The method comprises the steps that leaked refrigerant gas to be detected is collected; an infrared light source is controlled to emit infrared light, and the infrared light passes through the leaked refrigerant gas and then enters a double-channel optical filter; obtaining first infrared light which is filtered by the dual-channel optical filter, is used for detecting the type of the refrigerant gas and has a first wavelength, and second infrared light which is used for eliminating environmental influence and has a second wavelength; calculating a carbon-hydrogen bond equivalent concentration matching value of the leaked refrigerant gas according to the first infrared light and the second infrared light; the heat conductivity of the leaked refrigerant gas is obtained; calculating a heat conductivity matching value of the leaked refrigerant gas according to the heat conductivity and the standard heat conductivity of the standard refrigerant gas; and determining the gas type of the leaked refrigerant gas according to the carbon-hydrogen bond equivalent concentration matching value and the thermal conductivity matching value.
