Description

Lighting devices and medical device kits for medical devices

[0001] Cross-references

[0002] This application refers to Chinese patent application No. 202310749306.6, filed on June 21, 2023, entitled “Lighting device and medical device kit for medical devices”, which is incorporated into this application in its entirety by reference. Technical Field

[0003] The present application relates to the technical field of medical devices, and in particular to a lighting device and a medical device kit for medical devices. Background Art

[0004] Currently, the lighting system used in surgical equipment is mainly shadowless lamps. While shadowless lamps are suitable for most applications, they are difficult to use in some surgeries. Light cannot penetrate deep into the wound, especially in deep wounds, small wounds, or large internal wounds.

[0005] Summary of the Invention

[0006] This application aims to solve at least one of the technical problems existing in the background technology.

[0007] According to one aspect of the present application, some embodiments of the present application provide a lighting device for a medical device, the lighting device comprising: a shell part, the shell part having a accommodating space extending along the longitudinal axis of the shell part; and a lighting assembly, the lighting assembly being arranged in the accommodating space and having a channel extending along the longitudinal axis.

[0008] By applying the lighting device according to some embodiments of the present application to a medical device, for example, by fixing the lighting device to the medical device, direct lighting can be provided to the operating part during the operation of the medical device, thereby facilitating the operator of the medical device to clearly see the operating part.

[0009] It should be understood that the "medical device" in this application may include any type of medical device, such as a scalpel, surgical clips, surgical forceps, irrigation or suction tubes, etc. The scalpel may include an ultrasonic scalpel and an electrosurgical scalpel.

[0010] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting assembly may include: a light-emitting element; and a light-guiding element arranged adjacent to the light-emitting element, the light-guiding element being used to guide light emitted by the light-emitting element to the outside of the lighting device; the light-emitting element and the light-guiding element jointly define a channel.

[0011] In the above embodiments of the present application, the light-emitting element may be disposed against the light-guiding element or may be spaced a certain distance from the light-guiding element, as long as the light-guiding element can guide the light emitted by the light-emitting element to the outside of the lighting device.

[0012] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light emitting element may be annular, and the light guiding element may be cylindrical, whereby the light emitting element and the light guiding element may jointly define a channel having a circular cross-section.

[0013] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light-emitting element includes any one of a halogen lamp, an LED lamp bead, and an optical fiber, or a combination of two or more thereof.

[0014] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light guide element is transparent or translucent.

[0015] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light guide element is made of any one or more materials selected from polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, and polymethyl methacrylate.

[0016] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light guide element further includes a light diffuser.

[0017] Light diffusers can include inorganic light diffusers (such as nano-barium sulfate, calcium carbonate, silicon dioxide, etc.) and organic light diffusers (such as acrylic, styrene, acrylic resin, etc.). By adding light diffusers to the light guide element, the lighting range and / or lighting uniformity of the lighting device can be expanded.

[0018] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light guide element extends a predetermined distance from the accommodating space.

[0019] Since the external dimensions of the light guide element are smaller than the external dimensions of the shell component, by arranging the light guide element to extend a predetermined distance from the accommodating space, the light guide element can be brought closer to the operating part of the medical device, while preventing the shell component with larger external dimensions from blocking the line of sight of the medical device operator due to its proximity to the operating part of the medical device.

[0020] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device further includes a power supply electrically connected to the lighting assembly.

[0021] It should be understood that the "power supply" here can be a power supply fixedly connected to the lighting component, or a power supply that can be detachably connected to the lighting component (for example, the power supply is an external power supply that is electrically connected to the lighting component via a wire).

[0022] In some embodiments according to the present application, the housing component is provided with a power supply accommodating portion for accommodating a power supply and a cover for closing the power supply accommodating portion.

[0023] In some embodiments according to the present application, the cover seals the power supply in the power supply receiving portion.

[0024] Because medical devices may come into direct contact with body fluids (e.g., blood) or flushing fluids during use, the lighting device may also come into direct contact with body fluids (e.g., blood) or flushing fluids. Sealing the power supply within the power supply housing prevents these liquids from causing short circuits within the lighting device.

[0025] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device further includes a switch disposed in the housing component, the switch being configured to selectively connect and disconnect the electrical connection between the power source and the lighting assembly.

[0026] By providing the switch, the electrical connection between the power supply and the lighting assembly can be selectively connected and disconnected during use of the medical device.

[0027] In some embodiments according to the present application, the housing component has a first end and a second end opposite to each other, the light guide element is disposed adjacent to the first end, and the switch is disposed adjacent to the second end.

[0028] To better illuminate the operating area of a medical device, the illuminating end of the light guide should be placed as close to the operating area as possible during use. For deep wound surgeries, the illuminating end of the light guide may enter the wound. Placing the switch as far away from the light guide as possible allows for easier operation.

[0029] In some embodiments according to the present application, the switch is a one-time switch.

[0030] To avoid possible infection from repeated use, the lighting device in the embodiments of the present application may be a disposable lighting device. To prevent the lighting device of the present application from being reused unintentionally, the switch may be configured as a one-time-use switch, i.e., once the switch is turned on, it cannot be turned off again, or once the switch is turned on and off once, it cannot be turned on again.

[0031] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device further includes a disposable insulating member, which is used to disconnect the electrical connection between the power source and the lighting assembly.

[0032] In the above-described embodiment of the present application, the disposable insulating member can function as a switch. That is, by removing the insulating member, the electrical connection between the power source and the lighting assembly can be established, thereby enabling the lighting device to illuminate. Because the insulating member is disposable, once removed from the lighting device, it cannot be reused to disconnect the electrical connection between the power source and the lighting assembly. Therefore, the insulating member can prevent the lighting device from being reused.

[0033] If the lighting device of the present application is provided with a switch that selectively connects and disconnects the electrical connection between the power source and the lighting assembly, the insulating member can be used to prevent the switch from being accidentally activated during transportation or use of the lighting device, thereby disconnecting the electrical connection between the power source and the lighting assembly. That is, until the disposable insulating member is removed, the insulating member disconnects the electrical connection between the power source and the lighting assembly, even if the switch is in the on state.

[0034] In some embodiments according to the present application, the housing component includes a connecting portion, and the connecting portion is used to detachably fix the lighting device to the medical instrument.

[0035] The above embodiments of the present application are particularly suitable for reusable medical devices, that is, after use, the lighting device can be removed from the medical device to facilitate operations such as disinfection of the medical device.

[0036] According to another aspect of the present application, some embodiments of the present application provide a medical device kit, which includes: a medical device; and a lighting device according to any of the above embodiments.

[0037] It should be understood that according to the medical device kit of the above-mentioned embodiment of the present application, the lighting device can be fixedly set on the medical device, or the lighting device and the medical device can be set to be separated from each other, and the lighting device is only fixed to the medical device when the medical device is in use.

[0038] In some embodiments according to the present application, a portion of the medical instrument is received within the channel of the lighting assembly.

[0039] The lighting device is used to illuminate the operating area of a medical device so that the operator can clearly see the operating area. Therefore, illustratively, the lighting device is positioned on the medical device near the operating area to better illuminate the operating area. By accommodating a portion of the medical device within the channel of the lighting assembly, it is possible to prevent certain components of the medical device from blocking the light emitted by the lighting device, while also achieving 360-degree illumination around the medical device.

[0040] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device can be detachably fixed to the medical instrument.

[0041] As mentioned above, the above embodiments of the present application are particularly suitable for reusable medical devices. That is, after use, the lighting device can be removed from the medical device to facilitate operations such as disinfection of the medical device.

[0042] In some embodiments according to the present application, the medical instrument includes a handle, and the lighting device is detachably connected to the handle.

[0043] The above-mentioned embodiments of the present application are particularly applicable to ultrasonic medical devices, such as various types of ultrasonic scalpels. Ultrasonic medical devices include a vibration source (such as an ultrasonic transducer, which can be used as a handle of the ultrasonic medical device) and an actuator (used to amplify the vibration generated by the vibration source for surgical operation). By fixing the lighting device to the handle, on the one hand, it is possible to prevent the lighting device from affecting the operation of the actuator of the ultrasonic medical device, and on the other hand, it is possible to prevent the vibration of the actuator from affecting the lighting effect of the lighting device.

[0044] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device is detachably connected to the handle via a threaded connection, a snap connection, or an interference fit.

[0045] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device is detachably fixed to the medical device through interference fit between a portion of the medical device and a channel of the lighting assembly.

[0046] In some embodiments according to the present application, a gap is provided between a portion of the medical device and the channel.

[0047] The above-mentioned embodiments of the present application are also particularly applicable to ultrasonic medical devices, such as various types of ultrasonic scalpels. Ultrasonic medical devices include a vibration source (such as an ultrasonic transducer, which can be used as a handle of the ultrasonic medical device) and an actuator (used to amplify the vibration generated by the vibration source for surgical operation). By providing a gap between a portion of the medical device and the channel, on the one hand, it is possible to prevent the lighting device from affecting the operation of the actuator of the ultrasonic medical device, and on the other hand, it is possible to prevent the vibration of the actuator from affecting the lighting effect of the lighting device. [0057] Hereinafter, only certain exemplary embodiments are briefly described. As will be appreciated by those skilled in the art, the described embodiments may be modified in various ways without departing from the spirit or scope of the present application. Therefore, the drawings and description are to be regarded as illustrative in nature and not restrictive.

[0058] Figure 1 is a perspective view of a lighting device according to a first embodiment of the present application; Figure 2 is an exploded view of the lighting device shown in Figure 1. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, a lighting device 100 for a medical device (not shown) according to some embodiments of the present application includes a housing 110 having a receiving space extending along the longitudinal axis of the housing 110; and a lighting assembly 120 disposed within the receiving space and having a channel 121 extending along the longitudinal axis.

[0059] By applying the lighting device 100 according to some embodiments of the present application to a medical device, for example, by fixing the lighting device 100 to the medical device, direct lighting can be provided to the operating part during the operation of the medical device, thereby facilitating the operator of the medical device to clearly see the operating part.

[0060] It should be understood that the "medical device" in this application may include any type of medical device, such as a scalpel, surgical clips, surgical forceps, irrigation or suction tubes, etc. The scalpel may include an ultrasonic scalpel and an electrosurgical scalpel.

[0061] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting assembly 120 may include: a light-emitting element 122; and a light-guiding element 123 arranged adjacent to the light-emitting element 122, the light-guiding element 123 being used to guide the light emitted by the light-emitting element 122 to the outside of the lighting device 100; the light-emitting element 122 and the light-guiding element 123 jointly define a channel 121.

[0062] In the above embodiments of the present application, the light emitting element 122 may be disposed against the light guiding element 123 or may be spaced a certain distance apart from the light guiding element 123 , as long as the light guiding element 123 can guide the light emitted by the light emitting element 122 to the outside of the lighting device 100 .

[0063] In some embodiments according to the present application, as shown in FIG2 , the light emitting element 122 may be annular, and the light guiding element 123 may be cylindrical, so that the light emitting element 122 and the light guiding element 123 may jointly define a channel 121 having a circular cross section.

[0064] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light emitting element 122 includes any one of a halogen lamp, an LED (Light-Emitting Diode), and an optical fiber, or a combination of two or more thereof.

[0065] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light guide element 123 is transparent or translucent.

[0066] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light guide element 123 is made of any one or more materials selected from polycarbonate, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, and polymethyl methacrylate.

[0067] In some embodiments of the present application, the light guide element 123 further includes a light diffuser. By adding the light diffuser to the light guide element, the lighting range and / or lighting uniformity of the lighting device 100 can be expanded.

[0068] In some embodiments according to the present application, the light guide element 123 extends a predetermined distance from the accommodating space.

[0069] Since the external dimensions of the light-guiding element 123 are smaller than the external dimensions of the shell component 110, by arranging the light-guiding element 123 to extend a predetermined distance from the accommodating space, the light-guiding element 123 can be brought closer to the operating part of the medical device, while preventing the shell component 110 with larger external dimensions from blocking the line of sight of the medical device operator due to being close to the operating part of the medical device.

[0070] Figure 3 is a perspective view of a lighting device provided in a second embodiment of the present application; Figure 4 is an exploded view of the lighting device shown in Figure 3. The lighting device 100 of the second embodiment shown in Figures 3 and 4 differs from the lighting device 100 of the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2 in that the lighting device 100 of the second embodiment shown in Figures 3 and 4 also includes additional components.

[0071] Specifically, as shown in FIG. 4 , the lighting device 100 further includes a power supply 130 , which is electrically connected to the lighting assembly 120 .

[0072] It should be understood that the "power supply 130" herein may be a power supply fixedly connected to the lighting assembly 120, or a power supply that can be detachably connected to the lighting assembly 120 (e.g., an external power supply electrically connected to the lighting assembly via a wire). For example, the power supply may include a battery.

[0073] As shown in FIG. 4 , the housing member 110 is provided with a power supply accommodating portion 111 for accommodating the power supply 12 and a cover 112 for closing the power supply accommodating portion 111 .

[0074] In some embodiments according to the present application, the cover 112 may seal the power supply 130 in the power supply accommodation portion.

[0075] Because medical devices may come into direct contact with body fluids (e.g., blood) or flushing liquids during use, the lighting device 100 may also come into direct contact with body fluids (e.g., blood) or flushing liquids. Sealing the power supply 130 within the power supply housing 111 prevents these liquids from causing a short circuit within the lighting device 100.

[0076] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device 100 further includes a switch 140 disposed in the housing component 110 , and the switch 140 is used to selectively connect and disconnect the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120 .

[0077] By providing the switch 140 , the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120 can be selectively connected and disconnected during use of the medical device.

[0078] In some embodiments according to the present application, the housing component 110 has a first end 112 and a second end 113 opposite to each other, the light guide element 123 is disposed adjacent to the first end 112 , and the switch 140 is disposed adjacent to the second end 113 .

[0079] To better illuminate the operating area of the medical device, the illuminating end of the light guide element 123 should be as close to the operating area as possible during use. During surgery involving a deep wound, the illuminating end of the light guide element 123 may enter the wound. By placing the switch 140 as far away from the light guide element 123 as possible, the switch 140 can be easily operated.

[0080] In some embodiments according to the present application, the switch 140 is a one-time switch.

[0081] To avoid possible infection from repeated use, the lighting device 100 in the embodiment of the present application can be, for example, a disposable lighting device. To prevent the lighting device 100 of the present application from being accidentally reused, the switch 140 can be configured as a single-use switch, i.e., once the switch 140 is turned on, it cannot be turned off again, or once the switch 140 is turned on and off once, it cannot be turned on again.

[0082] Figure 5 is a three-dimensional diagram of a lighting device provided in the third embodiment of the present application; Figure 6 is an exploded diagram of the lighting device shown in Figure 5; the difference between the lighting device 100 of the second embodiment shown in Figures 5 and 6 and the lighting device 100 of the first embodiment shown in Figures 3 and 4 is that the lighting device 100 of the second embodiment shown in Figures 5 and 6 also includes other components.

[0083] Specifically, as shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 , the lighting device 100 further includes a disposable insulating member 150 , which is used to disconnect the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120 .

[0084] In the above embodiment of the present application, the disposable insulating member 150 can function as a switch. That is, by removing the insulating member 150, the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120 can be established, thereby enabling the lighting device 100 to be used for lighting. Since the insulating member 150 is disposable, that is, once removed from the lighting device 100, it cannot be reused to disconnect the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120. Therefore, the insulating member 150 can also prevent the lighting device 100 from being reused.

[0085] In the case where the lighting device 100 of the present application is provided with a switch 140 for selectively connecting and disconnecting the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120 (for example, as shown in the embodiments of Figures 3 and 4 ), the insulating member 150 can be used to prevent the switch 140 from being accidentally touched during transportation or use of the lighting device 100, thereby connecting the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120. That is, before the disposable insulating member 150 is removed, the electrical connection between the power source 130 and the lighting assembly 120 is disconnected by the insulating member 150, even if the switch is in the on state.

[0086] In some embodiments according to the present application, the housing component 110 includes a connecting portion (not shown), which is used to detachably fix the lighting device 100 to a medical instrument.

[0087] The above-mentioned embodiments of the present application are particularly applicable to reusable medical devices. That is, after use, the lighting device 100 can be removed from the medical device to facilitate operations such as disinfection of the medical device.

[0088] According to another aspect of the present application, some embodiments of the present application provide a medical device kit, which includes: a medical device; and the lighting device 100 according to any of the above embodiments.

[0089] It should be understood that, according to the medical device kit of the above-mentioned embodiment of the present application, the lighting device 100 can be fixedly set on the medical device, or the lighting device 100 and the medical device can be set to be separated from each other, and the lighting device 100 is only fixed to the medical device when the medical device is in use.

[0090] FIG7 shows a perspective view of the lighting device 100 according to the present application connected to a medical device 200 .

[0091] Figure 8 shows a perspective view of the lighting device 100 according to the present application connected to another medical device 200. In the embodiments shown in Figures 7 and 8, a portion of the medical device 200 is accommodated within the channel of the lighting device 100. In the embodiment shown in Figure 7, the medical device 200 may be a scalpel of various types. In the embodiment shown in Figure 8, the medical device 200 may be a pipe of various types, such as an irrigation pipe, a suction pipe, etc.

[0092] The lighting device 100 is used to illuminate the operating area of a medical device 200 so that the operator of the medical device 200 can clearly see the operating area. Therefore, illustratively, the lighting device 100 is positioned on the medical device 200 near the operating area to better illuminate the operating area. By accommodating a portion of the medical device 200 within the channel of the lighting device 100, certain components of the medical device 200 can be prevented from blocking the light emitted by the lighting device 100, while also achieving 360-degree illumination around the medical device 200.

[0093] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device 100 can be detachably fixed to the medical device 200 .

[0094] As described above, the above embodiments of the present application are particularly suitable for reusable medical devices 200. That is, after use of the medical device 200, the lighting device 100 can be removed from the medical device 200 to facilitate operations such as disinfection of the medical device 200.

[0095] In some embodiments according to the present application, as shown in FIG. 7 , the medical device 200 includes a handle 210 , and the lighting device 100 is detachably connected to the handle 210 .

[0096] The above-mentioned embodiments of the present application are particularly suitable for ultrasonic medical devices, such as various types of ultrasonic scalpels. Ultrasonic medical devices include a vibration source (such as an ultrasonic transducer, which can be used as a handle of the ultrasonic medical device) and an actuator (for amplifying the vibration generated by the vibration source for surgical operations). By fixing the lighting device 100 to the handle 210, on the one hand, it is possible to prevent the lighting device 100 from affecting the operation of the actuator of the ultrasonic medical device, and on the other hand, it is possible to prevent the vibration of the actuator from affecting the lighting effect of the lighting device 100.

[0097] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device 100 is detachably connected to the handle 210 via a threaded connection, a snap connection, or an interference fit.

[0098] In some embodiments according to the present application, the lighting device 100 can be detachably fixed to the medical device 200 through interference fit between a portion of the medical device 200 and the channel 121 of the lighting assembly 120 .

[0099] In some embodiments according to the present application, a gap is provided between a portion of the medical device 200 and the channel 121 .

[0100] The above-mentioned embodiments of the present application are also particularly applicable to ultrasonic medical devices, such as various types of ultrasonic scalpels. Ultrasonic medical devices include a vibration source (such as an ultrasonic transducer, which can be used as a handle of an ultrasonic medical device) and an actuator (for amplifying the vibration generated by the vibration source for surgical operations). By providing a gap between a portion of the medical device 200 and the channel 121, on the one hand, it is possible to prevent the lighting device 100 from affecting the operation of the actuator of the ultrasonic medical device, and on the other hand, it is possible to prevent the vibration of the actuator from affecting the lighting effect of the lighting device 100.
