Four parts manhole enabling an easy install and height adjustment

A manhole comprised of four parts is provided. The manhole is comprised of an outer-manhole pipe, an inner-manhole pipe, a manhole cover, and a support pipe. Pluralities of concave arc band shape blades are horizontally developed along the inner surface of the outer manhole pipe. Same number of convex arc band shape blades is horizontally developed along the outer surface of the inner manhole pipe. The inner-manhole pipe is inserted into the outer-manhole pipe vertically when the two kinds of arc shape blades aligned to make pass way for each other. When a desired height is reached, workers rotate the inner-manhole pipe 60 degrees horizontally and put down the inner-manhole pipe. Then the two kinds of blades are overlapped and fix the height of the manhole cover. A support pipe, comprised of two pieces of equal hemi-pipe connected one end, is engaged between the top flange of the inner-manhole pipe and top end of the outer manhole pipe to hold and support the distance between them.

Strained silicon on insulator from film transfer and relaxation by hydrogen implantation

Transistors fabricated on SSOI (Strained Silicon On Insulator) substrate, which comprises a strained silicon layer disposed directly on an insulator layer, have enhanced device performance due to the strain-induced band modification of the strained silicon device channel and the limited silicon volume because of the insulator layer. The present invention discloses a SSOI substrate fabrication process comprising various novel approaches. One is the use of a thin relaxed SiGe layer as the strain-induced seed layer to facilitate integration and reduce processing cost. Another is the formation of split implant microcracks deep in the silicon substrate to reduce the number of threading dislocations reaching the strained silicon layer. And lastly is the two step annealing / thinning process for the strained silicon / SiGe multilayer film transfer without blister or flaking formation.

Methods and apparatus for antenna control in a wireless terminal

Base stations transmit strip signals using strip signal segments and self supporting modulation scheme techniques facilitating rapid channel estimate. A strip segment occupies one OFDM symbol time interval and uses a set of downlink tones; some, e.g., half, of the tones are left unused facilitating SIR measurement. The strip segments are advantageously timed to correspond to uplink access intervals in which connected wireless terminals do not typically transmit uplink signals. Connected wireless terminals including: multiple antennas used in combination, an antenna duplex module, single RF receiver chain and single RF transmitter chain, switch antenna coefficient combinations based on strip signal segment timing. The wireless terminal determines an independent downlink channel quality measurement, e.g., SNR and / or SIR for each strip signal segment and for on-going non-strip signaling. The wireless terminal compares channel quality measurements and selects an antenna coefficient combination to be used during non-strip signaling intervals obtaining very good antenna gain.
