Description

[0001] Description

[0002] Photovoltaic thermal module and solar system

[0003] A photovoltaic thermal module is specified.

[0004] A solar system is also specified, in particular a solar system with such a photovoltaic thermal module.

[0005] The publication WO 2015 / 184402 Al relates to a photovoltaic module with an integrated liquid cooling system.

[0006] It is desirable to specify a photovoltaic thermal module that can be reliably manufactured and operated. It is also desirable to specify a solar system that enables reliable operation.

[0007] Embodiments of the disclosure relate to a photovoltaic-thermal module. Further embodiments of the disclosure relate to a solar system, in particular a solar system with a photovoltaic-thermal module described here.

[0008] According to at least one embodiment, the photovoltaic thermal module, or PVT module for short, has a solar cell layer. The solar cell layer has a large number of solar cells. The solar cells are based, for example, on silicon and / or germanium and / or a compound semiconductor material such as CdTe or CuInGaS, or GIGS for short, or CuInS, or CIS for short. The solar cells can also be based on perovskite or at least one organic, photoactive material. In thin-film modules, the photoactive layers are present, for example, in strips. It is possible for several different types of solar cells or semiconductor materials to be combined in the PVT module in order to achieve greater efficiency. For example, the individual, for example crystalline, solar cells have an average cross-section or diameter of at least 5 cm or at least 10 cm and / or at most 50 cm.

[0009] The PVT module has one or more surface heat sinks. The preferably precisely one surface heat sink can also be referred to as a cooling plate or a rear cooler. The surface heat sink is based, for example, on at least one inorganic material, such as glass or a metal, in particular aluminum. In particular, at least 80% by weight, or at least 90% by weight, or at least 98% by weight of the surface heat sink is formed by the at least one inorganic material.

[0010] The heat sink has a multitude of cooling channels. The cooling channels are designed to allow a cooling fluid to flow through them.

[0011] The heat sink extends continuously over the relevant solar cells or parts of the solar cell. For example, all solar cells of the PVT module are coupled to a single, common heat sink.

[0012] The heat sink has at least two plates between which the cooling channels are formed. This makes it possible for the heat sink to be a closed, sealed system through which the cooling fluid can flow without additional components. In particular, the cooling channels are completely defined by the plates, optionally together with a connecting means between the plates and / or for holding the plates together.

[0013] The heat sink plates are each formed from metal plates, for example, aluminum plates. Alternatively, the heat sink plates are formed from glass plates, so that the surface heat sink can be translucent. It is also possible to form the plates from plastic and / or foil.

[0014] A first of the plates, facing the solar cells, is flat. The first plate has a first main surface facing the solar cell layer.

[0015] The cooling channels are defined by a second plate, facing away from the solar cells. The cooling channels can therefore be formed in the second plate.

[0016] The PVT module has an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is arranged between the first plate and the solar cell layer. The adhesive layer is designed to attach the heat sink and the solar cell layer to one another. The heat sink is attached to the solar cell layer by means of the adhesive layer.

[0017] The adhesive layer extends only over an adhesive zone of the main surface. A space outside the adhesive zone is free of the adhesive layer.

[0018] The adhesive layer is only arranged in the adhesive region. Outside the adhesive region in the spacing region no adhesive layer is arranged. In the spacing region the main surface of the flat heat sink and the solar cell layer are thus spaced apart from one another or only lie on one another without a connection being formed by means of the adhesive layer. In the spacing region at least minimal relative movement between the flat heat sink and the solar cell layer is therefore possible. It is thus possible in particular to provide the flat heat sink and the solar cell layer with mutually different coefficients of thermal expansion.

[0019] The different expansions during production and / or operation of the PVT module do not lead to undesirable stresses in the PVT module and resulting deformations, as the surface heat sink and the solar cell layer are not rigidly connected to each other in the spacer area and are movable relative to each other. Excessive mechanical stresses due to the different expansion coefficients are thus avoided.

[0020] The adhesive region enables reliable attachment of the solar cell layer and the flat heat sink to one another. However, the adhesive layer is significantly smaller than the main surface of the flat heat sink, thereby reducing thermal stress during production and operation. Thermal expansion of the solar cell layer and / or the flat heat sink can occur independently of one another in the spacing region. This makes it possible, in particular, to produce the flat heat sink with the metallic plates and the solar cell layer with a glass substrate. According to at least one embodiment, the adhesive region is arranged centrally on the first plate. In particular, the adhesive region is arranged centrally on the main surface. The adhesive region is laterally surrounded by the spacing region. The spacing region is therefore provided at the edges of the flat heat sink, the solar cell layer and / or the PVT module. In the middle area, the solar cell layer and the surface heat sink are connected to each other by means of the adhesive layer.

[0021] According to at least one embodiment, the adhesion region is arranged centrally on the first plate. Along a transverse direction, the adhesion region extends from a first longitudinal side of the first plate to a second longitudinal side of the first plate. The adhesion region is therefore not completely surrounded laterally by the spacing region. The adhesion region extends from the first longitudinal side to the opposite second longitudinal side. Next to the adhesion region, the spacing region is arranged on the main surface and is separated into two partial regions, for example by means of the adhesion region. The adhesion region is thus arranged between the two partial regions of the spacing region.

[0022] It is also possible to combine different designs and shapes of the adhesion region with one another and in particular to provide more than one adhesion region, for example two adhesion regions, three adhesion regions or more. For example, one of the adhesion regions is completely surrounded laterally by the spacing region and a further adhesion region extends completely from the first longitudinal side to the second longitudinal side. According to at least one embodiment, the adhesion region covers 15% to 75% of the main area. The area of the adhesion region therefore corresponds, for example, to 15% to 75% of the main area. For example, the adhesion region covers 25% to 45% of the main area, in particular between 28% and 35%.

[0023] According to at least one embodiment, the adhesive layer is formed by means of a lamination film. The lamination film comprises, for example, an EVA, PVB and / or TPO film. During production, the lamination film is heated, for example to temperatures between 120 °C and 150 °C. This operation, which can also be referred to as the lamination process, serves to bond the solar cell layer and the flat heat sink to one another. The solar cell layer and the flat heat sink are also heated during lamination. During cooling, the flat heat sink contracts, for example, more than the solar cell layer. This is possible without undesirably strong mechanical stresses, since the adhesive layer is only formed in the adhesion region and the spacing region is free of the lamination film.

[0024] According to at least one embodiment, the PVT module comprises a thermally conductive paste. The thermally conductive paste is arranged in the spacing region. The thermally conductive paste serves to achieve sufficiently high thermal conductivity between the solar cell layer and the flat heat sink, even in the spacing region. This enables sufficiently good thermal performance and leads to efficient dissipation of thermal energy from the PVT module. The thermally conductive paste enables a good thermal connection between the flat heat sink and the solar cell layer. The thermally conductive paste is flexible enough to allow sufficient relative movement between the solar cell layer and the flat heat sink at temperatures occurring during operation, for example between -40°C and +80°C. It is possible to arrange the thermal paste over the entire surface in the spacing region. It is also possible to coat individual, local, spaced-apart areas with thermal paste. Accordingly, parts of the spaced area are filled with thermal paste, while other parts are left free of thermal paste.

[0025] According to at least one embodiment, the PVT module has a support frame. The support frame supports the PVT module mechanically. The support frame clamps the solar cell layer and the flat heat sink together at the spacing region. In particular, the support frame clamps the solar cell layer and the flat heat sink in an edge region on the long sides and / or the short sides. This creates a further connection between the solar cell layer and the flat heat sink in addition to the adhesive region. In the edge region, the support frame holds the flat heat sink and the solar cell layer together. Nevertheless, different thermal expansions are possible in the spacing region. The flat heat sink, for example, seals the PVT module laterally so that no water, dirt or other substances can penetrate into the spacing region during operation.

[0026] According to at least one embodiment, the PVT module has a mounting interface. The mounting interface is designed for mounting on a substructure. The mounting interface is part of the second plate. The PVT module can be fastened to the substructure by means of the mounting interface of the second plate. The mounting interface is integrated into the second plate, thus enabling simple and reliable installation. In particular, additional elements such as screws, clamps, or other separate fastening means can be dispensed with.

[0027] According to at least one embodiment, the mounting interface is designed as a recess in the second plate. Alternatively or additionally, the mounting interface is designed as a hook on the second plate. It is also possible for the PVT module to have multiple mounting interfaces that are designed differently from one another.

[0028] It is also possible for the mounting interface described here, which is formed for example by means of the recess and / or by means of the hook, to be provided on a PVT module of a different design than the one described here. In particular, it is possible for a PVT module which has a full-surface adhesive layer or the spacer region to have the mounting interface described here. Such a photovoltaic thermal module therefore has the solar cell layer, the surface heat sink and the adhesive layer. The surface heat sink has the two plates, the first plate being flat and the cooling channels being defined by the second plate. The surface heat sink is fastened to the solar cell layer by means of the adhesive layer which extends over the entire main surface or almost the entire main surface.

[0029] According to at least one embodiment, a solar system comprises a PVT module described here, for example a PVT module with the adhesion region and the spacing region and / or a PVT module without the spacing region, wherein the photovoltaic-thermal module has at least one mounting interface described here.

[0030] The solar system has a substructure. The substructure has an additional mounting interface. The mounting interface and the additional mounting interface can be at least partially inserted into one another in a form-fitting manner in order to fasten the photovoltaic-thermal module to the substructure. In the ready-to-use state, the mounting interface and the additional mounting interface are connected to one another in a form-fitting manner in order to fasten the PVT module and the substructure together.

[0031] According to at least one embodiment, the further mounting interface has a recess and, alternatively or additionally, a hook. In particular, the mounting interface has, for example, a hook and the further mounting interface has a recess. Alternatively or additionally, the mounting interface has a recess and the further mounting interface has a hook. The hook can be inserted into the recess such that the hook engages in the recess and hooks behind it. For example, the substructure has a hook and the second plate of the PVT module has a recess.

[0032] The photovoltaic thermal module can be attached to the substructure by applying the recess to the hook, so that the photovoltaic thermal module is suspended from the recesses on the hooks of the substructure. Similarly, the PVT module can be attached to the substructure if the PVT module has one or more hooks. The substructure has one or more recesses into which the hooks can be inserted, allowing the PVT module to be suspended from the substructure using the hooks.

[0033] The mounting interface is integrated into the heat sink. This allows for simple, fast, efficient, and cost-effective installation of the PVT modules on the substructure. Additional clamps are also unnecessary. This also makes it possible, for example, to dispense with the support frame.

[0034] Further advantages, features, and developments are explained below with reference to the drawings. Like reference symbols indicate like elements in the individual figures. References are not to scale; rather, individual elements may be exaggerated for clarity.

[0039] Figure 5 is a schematic representation of an embodiment of a surface heat sink, and

[0040] Figure 6 is a schematic representation of an embodiment of a solar system.

[0041] A photovoltaic thermal module 100, or PVT module for short, combines photovoltaic modules for power generation with the utilization of the modules' waste heat. PVT modules thus convert incoming solar energy into electrical power, and the resulting waste heat is utilized. In addition to electrical energy, such PVT modules also simultaneously produce heat, for example, in the form of hot water or other cooling fluids.

[0042] An example of such a PVT module is shown in Figure 1. Examples of the basic functionality and areas of application of the PVT modules 100 described here are described in German patent application 102021123000. 4, the contents of which are incorporated in their entirety by reference.

[0043] Figure 1 shows a sectional view of an exemplary embodiment of the photovoltaic thermal module 100. The PVT module 100 has a front glass 1. A surface heat sink 10 is located on a side opposite the front glass 1.

[0044] A plurality of, for example, crystalline solar cells 2 are electrically connected to one another via electrical cell connectors 3 and arranged in a solar cell layer 20 along a vertical direction Z between the front glass 1 and the surface heat sink 10. In particular, the solar cells 2 with the electrical cell connectors 3 are embedded in a lamination film, for example, in an EVA film.

[0045] A rear wall 5, in particular a rear wall film or a rear wall glass, is located on a side of the solar cell layer 20 opposite the front glass 1. The rear wall 5 has a rear side 6 facing away from the solar cell layer 20.

[0046] The surface heat sink is connected to the solar cell layer 20 by means of an adhesive layer 9 on the rear side 6 of the rear wall 5. The solar cell layer 20 is thus attached to the surface heat sink 10 by means of the adhesive layer 9. The adhesive layer 9 has, for example, an adhesive layer or a lamination layer. Thus, the surface heat sink 10 is laminated in particular to the rear side 6. In particular, the adhesive layer 9 is formed using an EVA film. The adhesive layer 9 bonds the surface heat sink 10 to the solar cell layer 20.

[0047] The flat heat sink 10 is formed, in particular, from aluminum. The flat heat sink 10 comprises, for example, two thin aluminum plates 10a, 10b. In addition, a connecting means 10d is provided, for example, to connect the two plates 10a, 10b to one another.

[0048] A channel structure with a multitude of cooling channels 10c is embossed into one of the two plates 10a, 10b, for example, by a punching process. This channel structure consists, for example, of numerous branches and is optimized to dissipate heat as efficiently as possible and enable the lowest possible pressure losses.

[0049] The flat heat sink 10 is based in particular on the aluminum plates 10a, 10b, which, for example, have a thickness of approximately 1 mm. The inner diameter of the cooling channels 10c is, for example, between 1 mm and 15 mm and can vary along the channels. The flat heat sink 10 has, for example, exactly one inlet and one return, which are not explicitly shown in Figure 1. Starting from the supply and return, the cooling channels 10c branch out, so that the width of the cooling channels can decrease with increasing distance from the supply and / or return.

[0050] The adhesive layer 9 with the lamination film is formed in an adhesive region 30. In addition to the adhesive region 30, in particular along a longitudinal direction X and / or transverse direction Y (Figure 2), a spacing region 40 is provided between the rear side 6 and the surface heat sink 10. No adhesive layer 9 is formed in the spacing region 40 and in particular no lamination film is provided. The spacing region 40 is formed in particular between a first main surface 11 of the first plate 10a and the rear side 6. The first main surface 11 faces the solar cell layer 20.

[0051] A part of the first main surface 11 is covered by the adhesive layer 9 and a further part, i.e. the spacer region 40, is free of the adhesive layer 9. Accordingly, only a part of the rear side 6, namely the adhesive region 30, is covered by the adhesive layer 9 and a further part, namely the spacer region 40, is free of the adhesive layer 9. In the adhesive region 30, the rear wall 5 and the first plate 10a are connected to one another by means of the adhesive layer 9 and, in particular, material-fit connections are formed.

[0052] Outside the adhesion region 30, in the spacing region 40, the first plate 10a and the rear wall 5 are not directly connected to one another. In particular, no connecting material capable of permanently transmitting forces between the rear wall 5 and the surface heat sink 10 is arranged along the vertical direction Z between the first main surface 11 and the rear side 6. In the spacing region 40, the adhesion layer is not in direct contact with the rear side 6 and not in direct contact with the first main surface 11.

[0053] In a resting state, the rear side 6 and the first main surface 11 are spaced apart from one another, for example, along the vertical direction Z. The adhesive layer 9 is formed at this distance in the adhesive region 30. The spacer region 40 is not filled with the adhesive layer 9, but is, for example, completely or partially filled with air.

[0054] To improve heat conduction between the solar cell layer 20 and the flat heat sink 10, even in the spacing region 40, a thermally conductive paste 41 is provided, for example, between the rear side 6 and the first main surface 11. According to further exemplary embodiments, the thermally conductive paste 41 can also be omitted. The thermally conductive paste 41 is designed to transfer heat between the solar cell layer 20 and the flat heat sink 10. Thus, sufficient heat transport is also achieved in the spacing region 40, in which no direct connection is formed by the adhesive layer 9.

[0055] The spacing region 40 without the adhesive layer 9 makes it possible to avoid undesirable thermal stresses between the solar cell layer 20 and the heat sink 10, which arise due to different thermal expansion coefficients. Because the solar cell layer 20 and the heat sink 10 are not directly connected to one another in the spacing region 40, different expansion during production and operation is possible without undesirable stresses occurring. Thus, for example, bending of the PVT module 100 due to such stresses can be avoided.

[0056] The PVT module 100 has a support frame 50. The support frame 50, for example made of aluminum, mechanically supports the PVT module 100, in particular the solar cell layer 20 and the surface heat sink 10.

[0057] The support frame 50 is attached in particular to the sides of the PVT module 100 which are aligned transversely to the first main surface 11. According to further exemplary embodiments, the support frame 50 can be dispensed with. The support frame 50 is used, for example, to laterally seal the distance between the rear side 6 and the first main surface 11, thus preventing water, dust or other contaminants from penetrating the spacing region 40. It is also possible for a silicone or an adhesive tape to be applied to the support frame 50 which is flexible enough to enable relative movement between the surface heat sink 10 and the solar cell layer 20. Figure 2 shows a plan view of a second main surface 12, that is to say, for example, of an underside of the PVT module 100. Figure 2 shows a schematic view of the position of the adhesive region 30 according to one exemplary embodiment.According to further embodiments, the position and / or size of the adhesive region 30 are configured differently. The external shape of the adhesive region 30 may also deviate from the rectangular shape shown. It is also possible to provide two or more spaced-apart adhesive regions 30.

[0058] In the illustrated embodiment according to Figure 2, the adhesive region 30 is completely surrounded laterally by the spacing region 40. Thus, spacings 15, 16, 17, 18 are provided along the longitudinal direction X and along the transverse direction Y between the adhesive region 30 and the outer sides 13, 14, 19 of the PVT module 100. The adhesive layer 9 in the adhesive region 30 is arranged at a distance from the sides 13, 14, 19. The adhesive layer 9 does not extend to the sides 13, 14, 19.

[0059] It is possible that recesses 31 are provided in the adhesive area 30, in which no adhesive layer 9 is arranged. These recesses 19 serve, for example, to enable electrical connections.

[0060] According to further exemplary embodiments, the distances 15, 16 between the adhesive layer 9 and the longitudinal sides 13, 14 are 0 or almost 0. The adhesive region thus extends, for example, from the longitudinal side 13 along the transverse direction Y to the longitudinal side 14. Along the longitudinal direction X, the spacing region 40 is thus arranged first, then the adhesive region 30 and subsequently the spacing region 40 again. Thus, along the longitudinal sides 13, 14, which are longer than the transverse sides 19, sufficient spacing regions 40 are provided in order to be able to compensate for the different expansions that occur mainly along the longitudinal sides 13, 14.

[0061] For example, the transverse side 19 has a length of between 900 and 1300 mm along the transverse direction Y. For example, the long sides 13, 14 have a length of between 1500 and 2500 mm along the longitudinal direction X. For example, the distances 15, 16 have a value of between 0 and 300 mm. It is also possible for the distances 15 to be of different sizes. For example, the distances 17, 18 each have a value of more than 300 mm, for example between 300 mm and 500 mm. The size of the distances 15, 16, 17, 18 depends in particular on the length of the long sides 13, 14 and transverse sides 19.

[0062] For example, the adhesion region 30 covers an area that is smaller than half the area of the second main surface 12. For example, the adhesion region 30 covers approximately one-third of the second main surface 12.

[0063] The adhesion region 30 and the spacing region 40 enable the reduction of thermal stress, since the adhesion layer 9 is arranged, in particular, only centrally on the rear side 6 or the first main surface 11. Outside the adhesion region 30, the thermal expansion of the solar cell layer 20 and the surface heat sink 10 can thus occur independently of one another and, in particular, without influencing one another in such a way that undesirable mechanical stresses occur.

[0064] The following explanations regarding Figures 3 to 6 apply both to a photovoltaic thermal module 100 described here with the adhesive region 30 and the spacer region 40, as well as to a differently designed photovoltaic thermal module 100 with the surface heat sink 10, in which the adhesive region 30 completely covers the first main surface 11. Such a PVT module 100 is described, for example, in German patent application 102021123000.4.

[0065] The PVT module 100 according to Figures 3 to 6 has a mounting interface 60. The mounting interface 60 is integrated into the second plate 10b. Thus, the mounting interface 60 is an integral part of the surface heat sink 10.

[0066] In the exemplary embodiment according to Figures 3 and 4, the mounting interface 60 has two recesses 61. More or fewer recesses 61 may also be provided. The recesses 61 are openings, slots, or other cutouts in the second plate 10b. The PVT module 100 can be attached to a substructure 70 of a solar system 200 using the recesses 61.

[0067] The substructure 70 comprises, for example, aluminum profiles or other mounting rails. The substructure 70 has a mounting interface 73. The mounting interface 73 of the substructure 70 and the mounting interface 60 of the PVT module 100 are designed such that the PVT module 100 and the substructure 70 can be fastened to one another by means of the mounting interfaces 60, 73.

[0068] In the exemplary embodiment according to Figure 4, the mounting interface 73 of the substructure 70 has two hooks 72. In particular, the mounting interface 60 and the mounting interface 73 are coordinated with one another, so that the hooks 72 can, for example, engage in the recess 71 and hook behind the second plate 10b. Thus, by means of the mounting interface 60, the PVT module 100 can be suspended, for example, from the hooks 72 of the substructure 70.

[0069] As shown in Figures 5 and 6, a complementary design of the mounting interfaces 60 and 73 is also possible. Thus, the mounting interface 60 of the PVT module 100 has, for example, two hooks 62. The mounting interface 73 of the substructure 70 has, for example, two recesses 71. The hooks 62 are in particular part of the second plate 10b. For example, the hooks 62 are firmly connected to the second plate 10b, for example welded, soldered and / or glued. By means of the hooks 62 of the PVT module 100, the PVT module 100 can be suspended in the recesses 71 of the substructure 70.

[0070] The substructure 70 is connected, for example, to a roof structure or an open-space structure. The integration of the mounting interface 60 in the surface heat sink 10 and the matching mounting interface 73 of the substructure 70 enable simple, fast, efficient, and cost-effective mounting of the PVT module 100 on the substructure 70. In particular, it is possible to dispense with the support frame 50 for mounting, since no screws or clamps are required, which are conventionally used, for example, to clamp the support frame 50 to the substructure 70. The mounting interfaces 60 and 73 replace, in particular, such additional clamping elements. Thus, no engagement surface for the clamping elements needs to be formed on the PVT module 100. The PVT module 100 is fastened by means of the mounting interface 60 arranged on the rear side or the second main surface 12.

[0071] The mounting interface 60 on the PVT module 100 enables simple and cost-effective installation of the PVT module 100 on the substructure 70 using the additional mounting interface 73. Installation is easy to perform, thus saving installation time and costs.

[0072] The photovoltaic thermal module 100 according to the different embodiments and the solar system 200 with the photovoltaic thermal module 100 and the substructure 70 enable reliable operation of the PVT module 100 as well as efficient installation.
