Abstract
Description
[0001]DRILL STAND Description of the invention The invention, as the title of this specification establishes, is a drill stand, which is an innovation that within the current techniques provides advantages unknown until now. Thanks to its design and configuration, the stand can be anchored to any type of conduit or pipe, regardless of whether it has a cylindrical or quadrangular shape. This will allow the operator to work more comfortably, since he does not have to support the weight of the drill. This also allows him to carry out the work with greater precision. Technical sector Therefore, this invention is limited to the field of manufacturing drill stands and tools. State of the art In many plumbing and air conditioning installations, the use of drills is a necessity to make holes in pipes and conduits. However, operators are often in awkward positions, making it difficult to support the weight of the drill and work accurately. Furthermore, commercially available drill stands are primarily designed for flat surfaces, leaving those who need to drill into cylindrical pipes and conduits without options. This lack of adequate pipe and conduit supports has created several challenges in the plumbing and HVAC field. Operators are forced to perform their work in awkward and often unstable positions, making it difficult to properly hold the drill. This can result in inaccurate drilling, damage to pipes and conduits, and an overall decline in work quality. Furthermore, inaccurate drilling can negatively impact installation performance. In the case of plumbing, for example, an improperly drilled hole can cause water leaks, damage pipes, and require costly repairs. In HVAC, improper drilling of ducts can affect airflow and compromise the energy efficiency of the entire system. Given this problem, it is crucial to develop specialized drill stands tailored to the needs of plumbing and HVAC. These stands should allow for secure and stable attachment to cylindrical pipes and ducts, providing operators with the comfort and precision needed to perform their work efficiently and effortlessly. The plumbing and HVAC industry would greatly benefit from the availability of drill stands specifically designed for pipes and ducts. These devices would facilitate drilling tasks, reduce errors and damage, and improve the overall quality of the installations. By providing operators with the appropriate tools, a safer and more efficient working environment would be promoted in these fields. The present invention is presented with the objective of solving the detailed problems. It is unknown if any product exists with the same technical characteristics as the invention presented here. Description of the invention The object of the present invention is to create a drill stand that provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art. The characterizing details that make it possible are conveniently included in the final claims that accompany this description. The drill stand can be attached to any conduit or pipe, whether cylindrical, square, or irregular in shape. This allows the operator to work comfortably without having to bear the weight of the drill. It also allows the drill bit or core bit to penetrate perpendicularly into the surface to be drilled, resulting in a longer tool life. To this end, the drill stand comprises a mobile structure with a means of coupling to a drill, and a fixing structure with a means of fixing to the conduit or pipe. The coupling means is universal, allowing all types of drills to be attached, regardless of their size or manufacturer. The mobile structure is connected to the fixing structure through a joint that allows the mobile structure to move relative to the fixing structure to move the drill closer to or further from the conduit or pipe. This way, the user can drill comfortably into the conduit or pipe without having to bear the weight of the drill. They can also work precisely because they won't have to strain to support the drill. In order to complete the description being made and in order to assist in a better understanding of the features of the invention, this specification is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by a figure in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following is represented. Figure 1 corresponds to a perspective view of the drill stand. Preferred embodiment of the invention The drill stand comprises: - a mobile structure (1) with means for coupling to a drill (2), - a fixing structure (3) with means for fixing to the conduit or pipe (4), the mobile structure (1) being linked to the fixing structure (3) by means of a joint that allows the mobile structure (1) to move with respect to the fixing structure (3) in order to move the drill closer to or further away from the conduit or pipe (4).In a preferred embodiment, the means for coupling the drill (2) to the mobile structure (1) is formed by a clamp (5) with a tightening means. The tightening means will have nuts that allow it to be tightened to the drill so that it remains immobilized. Preferably, the union of the mobile structure (1) with the fixing structure (3) is formed by two vertical guides (3.1) that emerge from the fixed structure, the vertical guides (3.1) being parallel to each other. The mobile structure (1) slides along the vertical guides (3.1) since it has two through holes (1.1). The vertical guides (3.1) will have a stop (3.2) that prevents the mobile structure from being able to completely come out. This stop may be removable so that if the user wants to disassemble the assembly, he may do so. Generally, one of the vertical guides (3.1) will have a spring that pushes the mobile structure (1) against the stop (3.2).In a preferred embodiment, the fixing means of the fixing structure (3) to the conduit or pipe (4) is formed by a structure with a chain (3.2) whose first end is connected to the fixing structure (3) and the other end is introduced through a tightening means located in the mobile structure (1), such that the chain (3.2) wraps around the conduit or pipe (4). This chain (3.2) allows the support to be fixed to all types of conduits or pipes regardless of whether they have a cylindrical, quadrangular or irregular shape. It also allows (3.2) to rotate the entire assembly around the pipe or conduit to which it is fixed. Generally, the tightening means is a threaded element (6) whose rotation in one direction causes the chain that is tightened on the conduit or pipe (4) to be collected. Its rotation in the opposite direction causes the chain to loosen, thus being able to release it from the conduit.Preferably, the mobile structure will have a lever arm (7) at the end of which there is a pinion that meshes with a rack (8) that is in one of the vertical guides (3.1) for its movement on the fixing structure (3). The part of the fixing structure (3) that is in contact with the duct (4) is formed by two laminar elements that form an angle less than 180 degrees. Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to elaborate on its explanation so that any expert in the field understands its scope and the advantages derived from it, stating that, within its essentiality, it may be put into practice in other embodiments that differ in detail from that indicated by way of example, and to which it will also achieve the protection that is sought as long as its fundamental principle is not altered, changed or modified.
