Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention is directed to a portable garden waste bag.
[0002] Garden waste bags are well known and commonly used. They often have a volume of between 50 and 500 liters and usually have two carrying handles so that they can be carried by hand, for example, from one place in the garden to a larger collection point, such as a container or a composter. Both carrying and transporting garden waste bags within the garden and transporting them to the collection point are often laborious tasks.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The problem to be solved by the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
[0004] The features disclosed herein solve the problem. Advantageous designs are also described herein and in the subclaims.
[0005] The portable garden waste bag (hereinafter referred to as “garden waste bag”) comprises two shoulder straps. In contrast to known garden waste bags, the garden waste bag according to the present invention can thus be carried like a backpack. The shoulder straps are attached to the garden waste bag in the same way as is known from backpacks. The garden waste bag is thus preferably designed as a garden waste backpack.
[0006] Alternatively or in addition to the shoulder straps, the portable garden waste bag may include at least one hip belt.
[0007] The shoulder straps can be adjustable in length. Preferably, each of the two shoulder straps comprises at least one length adjustment device for this purpose. Length-adjustable shoulder straps can be adapted to people of different heights.
[0008] If present, the at least one hip belt is also preferably length-adjustable and preferably includes a length adjustment device accordingly.
[0009] Both the shoulder straps and the at least one hip belt, if present, are preferably padded.
[0010] All embodiments of the garden waste bag that are equipped with shoulder straps may comprise a chest strap within the scope of the present invention. Chest straps are known from hiking backpacks and the like and connect the shoulder straps at the level of the wearer's sternum.
[0011] The garden waste bag may comprise at least one, preferably at least two carrying handles. These allow the garden waste bag to be carried over short distances, for example, without having to be slung over the shoulder. Shouldering, i.e., carrying the garden waste bag on the back with the help of the shoulder straps, can then preferably be done for transport or carrying over longer distances.
[0012] The garden waste bag comprises at least one compartment for garden waste, in particular for leaves, sticks, and the like. The garden waste bag may comprise exactly one compartment. It may be envisaged that the garden waste bag consists essentially or exclusively of the compartment with shoulder straps (optionally adjustable in length) attached to it. In addition, the garden waste bag may comprise one or more of the following elements: a back pad, carrying handles, a lid.
[0013] The compartment is preferably bounded by a wall surrounding the compartment, which usually comprises a surrounding side wall and a bottom section.
[0014] The wall may be made of polypropylene or another synthetic fiber-based fabric. Alternatively, the wall may also be made of a fabric based on natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or the like. Instead of fabrics, knitted fabrics or other flat structures may also be used. Further alternatives, such as non-woven fabrics or the like, are conceivable.
[0015] The garden waste bag may, preferably opposite the aforementioned bottom section, comprise a lid that closes the compartment. This lid may, for example, be reversibly closable by means of a zipper. Preferably, the garden waste bag comprises exactly one lid. However, one or more lids or, for example, a two-part lid or the like may also be envisaged.
[0016] The garden waste bag may comprise at least one shaping reinforcement element. For example, springy metal wires or the like may be envisaged, which cause the garden waste bag to assume the desired shape even when empty. Such wires or the like may be connected to the compartment in a spiral shape; alternative arrangements are conceivable. With the aid of springy shaping reinforcement elements, the garden waste bag can additionally be given a functionality often referred to as a “pop-up” function.
[0017] The shaping reinforcement elements can also serve solely to keep the garden waste bag in shape without the need for a pop-up function. The compartment can be permanently provided in the shape and size required for daily use by such shaping reinforcement elements.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0018] Further advantages, features, and details of the invention are apparent from the following description of preferred embodiments.
[0019] FIG. 1 shows a rectangular garden waste bag 10.
[0020] FIG. 2 shows a cylindrical garden waste bag 11.DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0021] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the function of the garden waste bags 10, 11 is explained as follows:
[0022] The respective walls 6, 7 delimit the compartment, which can also be closed reversibly by the lid 5.
[0023] For transport over short distances, the garden waste bags 10, 11 can be lifted and carried by hand using the carrying handles 2.
[0024] For transport over longer distances in particular, the garden waste bags 10, 11 can be slung over the shoulder using the shoulder straps 3 and thus carried on the back, which makes transport easy and effortless.
[0025] The shoulder straps 3 can be adjusted to the size of the user who wants to carry the respective garden waste bag 10, 11 using the length adjustment devices 4.
[0026] The back padding 1 provides additional comfort when carrying on the back. The rectangular garden waste bag 10 can also include back padding. Accordingly, the back padding can be omitted in an embodiment of the cylindrical garden waste bag 11.
[0027] Although only two preferred embodiments of the invention have been described and illustrated, it is obvious that the skilled person can make numerous modifications without departing from the essence and scope of the invention.
[0028] For example, it may be considered to dispense with the length adjustment devices 4.
[0029] Furthermore, it may be considered to use more or fewer carrying handles 2 than shown in the embodiments. These carrying handles 2 may be designed differently than shown in the figures.
[0030] Furthermore, all embodiments can be designed with or without back padding 1.
[0031] In addition to rectangular and cylindrical garden waste bags 10, 11, other design variants may be considered within the scope of the present invention.
[0032] Furthermore, embodiments of the garden waste bag with and without a lid 5 can be envisaged.
[0033] Contrary to the figures, the portable garden waste bag may alternatively or additionally to the shoulder straps comprise at least one hip belt.REFERENCE NUMERALS1Back padding2Carrying handle3Shoulder strap4Length adjustment device5Lid6Wall of the compartment (the rectangular garden waste bag)7Wall of the compartment (cylindrical garden waste bag)8910Cuboid garden waste bag11Cylindrical garden waste bag12131415161718192021222324252627282930313233
