Description

Bird for measuring acceleration

[0001] The present invention relates to an acceleration measuring bird for collecting data necessary for setting the firing pressure of a battery activation test device for testing whether a battery is activated under required acceleration conditions.

[0002] Reserve batteries are stored in an inactive state, preventing self-discharge. When needed, they are activated under specific conditions to provide immediate power. [0003] Battery activation test equipment is designed to test whether a reserve battery can be activated in a timely manner. Specifically, the battery activation test equipment uses pneumatics or other means to fire a battery test bud equipped with a reserve battery at a specified launch pressure, thereby testing whether the reserve battery is actually activated under the acceleration conditions required for activation.

[0004] However, depending on the specifications of the battery, etc., the acceleration conditions required for the battery test bud are different, and even if the firing pressure conditions of the battery activation test equipment are the same, the acceleration conditions applied to the battery test bud may be different depending on the shape, weight, etc. of the battery test bud.

[0005] Accordingly, research and development are required for an acceleration measurement bird capable of collecting acceleration data that serves as a guideline for setting the firing pressure of a battery activation test device that satisfies the acceleration conditions required for the battery to be tested for the battery activation test.

[0026] In order to fully understand the present invention, its operational advantages, and the objects achieved by the practice of the present invention, reference should be made to the accompanying drawings illustrating preferred embodiments of the present invention and the contents described in the accompanying drawings.

[0027] Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail by describing preferred embodiments thereof with reference to the attached drawings. However, in explaining the present invention, descriptions of previously known functions or configurations will be omitted to clarify the gist of the present invention.

[0028] The acceleration measuring bud according to the present invention is used to provide data for setting the firing pressure in a battery activation test device that tests whether a battery under a required acceleration condition is activated, i.e., tests whether a battery under test is activated under a required acceleration.

[0029] That is, the acceleration measuring bud according to the present invention is mounted on a battery activation test device, and the bud is fired with a preset firing pressure to measure acceleration when colliding with a target on the opposite side, and the measured acceleration data is downloaded to a computer or the like to collect acceleration data corresponding to the firing pressure in the battery activation test device.

[0030] Accordingly, when testing a battery test bud with the battery activation test equipment, the firing pressure of the battery activation test equipment can be set to match the acceleration conditions required for the battery test bud based on the collected acceleration data, thereby facilitating the setting of the battery activation test equipment. Meanwhile, data based on the acceleration measuring bud according to the present invention can be built into a database so as to correspond not only to the firing pressure of the battery activation test equipment but also to the specification conditions such as the size and weight of the battery test bud.

[0031] FIG. 1 is a front perspective view of an acceleration measuring bud for setting a launch pressure of a battery activation test device according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a rear perspective view of the acceleration measuring bud illustrated in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the acceleration measuring bud illustrated in FIG. 1.

[0032] And, FIG. 4 is a side cross-sectional view of the acceleration measuring bird shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 5 is a plan cross-sectional view of the acceleration measuring bird shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view along line AA shown in FIG. 4, and FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view along line BB shown in FIG. 4.

[0033] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 7, an acceleration measuring bud according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a bud body part (10), an acceleration sensor part (30), a power supply part (40), and a control part (50).

[0034] The bud body (10) forms the exterior of the bud for measuring acceleration, and forms an internal space in which an acceleration sensor unit (30), a power supply unit (40), a control unit (50), etc. are mounted. At this time, the bud body (10) may be provided in a form or structure that allows the bud for measuring acceleration to be launched by the battery activation test equipment and collide with the target, similar to the bud for testing the battery. For reference, the bud for testing the battery is equipped with a battery to be tested by the battery activation test equipment, and is launched by the battery activation test equipment with a preset launching air pressure to collide with the target.

[0035] The bird body (10) includes a housing (150, 100, 110) that is arranged long in the front-back direction as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a front cap (120) that covers the front of the housing (150, 100, 110), and a rear cap (130) that covers the rear of the housing (150, 100, 110).

[0036] And, the housing (150, 100, 110) is provided in a form divided into three in the front-back direction as shown in FIGS. 3 to 5, and includes a first housing (150) in which an acceleration sensor unit (30) is built-in, a second housing (100) in which a control unit (50) is built-in, and a third housing in which a power supply unit (40) is built-in, and the first housing (150), the second housing (100), and the third housing are arranged in that order from the front to the rear. Accordingly, the acceleration sensor unit (30), the control unit (50), and the power supply unit (40) are arranged in that order from the front to the rear inside the bird body unit (10). For reference, the first housing (150), the second housing (100), and the third housing (110) correspond to a 'sensor housing', a 'circuit housing', and a 'battery housing', respectively.

[0037] In this way, by arranging the acceleration sensor unit (30), the control unit (50), and the power supply unit (40) in that order within the bird body unit (10), that is, by arranging the control unit (50) immediately behind the acceleration sensor unit (30) and immediately behind the control unit (50), the electrical circuit layout such as wiring can be simplified, and damage such as wire short circuits and signal noise can be minimized even in the event of external impact.

[0038] The first housing (150) is formed in a circular shape and protects the acceleration sensor unit (30) mounted therein. As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, a front groove (151) is formed on the front of the first housing (150) into which the rear portion of the front cap (120) is inserted, and a rear groove (152) is formed on the rear of the first housing (150) into which the front end of the second housing (100) is inserted.

[0039] The second housing (100) forms a hollow space in which the control unit (50) can be built, and as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, a first stopper (102) is provided on one side of the inner surface to limit the forward movement of the control unit (50) so that the control unit (50) does not shake even under external impact. At this time, the first stopper (102) is located at the front end of the second housing (100) and is provided in the form of a ring integrated with the second housing (100).

[0040] The third housing (110) forms a hollow space in which the power supply unit (40) can be built-in, and as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, a second stopper (116) is provided on one side of the inner surface so that the control unit (50) and the power supply unit (40) can be spaced apart from each other in the front-back direction so that the control unit (50) and the power supply unit (40) do not shake even when subjected to external impact. At this time, the second stopper (116) is provided in the form of a ring integrated with the third housing (110).

[0041] In addition, a rear flange portion (117) is provided on the front of the third housing (110) to protrude forward and be inserted into the hollow portion of the second housing (100), so that the second housing (100) and the third housing (110) can be firmly and tightly coupled to each other.

[0042] The front cap (120) is formed in a circular shape as illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5, and a plurality of impact pins (20) are coupled to the front surface thereof. A plurality of grooves are formed on the front surface of the front cap (120) so that the plurality of impact pins (20) can be inserted and coupled thereto. In the present embodiment, four impact pins (20) are provided, and the four impact pins (20) are arranged corresponding to each vertex of an imaginary rectangle (preferably a square) within the front cap (120).

[0043] The rear cap (130) is formed in a circular shape as shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, and includes a cover portion (132) that covers the rear surface of the third housing (110) and a plug portion (134) that protrudes from the front surface of the cover portion (132) and is inserted into the hollow portion of the third housing (110) so as to be more firmly and closely coupled with the third housing (110).

[0044] The plug (134) is formed to be long in the front-back direction so as to be inserted into the third housing (110) and contact the rear surface of the power supply unit (40), thereby limiting the rearward movement of the power supply unit (40) so that the power supply unit (40) does not shake even under external impact. The plug (134) is provided in a ring shape so as to enable wire connection, etc., and may be divided into a plurality of parts in the circumferential direction.

[0045] Here, the third housing (110) is composed of a main body (112) connected to the second housing (100) according to the cross-sectional size in the front-back direction, and a bottleneck (114) positioned at the rear of the main body (112) but having a smaller cross-sectional diameter than the main body (112), and a plug (134) is inserted into the bottleneck (114). In addition, the bird body (10) further includes a connecting ring (140) that is fitted to the outer surface of the third housing (110), i.e., the outer surface of the bottleneck (114), at a position corresponding to the plug (134) in the front-back direction, so that the rear cap (130) can be more firmly and closely coupled with the third housing (110).

[0046] In addition, a connector (131) for communication connection between the control unit (50) and an external system such as a computer (PC) is provided in the cover part (132), and this connector (131) may be provided as a USB terminal.

[0047] Meanwhile, the bird body (10) is formed with a plurality of fastening holes (10a) penetrating in the front-back direction as shown in FIGS. 3 to 7 in order to integrally connect the front cap (120), the first housing (150), the second housing (100), the third housing (110), and the rear cap (130). At this time, the fastening holes (10a) are formed to extend in the front-back direction from the front cap (120) to the rear cap (130). A fastening bolt (11) is inserted into each of these fastening holes (10a) in the front-back direction, and a fastening nut (12) is coupled to the rear end of the fastening bolt (11) while penetrating the bird body (10).

[0048] The acceleration sensor unit (30) is configured to measure the acceleration of the impact force generated when the acceleration measuring bud collides with the target by the battery activation test equipment, and as described above, is mounted in the first housing (150) of the bud body unit (10) and can be protected from external impact by the first housing (150).

[0049] Specifically, the acceleration sensor unit (30) is set to have a measurement range of 6000g by applying a margin of 1.5 times the target acceleration measurement range of 4000g, which is typical for battery activation test equipment. In addition, since the acceleration sensor unit (30) is configured as an independent package by the first housing (150), the circuit board for the acceleration sensor is manufactured separately from the circuit board (510) of the control unit (50) to be described later, mounted, and then fixed by epoxy molding, and is configured to be soldered and connected with the circuit board (510) of the control unit (50) mounted in the second housing (100) using wires.

[0050] The power supply unit (40) is configured to supply power for driving the acceleration measurement bud, particularly for driving the acceleration sensor unit (20) and the control unit (50), and is provided as a battery assembly capable of supplying the power required for stable driving of the acceleration measurement bud. In this embodiment, the power supply unit (40) is provided by configuring four coin-type rechargeable batteries in series to supply power of 14.8 V, and a PCM (Protection Circuit Module) circuit is applied to protect the batteries, and a capacitor and a zener diode are applied to the power input terminal to supply stable power even if the battery malfunctions due to external impact. In addition, the power supply unit (40) is firmly fixed by epoxy molding the four coin-type rechargeable batteries so as to withstand strong external impact.

[0051] Meanwhile, the power supply unit (40) is formed in a shape and size so that most of its outer surface is in close contact with the inner surface of the third housing (110) so that its position is firmly fixed within the third housing (110). However, on the outer surface of the power supply unit (40), as shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 6, a wire guide groove (41) for receiving a wire for electrically connecting the circuit board (510) of the control unit (50) and the connector (131) provided in the rear cap (130) is formed recessed along the front-back direction so that the wire can be easily drawn out from the circuit board (510) of the control unit (50) to the connector (131) of the rear cap (130). In the case of the present embodiment, since the circuit board (510) of the control unit (50) is provided in two pieces as described below, two wire guide grooves (41) are also formed in positions corresponding to the two circuit boards (510) respectively, one above the other.

[0052] The control unit (50) is provided to stably obtain data for setting the firing pressure of the battery activation test equipment that meets the acceleration conditions required for the battery test bud to be tested based on the acceleration measured by the acceleration sensor unit (30).

[0053] Specifically, the control unit (50) includes a circuit board (510) on which a circuit for processing a signal transmitted from an acceleration sensor (30) and a circuit for controlling power (voltage and current) supplied from a power supply unit (40) are mounted, as shown in FIGS. 3 to 5 and FIG. 7, and a circuit board mounting frame (520, 530, 540) that supports the circuit board (510) and protects the circuit board (510) from external impact.

[0054] The circuit board (510) is generally manufactured by mounting corresponding circuit components on a PCB (Printed Circuit Board), etc. In particular, it is preferable that the circuit board (510) be provided as a plurality of circuit boards (510) spaced apart from each other in a direction crossing the front-back direction (i.e., the up-down direction in FIGS. 3, 4, and 7) to reduce the length of the circuit board (510). This is to minimize the shaking or deformation of the circuit board (510) due to a strong impact generated when the acceleration measuring bird is dispatched to the target, thereby preventing damage to the circuit board (510) and improving the reliability of the signal transmitted from the acceleration sensor (30) and its processing. At this time, it is preferable that the plurality of circuit boards (510) be mounted by classifying them according to the circuit components that are related to each other.

[0055] If only one circuit board is provided, the length in the forward and backward directions is bound to be relatively long, which causes more vibration or deformation of the circuit board due to the strong impact that occurs when the acceleration measurement bird is dispatched to the target, and this causes signal noise that causes errors in signal measurement and processing to increase.

[0056] In this embodiment, the circuit board (510) is provided as two separate circuit boards (510) as shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 7, and the two circuit boards (510) are arranged side by side while being spaced apart from each other in a direction intersecting the front-back direction (i.e., the up-down direction).

[0057] Here, one of the two circuit boards (510) is a signal processing circuit board and is positioned at the top in FIGS. 3, 4, and 7, and the other is a power circuit board and is positioned at the bottom in FIGS. 3, 4, and 7. The signal processing circuit board has circuit components for processing signals transmitted from the acceleration sensor unit (30) mounted thereon, and the power circuit board has circuit components for controlling power supplied from the power supply unit (40) mounted thereon. Specifically, the signal processing circuit board has components such as an acceleration sensor signal processing circuit, a memory circuit, and a communication circuit mounted thereon, and the power circuit board has components such as a power circuit and a PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) mounted thereon.

[0058] In addition, the two circuit boards (510) as above are preferably arranged symmetrically vertically within the second housing (100) of the bird body (10) so as to achieve a balanced layout, and are preferably spaced apart from each other within the imaginary square formed by the four impact pins (20) described above so as to withstand external impact well.

[0059] Meanwhile, while two circuit boards (510) are mounted on a circuit board mounting frame (520, 530, 540), although not shown in the attached drawing, it is preferable that the space between the two circuit boards (510) be molded with synthetic resin such as epoxy resin. This is to more firmly fix the two circuit boards (510) within the circuit board mounting frame (520, 530, 540) and further minimize fluctuation or deformation of the circuit boards (510) due to external impact.

[0060] The circuit board mounting frame (520, 530, 540) is configured to support the circuit board (510) and protect the circuit board (510) from external impact, and includes a front disk (520), a rear disk (530), and a plurality of connecting bars (540) as shown in FIGS. 3 to 4 and FIG. 7.

[0061] The front disk (520) and the rear disk (530) are spaced apart from each other with the circuit board (510) between them and support the circuit board (510) from both sides. That is, the front disk (520) and the rear disk (530) are spaced apart from each other in the front-back direction and support both ends of the circuit board (510) with the circuit board (510) placed between them.

[0062] Specifically, a front board joining groove (521) formed at a predetermined depth in the front-back direction is formed on the rear side of the front disk (520) so that the front end of the circuit board (510) can be fitted therein, but the forward movement of the circuit board (510) can be restricted. A plurality of front board joining grooves (521) are formed on the rear side of the front disk (520) to correspond to a plurality of circuit boards (510). In the present embodiment, two front board joining grooves (521) are formed on the front disk (520) to correspond to two circuit boards (510). In addition, a rear board joining groove (531) formed at a predetermined depth in the front-back direction is formed on the front side of the rear disk (530) so that the rear end of the circuit board (510) can be fitted therein, but the backward movement of the circuit board (510) can be restricted. In the present embodiment, two rear board joining grooves (531) are also formed on the front side of the rear disk (530).

[0063] In addition, two front connecting grooves (522) are formed on the rear side of the front disk (520) to connect the two ends of the two front board connecting grooves (521) in a direction intersecting the arrangement direction of the two circuit boards (510), i.e., in the vertical direction. In addition, two rear connecting grooves (532) are formed on the front side of the rear disk (530) to connect the two ends of the two rear board connecting grooves (531) in a direction intersecting the arrangement direction of the two circuit boards (510), i.e., in the vertical direction.

[0064] Meanwhile, a front wire outlet (524) and a rear wire outlet (534) are formed in the front and rear directions to communicate with the wire outlet groove (41) of the power supply unit (40) described above and through which wires are routed. In addition, a front central through hole (523) and a rear central through hole (533) are formed in the central areas of the front and rear disks (520 and 530), respectively, and a plurality of bar connecting grooves are formed to insert and connect a plurality of connecting bars (540) to be described later.

[0065] A plurality of connecting bars (540) connect the front disc (520) and the rear disc (530), and in the present embodiment, four connecting bars (540) are provided as illustrated in FIGS. 3, 4, and 7, and are arranged to correspond to each vertex of an imaginary square. In addition, the front end and the rear end of each connecting bar (540) are respectively fitted into the bar connecting grooves of the front disc (520) and the rear disc (530) described above. Meanwhile, in the present embodiment, the connecting bar (540) is formed in a pipe shape with a circular cross-section, but the cross-sectional shape of the connecting bar may be appropriately changed to a square cross-section, etc.

[0066] The circuit board mounting frame (520, 530, 540) having the above configuration firmly supports the circuit board (510) to stably protect the circuit board (510) against strong impacts that occur when the acceleration measurement bird is dispatched to the target, thereby improving structural durability. In addition, the convenience of inspection and maintenance work on the circuit board (510) can be improved by providing a structure in which the perimeter surrounding the circuit board (510) is open by connecting a plurality of connecting bars (540) between the front disk (520) and the rear disk (530). In addition, the work of epoxy molding the space between the two circuit boards (510) described above can also be made easier.

[0067] While the present invention has been described in detail through preferred embodiments thereof, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention is not limited to the aforementioned preferred embodiments, and that various modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, such modifications and variations should fall within the scope of the claims of the present invention.

[0068] The present invention can be widely used in industrial fields requiring acceleration measurement, such as battery activation test equipment.
