Battery fixing device, battery capacity division method, battery and electronic equipment
[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of China on April 28, 2023, with application number 202310488268.3 and application name “Battery Fixing Device, Battery Capacity Formation Method, Battery and Electronic Device”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field
[0003] The present application relates to the field of battery technology, and in particular to a battery fixing device, a battery capacity division method, a battery, and an electronic device. Background Art
[0004] Lithium-ion batteries are widely used in energy storage base stations, electric vehicles, and consumer electronics due to their high specific energy, long service life, lack of memory effect, low self-discharge rate, and environmental friendliness. Lithium-ion batteries are used as new energy batteries for electric vehicles, providing power for them.
[0005] Common lithium-ion battery casings include aluminum, steel, or plastic, with varying shapes. The lithium-ion battery manufacturing process includes key processes such as homogenization, coating, rolling, slitting, assembly, formation, and capacity separation. The formation and capacity separation processes are crucial in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, primarily activating the battery and conducting capacity testing.
[0006] Taking prismatic aluminum-cased lithium-ion batteries as an example, they expand during the formation and capacity separation process, which can easily lead to poor contact between the battery cell electrodes. To prevent battery cell expansion and deformation, one current solution is to use a restraint fixture tray. During the formation and capacity separation process, the prismatic aluminum-cased lithium-ion battery is fixed to the restraint fixture tray, and then the prismatic aluminum-cased lithium-ion battery is subjected to formation and other processes. However, most restraint fixture trays are designed for battery cells of specific sizes and have poor compatibility with battery cells of different sizes or types.
[0007] Summary of the Invention
[0008] The present application provides a battery fixing device, a battery capacity division method, a battery and an electronic device, so that the battery fixing device can be compatible with hard-shell batteries of different models and sizes, thereby improving compatibility.
[0009] In a first aspect, the present application provides a battery fixing device. The battery fixing device may include a shell. The shell includes a plurality of battery slots. Specifically, each battery slot may be provided with at least one boss. The at least one boss can be used to fix the battery inserted into the battery slot. The inner wall surface of the battery slot is provided with a plurality of mounting positions, and the boss can be detachably connected to any mounting position. The battery fixing device can be applied in the manufacturing process of the battery. Specifically, batteries of different sizes or different models have cells of different sizes. According to the size of the battery inserted into the battery slot, the boss is installed at the corresponding mounting position to fix the battery, so that the battery fixing device can fix hard-shell batteries of different models and sizes, thereby improving the compatibility of the battery fixing device. In addition, the boss is detachably connected to the inner wall surface, which can realize the adjustment of the boss position on the one hand, and facilitate the installation, disassembly and maintenance of the battery slot on the other hand.
[0010] In this application, the detachable connection method between the boss and the inner wall surface is not limited, and can be, for example, threaded connection, clip connection, riveting, or bonding. Specifically, in some technical solutions, the inner wall surface of the battery slot may be provided with multiple sockets, and the boss may be provided with a corresponding locking member. In this technical solution, the locking member can be received in any of the sockets and locked, thereby locking the boss at a predetermined position on the inner wall surface.
[0011] Of course, in other technical solutions, the inner wall surface may be provided with a slide groove, and the boss may be provided with a corresponding locking member. The locking member is accommodated in the slide groove and can slide along the slide groove and lock at any position within the slide groove. In this technical solution, the locking member can be installed at any position within the slide groove, and the adjustment method is simple and easy to operate.
[0012] When the locking member is specifically provided, the locking member may be a protrusion, a bolt, a pin, etc., which is not limited here.
[0013] In the technical solution of this application, the housing has a storage space, within which a plurality of partitions are disposed. These partitions can divide the storage space into the aforementioned plurality of battery slots. At least one side surface of the partitions may be provided with a boss. In other words, the boss may be provided on one side of the partition, or on both sides of the partition.
[0014] In a specific technical solution, the plurality of partitions may include a plurality of first partitions arranged in parallel and a plurality of second partitions arranged in parallel. The plurality of first partitions intersect and are arranged perpendicularly to the plurality of second partitions. In this technical solution, first bosses may be provided on both sides of the first partitions, second bosses may be provided on both sides of the second partitions, and third bosses may be provided on the inner wall of the housing. In other words, the inner walls of the battery slots are all provided with bosses.
[0015] In the technical solution of the present application, the boss may include at least two boss portions, and the at least two boss portions may be distributed in an array on the inner wall surface of the battery slot.
[0016] The surface of the protrusion facing the battery can be flat or curved. For example, when the battery inserted into the battery slot is square or diamond-shaped, the surface of the protrusion can be flat; when the battery is cylindrical, the surface of the protrusion can be curved. This ensures that the outer surface of the battery fits snugly in the battery slot, thereby improving the battery securing function of the battery securing device.
[0017] In the present application, the shape of the surface of the boss facing the battery includes polygonal, circular or elliptical, and is not specifically limited here.
[0018] The side surface of the above-mentioned boss facing the battery has a length L along the second direction and a width W along the third direction. The second direction is perpendicular to the third direction, and the plane formed by the second direction and the third direction is parallel to the inner wall surface where the boss is located. Wherein: L≤D1-10mm, and W≤D2-10mm. D1 is the size of the side surface of the battery facing the boss along the second direction, and D2 is the size of the side surface of the battery facing the boss along the third direction. In addition, the thickness of the boss in the direction perpendicular to the inner wall surface is T, and 0 <T≤20mm。
[0019] In the above battery fixing device, according to the size of the battery, the length L can be set to satisfy: 100 mm ≤ L ≤ 1500 mm; the width W can be set to satisfy: 80 mm ≤ W ≤ 300 mm.
[0020] In order to achieve maximum fixation of the battery cell, the area of the side surface of the boss facing the battery can be equal to the area of the side surface of the battery cell facing the boss, and the boss is used to align with the battery cell.
[0021] In a second aspect, the present application also provides a battery capacity division method. The method utilizes the battery fixing device of the first aspect to fix the battery. Specifically, the method includes:
[0022] Insert the battery into the battery slot of the battery holder;
[0023] Charge the battery to full capacity;
[0024] Discharge a fully charged battery.
[0025] The battery capacity splitting method of the present application uses the above-mentioned battery fixing device to fix the battery. According to the specific model and size of the battery inserted into the battery slot, the different installation positions of the boss on the inner wall surface can be adjusted, so that the battery fixing device can be compatible with hard-shell batteries of different models and sizes, and then batteries of different sizes can be split into batteries at the same time, thereby improving the efficiency of battery capacity splitting.
[0026] In a third aspect, the present application further provides a battery. This battery is prepared using the battery capacity splitting method described in the second aspect. During the battery capacity splitting method, a battery securing device can be used to secure the battery. During the capacity splitting process, the battery is inserted into the battery securing device, and the battery securing device can adjust the position of the boss within the battery slot according to the specific dimensions of the battery to secure the battery.
[0027] In a fourth aspect, the present application further provides an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a housing, an electronic device, and the battery of the third aspect. The electronic device and the battery are disposed within the housing, and the battery is connected to the electronic device and is used to power the electronic device. [0043] In order to make the purpose, technical solutions and advantages of this application clearer, this application will be further described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0044] It should be noted that the terms used in the following embodiments are only for the purpose of describing specific embodiments and are not intended to limit the present application. As used in the specification and claims of this application, the singular expressions "a," "an," "said," "above," "the," and "this" are intended to include expressions such as "one or more," unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
[0045] References to "one embodiment" or "some embodiments" in this specification mean that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in conjunction with that embodiment is included in one or more embodiments of the present application. Thus, phrases such as "in one embodiment," "in some embodiments," "in other embodiments," and "in yet other embodiments" appearing in various places in this specification do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment, but rather mean "one or more but not all embodiments," unless otherwise specifically emphasized. The terms "including," "comprising," "having," and variations thereof mean "including but not limited to," unless otherwise specifically emphasized.
[0046] During the lithium battery manufacturing process, after assembly, the batteries need to be formed and capacity sorted. Formation is the initial charging of a lithium battery to activate the active materials within it. During the formation process, a passivation film, known as the solid electrolyte interface (SEI) film, forms on the negative electrode of the lithium battery. Lithium ions can then penetrate the SEI film and embed into the negative electrode particles. During both the SEI film formation and the lithium ion embedding process, the negative electrode expands. The formation of the SEI film is accompanied by gas generation, which causes the volume of the lithium battery to expand and can lead to poor contact between the electrode surfaces of the battery cell. After formation, lithium batteries can be capacity sorted, also known as capacity sorting. Capacity sorting involves fully charging the lithium battery according to specifications and then discharging it to select qualified batteries. The time required to fully discharge the battery multiplied by the discharge current is the capacity of the lithium battery. During the charge and discharge process, the lithium battery cells also expand. Therefore, to prevent this expansion, one method is to use a restraint fixture tray to restrain the lithium battery cells. However, lithium batteries come in different sizes to suit different application scenarios. Therefore, when manufacturing lithium batteries of different sizes, the restraint fixture tray is not compatible, requiring workers to replace and adjust the restraint fixture tray components, resulting in a large workload and high replacement costs.
[0047] Therefore, the present application provides a battery fixing device, a battery capacity division method, a battery and an electronic device, so that the battery fixing device can be compatible with hard-shell batteries of different models and sizes, thereby improving the compatibility of the battery fixing device.
[0048] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of one structure of a battery securing device according to an embodiment of the present application, and Figure 2 is a schematic diagram of another structure of a battery securing device according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the battery securing device 10 includes a housing 11. The housing 11 includes a plurality of battery slots 12. These battery slots 12 can be arranged along a first direction A and arranged in at least one row. A row refers to a row of battery slots 12 extending in a direction perpendicular to the first direction A. That is, as shown in Figure 1, the plurality of battery slots 12 can be arranged as a single row of battery slots 12 along the first direction A; alternatively, as shown in Figure 2, the plurality of battery slots 12 can be arranged as multiple rows of battery slots 12 along the first direction A, for example, two rows of battery slots 12 along the second direction B. Of course, the plurality of battery slots 12 can also be arranged in an irregular layout, which is not illustrated here. The housing 11 can specifically include a bottom wall (not shown in Figures 1 and 2) and side walls 112. The side walls 112 are disposed around the bottom wall and, together with the bottom wall, form a housing space within which the battery slots 12 are disposed. Figure 3 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a battery slot in an embodiment of the present application, and Figure 4 is a schematic diagram of a cross-section of the battery slot in Figure 3 along the EE direction. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, each battery slot 12 is provided with at least one boss 121. Boss 121 is used to secure the battery inserted into the corresponding battery slot 12, thereby securing and pressurizing the battery cells within the battery during the manufacturing process. The inner wall surface of the battery slot 12 is provided with multiple mounting locations, and boss 121 can be removably connected to any mounting location.
[0049] In practical applications, batteries of different sizes or models may have cells of different sizes. Therefore, when the battery fixture of the present application is used in battery manufacturing, the mounting position of the at least one boss 121 on the inner wall surface can be adjusted according to the specific model and size of the battery inserted into the battery slot, so that the at least one boss 121 corresponds to the battery inserted into the battery slot 12, thereby achieving the fixation of the battery, thereby making the battery fixture 10 compatible with hard-shell batteries of different models and sizes.
[0050] In the present application, the method of detachable connection between the boss and the inner wall surface is not limited, and may be, for example, threaded connection, snap connection, riveting, or bonding. Figure 5 is a schematic structural diagram of a battery slot in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 5, in some specific embodiments, the inner wall surface of the battery slot 12 may be provided with a socket 122. The boss 121 is provided with a locking member 1211. The locking member 1211 can be accommodated in the socket 122 and locked in a set position, thereby locking the boss 121 at the set position on the inner wall surface. Of course, in other embodiments, the inner wall surface may also be provided with a slide groove, and the boss 121 may be provided with the locking member 1211. The sliding of the locking member 1211 within the slide groove enables the boss 121 to move on the inner wall surface of the battery slot 12. In the above embodiments, the locking member 1211 may specifically be a protrusion, a bolt, or a pin, and no specific limitation is given here. In addition, a slide groove extending in one direction may be provided within the inner wall surface. Taking the side wall 112 of the battery slot 12 as an example, the side wall 112 may be provided with a first slot extending parallel to the bottom wall 111, and the locking member 1211 may be set along the first slot and at any position within the first slot, allowing the boss 121 to move parallel to the bottom wall 111 to a predetermined position on the inner wall surface. Alternatively, the inner wall surface may be provided with a second slot extending perpendicular to the bottom wall 111, and the locking member 1211 may be set along the second slot and at any position within the second slot, allowing the boss 121 to move perpendicular to the bottom wall 111 to a predetermined position on the inner wall surface. Of course, slots extending in different directions may also be provided on the inner wall surface. For example, the inner wall surface may be provided with a first slot extending parallel to the bottom wall 111 and a second slot extending perpendicular to the bottom wall 111. The locking member 1211 may slide along the first and second slots, allowing the boss 121 to move to any position on the inner wall surface.
[0051] As shown in FIG2 , the housing 11 has a storage space, which may be provided with a plurality of partitions 113. These partitions 113 can divide the storage space into a plurality of battery slots 12. Specifically, the plurality of partitions 113 may include a plurality of first partitions 113a arranged in parallel and a plurality of second partitions 113b arranged in parallel, wherein the plurality of first partitions 113a and the plurality of second partitions 113b intersect and are arranged perpendicularly.
[0052] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, within the battery slot 12, the boss 121 may also be provided on the bottom wall 111 or the side wall 112 of the shell 11. In other words, the boss 121 may be provided on the partition 113. When the boss 121 is provided on the partition 113, at least one side surface of the partition 113 may be provided with the boss 121. As shown in Figure 4, one side surface of the partition 113 is provided with the boss 121. Figure 6 is a schematic diagram of the structure of the partition in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 6, both side surfaces of the partition 113 may be provided with the boss 121.
[0053] In one specific embodiment, first bosses are provided on both sides of the first partition 113a, and second bosses are provided on both sides of the second partition 113b. Third bosses are provided on the bottom wall 111 and side walls 112 of the housing 11. In other words, bosses 121 are provided on the inner walls of the battery slot 12.
[0054] As shown in Figures 7, 8, and 9, in an embodiment of the present application, the boss 121 may include at least two boss portions 1212, which may be arranged in an array on the inner wall surface of the battery slot 12. Figure 7 is a schematic diagram of one embodiment of the boss structure of the present application. As shown in Figure 7, in a specific embodiment, the boss 121 may include three boss portions 1212 arranged along a third direction C. Figure 8 is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of the boss structure of the present application. As shown in Figure 8, the boss 121 may include two boss portions 1212 arranged along a second direction B. Figure 9 is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of the boss structure of the present application. As shown in Figure 9, the boss 121 may include multiple boss portions 1212, which may be arranged in an array on the inner wall surface of the battery slot 12, for example, two rows and two columns as shown in Figure 9. In the above embodiment, the surface of the boss 121 facing the battery may be a flat surface, and the shape of the flat surface may include polygonal, circular, or irregular. In practical applications, the battery housing may have a cylindrical or irregular shape in addition to a square shape. Correspondingly, the surface of the boss 121 facing the battery can be an arc-shaped surface. In addition, in the embodiment of the present application, the cross-section of the battery slot 12 along the second direction B can be polygonal (such as rectangular, diamond, triangle, trapezoid, hexagonal or octagonal, etc.), circular or elliptical.
[0055] Figure 10 is a schematic diagram of another structure of the boss in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 10, the surface of the boss 121 facing the battery can be an arcuate surface. Specifically, the boss 121 can be cylindrical. When a cylindrical battery is inserted into the battery slot 12, the arcuate inner surface of the boss 121 contacts the outer surface of the cylindrical battery. Figure 11 is a schematic diagram of another structure of the boss in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 11, the boss 121 in the above embodiment can also include multiple annular boss portions arranged along the third direction C. Figure 12 is a schematic diagram of another structure of the boss in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 12, the boss 121 can specifically include multiple boss portions 1212 arranged along the circumference of the battery slot 12. In this embodiment, the boss portions 1212 are specifically fan-shaped elongated bosses. Figure 13 is a schematic diagram of another structure of the boss in an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 13, the boss 121 can specifically include multiple boss portions 1212 distributed in an array along the circumference of the battery slot 12. In this embodiment, the boss 121 is specifically shaped as a fan-shaped boss block.
[0056] As shown in FIG. 5, taking the boss 121 of the partition 113 as an example, in the embodiments of the present application, the surface of the boss 121 facing the battery has a length L along the second direction B and a width W along the third direction C. The second direction B is perpendicular to the third direction C, and the plane formed by the second direction B and the third direction C is parallel to the inner wall surface where the boss 121 is located. The surface of the battery facing the boss 121 has a first dimension D1 along the second direction B and a second dimension D2 along the third direction C. Since the winding core area of the battery cell is usually smaller than the area of the battery case, and the battery cell is located within 10 mm from the inner top and inner side of the battery case respectively. Therefore, the length L and the width W can respectively satisfy: L ≤ D1 - 10 mm, W ≤ D2 - 10 mm. The thickness of the boss 121 in the direction perpendicular to the inner wall surface is T, and 0 < T ≤ 20 mm. Therefore, according to the specific dimensions of the battery, the boss 121 can select corresponding dimension designs within the above range, so that during the charge and discharge process of the cell during formation and conditioning, when the electrode sheet expands, it can prevent the winding core of the cell from wrinkling and deforming, and at the same time, the electrode sheets are more closely adhered to each other, thereby preventing problems such as lithium deposition, black spots, and purple spots. In addition, since the battery fixing device 10 of the present application can be compatible with batteries of different models and sizes, therefore, the length L of the boss 121 can satisfy: 100 mm ≤ L ≤ 1500 mm; and the width W can satisfy: 80 mm ≤ W ≤ 300 mm.
[0057] In order to achieve the maximum fixation of the cell, the boss 121 is aligned with the cell, and the area of the surface of the boss 121 facing the case can be equal to the area of the surface of the cell facing the boss 121, so as to improve the interface performance of the cell, achieve stable electrode sheet interface and eliminate problems such as wrinkles, black spots, and lithium deposition, and further improve the electrical performance of the cell.
[0058] FIG. 14 is a schematic flow chart of the battery formation and conditioning method in the embodiments of the present application. As shown in FIG. 14, the present application also provides a battery formation and conditioning method, which can use the battery fixing device 10 of any of the above embodiments to fix the battery. Specifically, the battery formation and conditioning method includes:
[0059] Step S1401, insert the battery into the battery slot of the battery fixing device.
[0060] In step S1401, according to the specific model and size of the inserted battery, the positions of the bosses of each battery slot on the inner wall surface can be adjusted, so as to simultaneously perform formation and conditioning on multiple batteries of different models and different sizes.
[0061] Step S1402, charge the battery to a full charge state.
[0062] Step S1403, discharge the battery in the full charge state.
[0063] Through the charge and discharge in steps S1402 and S1403 , the batteries can be activated and the capacity tested to screen out batteries that meet the requirements.
[0064] The above-mentioned battery capacity splitting method uses the battery fixing device 10 of the present application to fix the battery. According to the specific model and size of the battery inserted into the battery slot 12, the different installation positions of the boss 121 can be adjusted, so that the battery slot 12 can be compatible with hard-shell batteries of different models and sizes, and then batteries of different sizes can be split into batteries at the same time, thereby improving the efficiency of battery capacity splitting.
[0065] Based on the same technical concept, the present application also provides a battery. This battery is manufactured using the battery capacity splitting method of the present application. Specifically, during the capacity splitting process, the battery is inserted into a battery fixture 10, and the battery fixture 10 can adjust the mounting position of the boss 121 in the battery slot 12 according to the specific size of the battery to secure the battery. Therefore, the present application can use the same capacity splitting manufacturing process to obtain batteries of different sizes, thereby improving battery manufacturing efficiency.
[0066] Based on the same technical concept, the present application also provides an electronic device. The electronic device includes a housing, an electronic device, and the above-mentioned battery, wherein the electronic device and the battery are arranged in the housing, and the battery is connected to the electronic device and is used to supply power to the electronic device. Specifically, the electronic device may include batteries of different models and / or different sizes. For example, in a specific embodiment, the electronic device may include multiple batteries, and the sizes of these batteries may be different. When making these batteries, the above-mentioned batteries can be inserted into the multiple battery slots 12 of the battery fixing device 10, and according to the sizes of these batteries, the position of the boss 121 in the battery slot 12 is adjusted, so as to obtain batteries of different sizes in the same production process, thereby improving the production efficiency of the electronic device.
[0067] The terms used in the above embodiments are only for the purpose of describing specific embodiments and are not intended to limit the present application. As used in the specification and appended claims of this application, the singular expressions "a", "an", "said", "above", "the", and "this" are intended to also include expressions such as "one or more", unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
[0068] The above are only specific embodiments of the present application, but the scope of protection of this application is not limited thereto. Any changes or substitutions that can be easily conceived by a person skilled in the art within the technical scope disclosed in this application should be included in the scope of protection of this application. Therefore, the scope of protection of this application should be based on the scope of protection of the claims.
